Cole's POV
I sat at my desk and watched in quiet fascination as Haven met my gaze in shock, and a look of panic filled her eyes. In a matter of seconds the pulse at the base of Haven's throat began to race like that of someone running from a predator. Well... I guess in a way, that was what I was to her. But still... she fascinated me in a way that no one ever had before. Haven quickly dropped her eyes, unable to hold my gaze any longer. "What had she been thinking?" I wondered, finding myself becoming more and more intrigued by her. "Clearly she hadn't been having any sexual thoughts, because if she had the smell of her arousal would be all over my office. So what had caused her to look so panicked?" Haven was unlike any girl I had ever met before, and I had met a lot of girls over the years. They had all been power hungry and wanting a title. As we drove away, leaving my family behind, I watched anxiously as civilization disappeared out of my line of sight. I knew I had done a bad thing, a dangerous thing, something that could potentially get me killed. But I had done it for all the right reasons!
