Chapter 1

Today I woke up my world fresh and new in front of me. It's my twenty-first birthday and all though my parents are no longer with me my alpha and luna have kept a way to make me smile each year for the last couple of years they have given me a surprise to which my friends may or may not have ruined. Depends on who's telling the story. Today just like any other I get up from bed ready to tackle the world and the task at hand starting with pack workouts.

Just like any other day I got up showered brushed my teeth put my ponytail into a high bun and dressed in shorts and a tank. Not much clothing but enough as we are wolves, were always extremely warm so the top layer just covers the basics. Which some may see as our best parts. In training today things were going smooth and per usual when Alpha Chris entered with an unknown alpha whose eye held deceit. I had never seen him before but he looks like trouble.

I don't know much or have ant great powers that I'm aware if yet, but I always get an anxious feeling when something bad is about to happen.  So with that, I decided to steer clear of him. Today is my day what can go wrong. Shrugging it off, we do our normal workout and partner up like usual even with the different packs here. They partner up and join us as we have the same basic training. Things all run their course and they do so, everso smoothly.

We've had a couple of hiccups where our warriors may have beaten there opponents quite quickly and caused an uproar, but they are not lacking in skills and strength. We have quite a few younger wolf's here who are starting training early, it's never easy to rip the innocents away from a child but most of them had payed a high cost.

Some have lost their parents at such a young age that there is nothing to be explained many kids see their parents ripped from their eyes. Deaths lead to nothing and at such a high cost. We finish our training where I'm surrounded by my friends Ashely Aiden and Alexis their triplets are not identical but still very much the same. Since I was two and their mom and dad meet and then joined the pack we alternate weekends making than my extended family my mom and Alpha Chris and there are best friends.

Alpha Ezekiel got called to duty at the ripe age of seventeen when his father was abducted and gave his life for the sake of his wife and his son which the enemy shouldn't have known about but got wind of.  The Sunrise Dakota pack was a gentle pack that followed the rules and never looked for trouble. Our pack had qualities that not all may have known about but their qualities kept us the same and away from harm. 

On the day of my birthday Ashely meet me In my room in a funk none of the dresses I wanted to wear flattered me and with that I was confused. I had tried on six regular dresses for ur party dresses and two club-style tired of searching because he will love me in whatever u weave slink into a short black dress.

Seeing that it's my twenty-first birthday and we are here celebrating with the whole pack, I've decided not to make such a fuss. I'm indeed happy that they decided to through it seeing that it would be a great way to welcome me fully into adulthood which is kinda nice seeing that at the age of sixteen my parents already lifted restrictions and made me independent. Some days I wish I was back there.

After washing up and changing into my clothes I style my hair and apply my make-up. Stunning myself at the woman who looks back at me through the mirror. Damn girl we did good my wolf speaks up agreeing with the hungry look in some of the wolf eyes that we're surrounded by. Head up chest out tonight is our night, tonight we live my wolf announces and I smile. Excited about the news I will b sharing with everyone.

Today I and Anthony will get a new start one where we will both be present and aware of things. I've held the secret for so long what a few more hours. I ask myself this unconsciously, not realizing the importance of what I'm doing and or considering. After we cut the cake I will announce it to all of our family and loved ones. 

Seeing as everyone was here and starting to gather near the dining hall I scanned the room finding a few of my friends. Alexis, Ashley, and Aiden run in and engulf me with hugs. Feels like it's been forever since we've last hung out they all take me in their arms, it's not my fault you all stay in the packhouse and I and Anthony have our own little cozy home.

the snicker and we all start to laugh yeah your right we're just waiting on our time. We chat for a while catching up on pack gossip and as  Aiden begins to speak up making us aware that he might have found his mate. She is in our pack also but, he is quite ready I tell us who she is. I hope it's someone sweet he needs someone to help him settle down. Bring out his warm persona people are used to the cold him.

His sisters m a little sour about it cause they haven't met their mate yet but I'm happy for him. I link arms and begin bumping shoulders with Ashley, stop it, don't worry your time is coming and so much sooner than late it has to be. Sitting back she sighs, I'm sure it is but how much longer should I wait you do know I'm an hour and a half older than these two.

Smiling I agree, yeah I know you tell me every chance you get leaving me no chance to be mistaken. Well Aidens leading the way and there's no telling what the night holds it's full of possibilities from here. Your mate might very well be waiting in the next room. Not knowing that the hands fate was about to deal me would squash the dreams and fantasies my little mind held.

I nudge her arm and she smiles agreeing with me, as we link arms and walk towards the dinning hall where the dinner will be served. Everyone is here all my friends and loved ones. People who have become as close as an uncle or aunty brother or cousin. Alpha Chris being my major benefactor here. Irs him and his wife Nina who thought this would be a good idea.

Walking in I'm stuned with the light flashing from my Luna who greets me and wishes me well on my birthday. Happy 21st Birthday sis she says taking me into her arms after her flash has blinded me and I chuckle thanks Luna, grabbing her I hug her tightly wheres Alpha Chris oh somewhere fussing about the candela on the cake and we laugh whole heartedly

She holds me at arm length and looks at me, her smile is one so great all on it's on, that it make me smile. Yeah it's a pretty good turn out wouldn't you say she ask as we take in our surroundings.I smile looking up at her, yeah looks like all most everyone I know is here! I believe they are who would want to miss a pack party free food and drinkbis all they need to have a good time.

 Yeah your right things are pretty special tonight.Things couldn't get any better finding Anthony across the room I scurry to him and we begin  mingling with  the guest telling Ashley,Alexis and Aiden we will chat later. I leave with him hand and hand. He introduces me to people and I smile and laugh at all his jokes. Corney but it fits us.

The party was in full swing and going sweet. Seeing that the neighboring packs were all there our alpha thought it would be a great idea for us all to meet and mingle. We have some neighboring packs here visiting because of our recent alliances.

Treaties being signed and a bunch of other pack business. I scan the room and notice a pair of eyes watching me. Hurt rage and pain flashing in them but why I don't understand leaving the rock unturned I move along. We took our seat at the head table for the border patrol right next to our alpha and his family.

Everyone was filling in and things were going smoothly everyone was seated and dinner was about to be served. Suddenly the chair next to me slides back and Anthony stands up looks into the crowd in front of us and screams Mate! 

Sitting next to him looking dumb founded as he rounds the table and she responds Mate!My heart stops, my tears pool and I'm quickly embraced by Ashely. I push her back and run away I don't  want to be here I mind link my Alpha who looks like he is in shock and feels my pain.

Alpha I need to get away from here now. He nods and I take off not bothering to remove my clothes. Leaping from the table through the packs main entrance and out the door I call my wolf forward.

We take off at the speed of lightning and dig the earth from under us a we take off into the forest. Seeing the clearing up ahead in front of me keeping my pace and shaking my head to clear the tears in my eyes we just run.
