"Please, Jacob. Don't turn your back at me. I am your wife, please help me.” I cried as I walked out of the courtroom. Aurora Clinton, a girl from the foster system, fulfilled the dying wish of a man by marrying his son Jacob Crane. CEO of a multi billion company. Aurora was mistreated by Jacob and his family including his Mistress. Aurora was accused of stealing a special jewelry belonging to Jacob's mother and was sentenced to five years imprisonment. But Luck was Aurora's side as she was rescued by her real family and made the heiress of the family's fortune. Aurora returns to enact revenge on those who have wronged her.

I sat on the sofa as the Doctor’s words continued to echo in my head. “I’m sorry, Mrs. Crane, only time will tell.” I held my tummy tightly as I tried to shut the words out. That didn’t work, but the sound of heels landing on the floor did. “You thief!” That was Katherine, Jacob's mistress. “What’s going on?” Jacob came out of his study, along with his mother and sister from their respective rooms. “I found the jewelry your Mom has been looking for,” she said to Jacob and then looked at me. “She stole it.” Gasps of surprise and anger left everyone's lips, including mine. There was a bit of silence, then I turned to Jacob, my husband. “Jacob, please. I will never do such a thing. She is lying.” I pleaded on my knees. This isn’t the first time this has happened. I have been able to rescue myself from Katherine’s lies and deceit, but this time it seems impossible. “Mother,” Jacob faced his Mom, “is this the jewelry you have been looking for?” he asked her. “Yes, it is,” Christina responded. “There you have it, Aurora,” he said to me. “You have to believe me, Jacob. I didn’t steal or sell that jewelry,” I said with teary eyes. “Believe you?” Katherine, Jacob’s mistress, who has been crawling her way into our marriage from the very beginning, looked at me with disgust. “Why should he believe you, after you manipulated his father, who then manipulated Jacob to marry you!” she screamed. That has been part of the lie people have been made to believe about me. But no one is prepared or even bothered to hear my version of the truth. Martin, Jacob’s father, was very ill. I came to visit him one day, and he asked me to marry his son. I was surprised by his request and refused immediately. But after several pleas, I decided to grant the wish of a dying man, unknown to me that it would be my peril. “I didn’t manipulate anyone. If anyone is being manipulative,” I said, as I stood on my feet, “it’s you, Katherine.” I pointed at her. “Take those wretched fingers out of my face.” She sounded pissed. “These fingers wear the ring, which you will never wear,” I said to her. “You ungrateful bitch.” She charged at me. “Enough!” Jacob yelled and looked at me, “My Mother said this is her missing jewelry. Do you have anything to say about what you have done?” he asked. I’m not surprised by his reaction. I’m pissed. I know he doesn’t love me, and I have poured all my love into him. I knew from the beginning that it wasn’t going to be easy. From an orphan girl who grew up in foster homes to being married to the CEO of a multibillion-dollar company, THE CRANE INDUSTRY, I knew the way would be hard. I thought to myself as I held my tummy. “You really believe that I did this?” I asked him. He shrugged his shoulders, “I wish I could believe you. But you are nothing but a lying and manipulative bitch!” he barked at me. I was taken aback by his reaction. Not that I am surprised by it but by how easy it is for him to paint me as the enemy. “Everything you have been doing from the very beginning. Every good and humble thing you showed my father was just to cover the fact that you are just a little thief.” “How dare you?” I scoffed, “after everything I have done for you and your company.” It felt like the room divided into two as the sound and effect of the slap on my cheeks reached my brain. It was Katherine. “How dare you speak to him like that,” she said. I held my cheek. “Especially after all the evidence against you,” I looked at her, shocked. “What evidence?” I asked, “how can there be evidence when I have done nothing wrong?” She laughed, “Still holding onto that, huh? Well, the cops are here. Maybe they can explain it to you.” The cops? I have been focused on proving my innocence to Jacob that I totally forgot Katherine brought them with her. This piece of jewelry she is accusing me of stealing is something my mother-in-law, Christina, has been looking for, for the past two days. Which has been hell, but not compared to what I’m currently facing. “Sir,” one of the cops faced Jacob. “This lady came forward and told us, Mrs. Crane sold her this jewelry.” A lady who has been with them came forward with the missing jewelry in her hand. “Haa!” Christina gasps and takes it forcefully from the lady. “Show Mr. Jacob who sold you the jewelry.” The cop said to the woman. She raised her finger and pointed at me. I stood in shock because I have never met this woman before. “Anything to add to your innocence?” Katherine asked. I could hear the smugness in her voice. “Officers, Jacob. You have to believe me, I don’t know who this woman is,” I said to them. Jacob scoffs, “You keep using the word believe, whereas all the evidence suggests otherwise.” “I don’t know who she is. I have never met her before now.” I cried out loud. “Yes, you do.” The woman spoke, “Why are you denying me now after you sold me the jewelry?” she said. “I don’t know you, and I never sold any jewelry to you!” I kept insisting. I looked at Jacob, but he gave me a disgusting look. In it, I could see victory because this way, if I'm found guilty, he will have cause to get rid of me. Which was part of the deal I made with him after his father died. “Ma'am, all the evidence showed you sold this piece of jewelry to this woman,” the cop said. “So what game are you playing?” Jacob asked, “Haven't you ruined my family enough?” “What do you mean your family?” I asked, “This is my family too.” “No, it isn't.” Christina said to me, “It never was.” She rolled her eyes. I scoffed. I looked at my so-called family members. It was obvious this was a plot to send me packing, but I won't go down without a fight, especially if I'm innocent. I looked at the woman who has been insisting I sold her the jewelry. “If you are insisting I sold you this, where did we meet?” I asked her. “We met here, of course, where else?” “Steven, the security guard, will prove my innocence,” I said abruptly. Katherine laughed, mocking me. “What does a security guard have to do with any of this?” she asked. “If I have sold anything to this woman, he will know about it. He sees everyone who comes in and out of the compound,” I said. “She is right,” the cop said, “you should bring him forward.” Jacob nodded and he ordered his men to bring Steven. Steven has been on my side ever since I came into this house. There isn't anybody else, just Steven. No maids because according to Christina, I'm more than enough. If anybody can prove my innocence, it is Steven.AURORAI have been in a moving vehicle for the better part of ten hours. Wherever my captors are taking me, they don't seem to have an idea what they are doing. This can't be LeVert, he won't make such a mistake by hiring amateurs, even if he is doing it by himself. He has enough experience to do it right.Suddenly the vehicle stopped moving, the back of the vehicle opened and I was brought out. One of them was about to speak when the other one shut him up without speaking.I kept my mouth shut, I need to be brave, for myself and for my family. My wedding is in a few hours along with Carina's and there is no way I'm missing it.They tied the blindfold around my eyes even tighter, causing the darkness to engulf me.The rough fabric of the blindfold pressed harder against my eyes, sending a jolt of sharp pain across my temples. Darkness was absolute now, not just the absence of sight but the weight of uncertainty pressing down on me. I tried to focus on my breathing, forcing myself to s
JACOB“I can't believe you are getting married!” Braden slammed into me. Trying to ruffle me up a little.“Says the married man,” Andre said to him. It's funny how we are all friends now and we have Aurora to thank for that. She brought all of us together. That's my future wife.“What are you smiling about?” Grey asked me.“You better not be thinking about my sister in some certain way in front of me,” Martin said and we all laughed.I have asked all of them to be mine and Andre best men including Michael, Ryan and Clay. Liam insisted on being the DJ for the service. Right now we are having our bachelor party and having loads of fun. “Thank you for allowing Aurora to do this with Carina,” I said to Andre holding his shoulder.“Are you kidding, Carina will have my head if I don't agree, plus we get to give the world the wedding of the year,” he said and I smiled.“Good man,” I shook his hands and walked towards Grey. “Hey bro,” he turned around and placed his phone in his pocket.“Th
AURORAONE YEAR LATER“What about this?” I walked out of my closet in a black gown filled with diamonds and a white off shoulder handle.“Perfect,” Carina squeaked. I rolled my eyes and walked deeper into the room.“People see me on this, they might think tonight is my rehearsal dinner,” I said to the soon to be bride.“Oh come on, you are the chief bridesmaid, you are meant to dress as elegant as the bride,” Aubrey said, adding her own wisdom to the situation.“Well, apart from that, I will think you guys are just playing dress up with me for me to impress Jacob,” I said to them and they both laughed.“Why are you laughing?” I asked them.“Nothing, just remembering how you blunted out I love you to him,” Carina said, still laughing. I rolled my eyes, trying to hide my blushing face.“Aubrey smirked, “Oh Aurora, you were so abstract about it. It feels like you have been bottling that emotion.”“Maybe I was. I guess my body moved before my mind,” I said to her.“And your timing couldn'
AURORA“Okay, alright. Be safe,” I said and hanged up the call.“Is everything alright?” Carina asked me. I looked at her with my puffy eyes. I can't believe I asked her to move her wedding date all because of LeVert. I feel so sad and heartbroken.“No, don't do that,” she said, hugging me. “Everything will work out. We just need to protect Anna and Mary and we all will be safe.”“But your wedding…”“Can wait,” Andre said, standing beside her. “We all need to be together right now.” He took my hands and I nodded.“Okay,” I exhaled, wiping my face with my other hand. “Let's do this then.”“The girls are pulling up,” Aubrey said to me. We raced towards the car to stop the paparazzi from taking pictures of them.“How come there are so many paparazzi?” Madeline asked as we moved through the crowd.“LeVert probably called them here to witness whatever he had planned,” I said to her.We finally got to the car and help Linda protect the girls from the cameras.“Aunt Aurora,” Anna and Mary hu
JACOB“What does Christina has to do with any of these?” I asked her.“I'm sure you heard from your stepbrother, Grey?” She asked.“Lara, what are you doing?” Aurora asked her. “Grey is not to be trusted.”“I was the one who told Grey to meet with you,” she said looking at me. “He is trying to make amends. You should let him.” I looked at Aurora, who just shrugged her shoulders.“So what about Christina?” Amy asked, standing in front of her. “You can't just drop a bombshell like that and not say anything to it.”“I was getting to it,” she handed her USB drive to Liam, “here, input it to the system,” Liam looks at me hesitant to do it. “Do it Liam,” I nodded.”A lot of files displayed on the bug screen. “These are all of the operations I could find that can be linked to LeVert, including serial killing of high profile women.” “Which one involves my step mom?” I asked, and a more detailed document displayed on the screen.“Wait,” Aurora scoffed. “You have this much evidence and LeVert
JACOBI kept pacing around, it's been almost two hours since Aurora left and she isn't back yet.“Martin is with her,” Madeline said to me, “he won't let anything happen to her.”“But if he can't,” I said and she looked confused. “Whatever is going on is beyond his power,” she sighed and shook her head.“Hey, you have to think good thoughts bro,” Amy said, holding my shoulder. “Aurora didn't come this far to give up or jeopardize everything.”“She is right, J,” Braden whispered, standing beside me. “You have to be able to trust Aurora, trust that she knows what she is doing,” he said and scoffed, “because she has been doing this long before she returned back to her life.”“I just want to protect her, want to keep her safe,” I said to him.“I know bro, but she got this and you know it.”I took a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down, even though every fiber of my being screamed to go after her. Braden was right, though. Aurora had proven time and again that she could handle herself.
