Avelyn Harrison, now going by the name Faith Emerson, had the perfect life one could hope for, with a wonderful husband and a faultless existence...or so she believed, until everything came crashing down one day after catastrophic secrets were revealed. She is then compelled to flee and never look back, but what happens when her past life unexpectedly catches up with her and she is forced to deal with the repercussions of fleeing with the billionaire's twin babies.
View MoreI knew I had to leave. Dante should never find out that I'm pregnant. My heart pained knowing that I was about to lose someone this precious to me.
I was going to have two beautiful babies for the man I love, and I wasn't going to let anything bad happen to them. I so desperately wanted to go back but couldn't. I recalled the events playing in my head once more.
"Why are you torturing me like this?" I sobbed loudly, brushing away my tears as sorrow encircled my chest and made the idea of leaving Dante unbearable.
"Why did you ask? Because you are nothing more than a bitch who is undeserving! Years of sitting while you strut around pretending to be someone you're not while I watched you get all the attention!" Her tone became stern and also vengeful.
"But you don't have to do this, please." I begged.
"I've had enough of you. You're going to do exactly as I say and if you try to alert Dante or anyone, I'll release those damning evidence and ruin your lives." The female taunted.
"You're going to leave the fucking country and never come back and if you do. I'll make sure to execute you and your family. Got it?" I nodded my head almost embolized before faintly whispering a yes.
"Good, I've already arranged everything for you. You see it was very easy considering the fact that I'm Dante's lover and he confides everything with me. Now since he's away on a three-day business trip in Ireland he won't be able to notice a thing." I sobbed terribly hearing that whoever was doing this was very close to my husband.
"Please don't hurt me." I begged, sobbing as I glanced at the gun to my head.
I knew whatever she was saying was not true, Dante would never do this to me, he loved me dearly. From the day we had met in college Dante has been my first in everything. I didn't know how I was going to get through this world without him by my side.
"I won't murder you if you follow my instructions; I only needed you out of the way. When Dante and I made love, he would always admit that you were monotonous in bed and never stopped bugging him. He also grew tired of you not giving him an heir as requested; the only reason he hasn't filed for divorce is because he feels sorry for you, you pathetic barren woman!" She chuckled menacingly.
"No, I don't believe you. Dante would never do anything to hurt me. You're lying." I snapped, fiercely defending my husband.
"See for yourself." She smiled viciously massaging her pregnant stomach.
I looked towards her phone witnessing that there was a video, I hesitantly extended my hand before clicking on the video and there it was a clear view of my bedroom and a man and a woman lying in bed. The woman was on top of the man.
I could clearly see the same identical tattoos on the man that matched the one's on Dante's hand. The tattoo was that of a dragon same color same size everything matched perfectly, the woman riding on top of my husband was clearly not me.
Her hair was red, but she had a clear pink heart on her bum which was not mine. And then there it was picture of my husband's face. My husband was there enjoying his moment with the red head woman who was standing before me smirking.
"I needed that, I've been sexually frustrated for the past two days, I no longer feel comfortable having sex with my barren wife considering she's unable to have my child after trying for so long." I bit my lip holding back my tears as my husband spoke after climaxing.
"Let's have a baby together, we can divorce her then." She suggested.
"I can't divorce her, especially not now since the business is taking off, my family loves her too much, once I find a way to do it without my family think blaming me for our divorce then I'll happily divorce her and be with you baby doll." The pain was too much to bear as my husband said those words to her.
"H-How is this even possible?" I questioned in disbelief.
It was a lie!
It has to be a lie!
My husband would never do this to me!
"Such a naive woman you are you're not the first or the last woman Donte has ever been with and will ever be with, consider this me doing you a favor." She spat.
"Everything you need is in that bag, I don't care wherever you go just take it and leave. Also, if I find that I'm able to trace you by your name I'll execute you. Now move!" She spoke.
I looked at the bags before me. Already packed. I took one last look at the mansion before going on my way.
Whoever this woman was made sure I left no trace. None that Dante would ever pick up on and search for me. I already missed him. I desperately wanted to just be in my husband's overprotective and possessive hands right now even though he had cheated on me.
But my babies were more important. They were my world as of now on.
I handed over my phone to the guy who stood before me with a mask over his face before heading into the unknown car.
I watched as Dante locked his bedroom door, noting that the room was dimly lit, creating an atmosphere of mystery and allure. The soft glow from a few strategically placed lamps danced across the walls, casting enticing shadows. As he turned to face me, the room seemed to shrink, and the air grew charged with anticipation. Our eyes locked in an intense gaze, and the unspoken desire between us was obvious. The subtle scent of vanilla filled the air, adding to the alluring atmosphere. In a daring move, Dante took slow, deliberate steps towards me, his confident demeanor heightening the anticipation and making my heart race frantically within my chest with every step he took. Now standing just inches away from me, my breath quickened, and I felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness. With a gentle touch, he traced his fingers along the curve of my cheek, sending delightful shivers down my spine. The intimacy of the moment was overwhelming, and I found myself drawn closer to him, yearni
In the dimly lit room, I observed Dante tenderly placing Ava and Aiden down to sleep, his strong yet gentle hands cradling their small form with utmost care.As I gazed at him, it was impossible to deny the sheer handsomeness that radiated from his every move, especially when he interacted with our twins. A pang of regret washed over me, knowing that I had not fought harder for our relationship, choosing instead to give in to whatever Catherine said and flee. With a hint of reluctance, Dante momentarily hesitated to leave not wanting to ever leave the twins' side. His eyes lingered on them, a mix of adoration and wistfulness etched on his face.As he leaned down to plant soft kisses on their little foreheads, my heart swelled with emotions, recognizing the sweetness of the moment yet burdened by the realization that I had deprived him of these precious moments with his babies. I had inadvertently robbed our twins of the chance to spend quality time with their loving father.A mere day
Dante's PovThe shock and anger that surged through me upon discovering that someone close had cruelly kidnapped my beloved children were unutterable. The mere thought that this person, whom I had trusted, could commit such an atrocious act left me with a burning resolve to bring my children back safely and punish her immensely. For me, the notion of sending Catherine to prison felt inadequate. Prison was designed for humans, but Catherine's actions had been nothing short of inhumane. She had committed a heinous act, betraying the trust I had mistakenly placed in her.In ridding ourselves of her presence, I couldn't help but feel conflicted about the justice she deserved. Nevertheless, the safety and well-being of my children were paramount, and I knew I had to act swiftly to protect them. After ensuring Catherine was no longer a threat, I rushed to untie Ava and Aiden, my heart pounding with a mixture of joy and relief. The sight of their tear-streaked faces tugged at my soul, and th
Catherine's PovPanic gripped me as I took a step back in fright, I realized that my carefully constructed scheme was about to crumble. But amidst the chaos, an unexpected turn of events unfolded.Suddenly, a voice boomed from the shadows, cutting through the air like a sharp blade. "Catherine," he called out, his tone both familiar and filled with a mix of surprise and disappointment.Startled, I turned my gaze towards Dante, who stood there, his expression a complex blend of anger and displeasure. My mind raced, desperately trying to comprehend how he had discovered my secret. I had been so careful, or so I thought."Dante, how... how did you find me?" I stammered, struggling to regain my composure.A faint displeasure played on his lips as he took a step forward making my heart drop. "You're quite the actress, Catherine. I'll give you that," he replied, his voice tinged with a hint of bitterness. "But even the best performers leave behind traces, breadcrumbs that eventually lead to
Catherine's PovWith a triumphant smile on my lips, I couldn't help but relish in Avelyn's stupidity. How could she possibly think she had a chance to reclaim Dante's heart? From the very instant my eyes met his, I claimed him as mine, and no one else could lay a claim on him, even if he happened to be married.Manipulating Avelyn turned out to be a surprisingly an effortless task. Her naivety and innocent devotion to Dante made her an easy target. She was hopelessly in love, willing to sacrifice anything for him, and oblivious to the fact that Dante was devoted to her and would never cheat. She even placed his happiness above hers, which was an added advantage for me, as I prided myself on being selfless.Fortunately, our close ties as family friends worked to my advantage. When I decided to seize a better opportunity in New York, my family's connections paved the way.Through a close family friend of Dante's, I managed to secure a position in his esteemed company. It was a stroke of
Dante's PovAs I approached Catherine in the living room, a mix of concern and curiosity etched across my face, I gently inquired, "How are you feeling, Catherine?" My voice carried a subtle hint of empathy, acknowledging the pain she must have endured at the hands of Avelyn's explosive outburst that left her with a broken nose.Catherine's eyes met mine, a glimmer of relief flickering within them. With a surprising touch of resilience, she responded, "I'm actually doing much better now. As long as Avelyn confines herself to her room, I can't help but feel a sense of relief. It's an opportunity for all of us to regain a semblance of safety."I offered my apology, sincere and remorseful, acknowledging the upset Avelyn's uncharacteristic behavior had caused. "Once again, I apologize for Avelyn's boisterous behavior," I expressed, my words filled with a weight of responsibility. "To witness such a profound change in her demeanor is truly unsettling, especially considering her past nature.
