Chapter 4

His dark, piercing gaze roamed all over me, and I suddenly felt conscious to hide somewhere. He wore a black two-piece suit, and it fitted well with his built physique. Taking long, slow strides he walked toward my direction. Iris squirmed under his eyes and avoided them.

Bringing his fingers to grasp her chin, and forced her to face him. He studied her face and lowered down to her lush lips. Pulling herself out of the reverie she slapped his hand away and glared at him. How dare he touch her like she’s a piece of jewelry?

“What’s your name human?” He asked.

“Iris.”

“A beautiful name it fits perfectly with mine. I’m your Alpha Eris and you do know what that means, right?” A large hand caressed her black locks. Feeling annoyed with his actions, she grasped his hand. The wolves present in the area gasped at Iris’ actions. How dare she deny the Alpha’s touches?

Amusement danced in his red eyes. He likes this little human. “What seems to be the issue here?” The commander stood upright and saluted.

“The human does not belong to the wolf military therefore we request that she’ll be banned. We hope that you can consider this, Alpha Eris.” The commander bowed down to him his legs shivered from Eris’ dominating aura.

“Whoever you are, you will be suspended from your duties. Failure to follow the chain of commands will receive punishment. Just having a high position does not mean you can break the rules.” There was anger and annoyance in his voice while others dropped their heads in fear of meeting his eyes. No one can deny the Alpha’s words.

“Miss Iris, come with me.” He commanded. Iris raised an eyebrow. Why does she have to follow his orders? He realized she did not move at all and commanded the men to carry her.

“No, don’t touch me! I can walk thank you.” She pushed them away and followed the demanding man named Eris. His height towered over her from behind it feels like a beast about to eat her up. The men shrugged and carried her belongings instead. Four other people and Marissa followed behind.

He opened a wooden door it was a meeting room. The room has a long rectangular table with chairs lining up and large flat-screen television. Marissa pushed off the dirty blonde man and sat down beside me. Once everyone has settled down on their seats, there was silence in the room.

“Why do you want to join the Royal Military? Have you ever thought of the dangers you’ll be facing? This is a war we’re talking about and a human dies with one shot of a bullet. Do you think you can survive that kind of scenario?” Alpha Eris asked. Iris knew what will happen in the military but she doesn’t care. As long as she can get her revenge, no one can stop her from doing what she wants.

“I don’t care.” She replied boldly. Crossing her arms and leaned back to the seat, showing how relaxed she was. There was no fear on her expression but it was the face of a strong and bold woman.

“Alpha Eris, I hope you won’t ban her from the military. Who knows maybe she has the potential and there will be lots of uses for her that can benefit our pack.” Marissa defended. Iris was grateful towards her at least she’s not so hostile to a human like her.

“Marissa, you have no say in this!” The dirty blonde hair man shouted out.

“I can and have the freedom to state my opinion, brother.” She retorted back. Brother? They’re siblings? No wonder they look similar to each other. Both siblings were in a state of disagreement.

“There’s no need for you to protect a lousy human. They are weak and can easily die from our hands. She will only bring you down with her to death.” His voice was seething with anger and glared at Iris.

‘Brother, things have changed maybe humans aren’t that bad at all. To think the great general Edin Benver threw her here in the military there must be a reason.”

“Marissa-“

“That’s enough, Beta Jayden.” Alpha Eris cut into their conversation. Looking over at Iris there was something that Eris wanted from her. It was dangerous but he can’t stop that need.

“You can join the Royal Military.” Everyone gasped at his words. Is Alpha Eris insane? What can a human do in the wolf military their strength is weaker compared to ours.

“Alpha Eris, the Beta division refuses to accept this!” Jayden shouted.

“Tristan Dawson of the Delta division accepts!” The black-haired man shouted in too much joy.

“Ylana Leighton of the Omega division does not accept this decision.” The woman with pixie-cut hair dyed in dark green stood up and there was an unwelcoming gaze in her yellow eyes.

“So it’s a two-to-two decision then? What about you, Iris? Do you want to accept?” He asked me. Those who refused their jaws dropped. Why did Eris have to ask her?

“Yes, that’s the reason why I’m here right? Isn’t it obvious to you?” Both Jayden and Ylana glared at me. She smiled back at them a smile of a winner.

“However, there is a condition. You must serve me from food to work-related things, and then you will get the military training that you wanted.” Eris added. What the hell? How could he leave that part alone and make me accept? He tricked me! Eris smiled at my furious gaze.

“What you’re saying is that I should become your servant? What am I your nanny?” He laughed out loud. Nanny sure does sound good, he thought. Iris was extremely annoyed by his smile, he’s been smiling at her since they met back at the open area. Does he have a smile sickness or something?

“If you’re going to refuse this chance at the military will go down the drain. So, is it a yes or no?” This man left me with no choice. If I need to get revenge against the demons there is no way for me to find and get information about them. The military is the only way to get in.

“Fine, I accept your unjust request. Just so you know I’m not doing your laundry.” Eris grinned, happy to hear her words, and yes he’ll make sure there is no laundry. This woman is interesting he can tell that she’s a tough woman and fought a lot of battles.

“Great! You will be staying in the room beside mine and here’s my number if I ever need you I can just call you over. Don’t be late or else there will be severe punishment. There is no turning back in this agreement, Iris. Tristan, please draw up a contract for a little guest we have over here.” Did he call me little? I'm sure that I'm not, even though his tall height greatly intimidates me.

Alpha Eris, it was a mistake that you will be taking me in as a servant. I will make sure to turn your life into a living hell. Curse the rules because Iris does not follow anyone. Revenge is what I want not to become a dog’s puppy.

"Did you really mean it? From what you said back in Halycon." She confronted Eris in his study room in the pack house. Placing the papers on the desk he leaned over on his elbows.

"No. Forget everything what I said that time, I'm sorry about it my wolf lost control when he found you." He replied.

"What? So everything was fake? Eris, are you toying with my feelings? Don't tell me it wasn't you back in the military camp." Iris growled, why was she assuming that something is going to happen between them? What was she looking for? A relationship? No, there is no time for that especially her goal is far from finished.

He laughed at her words. "Were you expecting a relationship? Are you crazy? Werewolf and a human, what a disgusting combination. Just do your job and forget about everything." Eris stood up and left the room.

Iris was angry at herself and to Eris. Next time, this will never happen again it caused a great blow on her pride. The man completely stripped her bare she was humiliated. If this is how Eris damaged her then she will do the same to him. But not now, when the time opportunity comes she would strike back at him. You messed with the wrong girl, Eris.
