All she could see was darkness. She felt her body moving unconsciously towards a small red light. A hand reached out to touch the mysterious light, but it disappeared. She blinked her eyes once she gasped upon seeing a wolf-like beast with blood-red eyes and sharp fangs snarling at presence. The sound of rough knocking on the door awakened her from the dream. What the hell was that? Iris questioned herself.
"Iris, are you okay? You have been in there for an hour already. Please tell me you forgot your graduation day." Medicia asked. Iris does not consider Medicia Becker as her parent but more of a guardian. When Iris was still a young girl, they found her stranded by the riverside. She took her in and tended to her injuries. Not everyone was happy with having a human being on the Wulflands. A werewolf doctor living with a human sounds weird in the Supernatural world.
Iris hurriedly dried herself and wore clothes. Today is her graduation day, and Iris dreamed of becoming a doctor to help young children from the orphanage. Medicia herself was also a doctor and cared for the orphaned children.
"Congratulations on your graduation day! As much as I want to attend the ceremony, I have an emergency client to attend to." Medicia said. Iris frowned at her words. Medicia has been working a lot lately and barely comes home. This situation made Iris sad she loves Medicia very much, but she could not attend her graduation day.
"I understand. Once this graduation is over, I want to train under you to become a doctor and treat the children at the orphanage." Iris declared. It was a dream of hers even though she is a human no one can ever stop her from reaching the goal.
"When that time comes, I will train you even if it becomes impossible," Medicia said, her voice toning down at the end. However, Iris was not able to catch the last few words. She couldn't help but become worried for Iris' future.
Iris waved goodbye to her and walked towards Moonfall University. The graduation ceremony was fast and smooth. Everyone was happy and excited to start their careers. Iris wanted to celebrate it with Medicia unfortunately she wasn't available at the moment.
She went out to visit her boss at Moon Howl Cafe and spent time with them as today was her last day at work. "Congratulations on your graduation!" A middle-aged man welcomed her with open arms. Edin Benver, the owner of the cafe she worked for a great family man. He accepted Iris' human identity and treated her like a daughter.
The glass door opened a customer came in, but it wasn't any customer. A tall man with blood-red hair and eyes walked towards the counter and took a look at our menu. The expensive suit fits his built physique. Iris had to attend to the customers needs since the other workers were busy. "Good morning, sir. Would you like to try our best seller drink the the 'Requiem of Dreams'. I assure you it tastes fantastic." Her breath hitched when the man leaned over his eyes stared down on to her blue ones.
"Human." He whispered after sniffing her scent. There was curiousity in his red eyes and she felt the same too. It's the first time she's seen a werewolf with such hair and eye color. "I'll take whatever special drink that is." He said and gave me a black card. He's definitely a rich man taking out a pair of sunglasses he put it on. Who wears sunglasses inside a building? Oh right, guys who thinks they're cool.
After preparing his drink their hands touched and a electric spark was felt in a mere second. Once again he leaned closer to Iris inhaling her scent while his lips trailed over her ear. She shuddered under his gaze. Who is this man? What is he doing to me?
"Thank you for the drink. I'll be seeing you soon, my little human." He took the coffee from her hand and walked off. Her mind was in a daze, shaking her head she must focus on helping out at the cafe.
"Take care and congrats!" The couple and other employees greeted her happily.
"Thank you. I will be celebrating my graduation with the children tonight. Can I bring home some donuts and cupcakes for them?" Iris asked.
"Of course, anything for the young lady, we will miss you a lot. There is no longer a dark-haired girl shouting her head off at nasty customers." Edin laughed over the memory when Iris worked on the first day. This little girl grew up into a beautiful lady. "Our little Iris grew up. You will surely be missed here." Edin's wife, Carly arrived and kissed Iris' cheek.
Everyone celebrated her graduation day and wished her luck in the medical field. Nighttime came, and Iris closed down the cafe she felt a chilling feeling from afar. As if someone was watching her.
Iris toughened up and tried not to freak out. Whoever that person is, Iris wished she could see their face and beat them up for being creepy stalkers. She released a sigh of relief when the orphanage came into her view. Iris adored children, and those children became her family.
"Iris, I knew you would come today. Come in the children have been expecting you all day!" Natasha, the head caregiver, ushered her inside. Several small heads turned her way and began shouting in joy and hugged the children, and they gave back lots of kisses."I bought you some snacks!" The children cheered in joy and obediently waited for their turn to get the donuts and cupcakes. Sally was the last child, and she seemed to be weak and quiet."Sally, are you okay?" Iris asked worriedly. Sally had always been the loud one among all children but today seemed to be different.
"Sally has been crying since this morning. She thinks you were leaving the orphanage." Natasha answered. These children are a handful and love Iris too much. Natasha laughed when Sally pouted.
"Hey, no one is leaving you, alright? Soon I'll be here with you all the time there are few things that I have to take care of first before I could do that." Iris reassured the young girl. The door to the entrance opened; it was Medicia. Iris thought she would be busy. The children greeted Medicia before focusing back on their desserts.
"We need to talk." Those were the first words Medicia blurted out. She sounded serious, and Iris knew that Medicia means it following her until she stopped at the front porch. Medicia Becker was a middle-aged woman; the moonlight illuminated her beautiful features. The cold night air blew, and her brunette hair flew from the wind. Those green eyes held sadness and fear.
“I know how much you wanted to become a doctor and train under me. I’m sorry, but I can’t fulfill your wishes. I’ll be traveling to the Lycan territory tonight, and they’re hostile against humans. You have to stay here and take care of the children.” Medicia said. Iris’ heart jumped in shock. She’s leaving me? She couldn’t believe Medicia’s words and cried.
“So you’re going to leave me alone with these wolves who hate me just because I’m a human? What am I going to do if they try to kill me? Please, don’t tell me all of this is a dream. Medicia I need you.” Iris cried out and a tear fell down her cheek. Medicia inhaled deeply, bottled up the emotions within her heart.
“I promise you no one will hurt you. It’s about time I tell you about the past. Iris, there is more to your life than just sitting here and become a doctor I can’t do that to you. What about your loss of memories? You must go and explore the world to look for answers and find out your true self. A human can’t enter the Supernatural world, and there I knew that your story hasn’t come to an end.” She hugged Iris tightly soothing her tears. Yes, she is scared for her well-being but it must be done, she has to let her go.
“Fine, I hope I can survive without you here. You never told me about how you found me. Care to tell me the details?” Iris asked.
‘The truth is…it wasn’t me who found you. She was a special and powerful woman they found you by the riverside near North. They passed down the job to me by taking care of you I have no choice but to follow through.” Taking out a box from her pocket and handed it to me. Iris was curious and opened the box. She gasped at the beautiful necklace, it was a circular-shaped necklace and a small crescent moon painted in white. The color was blood-red it glowed in the dark.
“It’s beautiful,” Iris murmured.
“I was supposed to give this to you on your eighteenth birthday but time was running out. You wore this when you were still young and unconscious. The special woman asked me to give this back to you. But you must never give it to someone else and keep it safe at all costs. This moon necklace has tons of unknown value they might fight you for it.” She shivered at how special this necklace is that people will kill her just to get their hands on it.
“I have to go now. Congratulations on your graduation. I will miss you a lot and hopefully, we’ll meet again.” They hugged for a long time then Medicia left.
“Iris, please read me a bedtime story,” Sally asked her.
“Sure, let’s go inside and prepare you to bed.” Picking up a book she realized it was one of her favorite childhood stories.
“The girl found a new meaning in her life. The boy she loved for a long time turned out to be her true mate. By rediscovering her past, she was able to fix the missing pieces of her life,” She looked up and found Sally deep asleep. “and they lived in harmony and love, the end.” She whispered the last few words and silently left her room.
Iris greeted Natasha and the other caregivers with a goodnight and went home. Thankfully the chilling feeling was not there on her way home.
The loud blaring noise of the fire truck woke Iris up. These wolves have no respect for the sleeping residents. Tucking a robe around herself, she went out to check the commotion. She gasped at the large fire burning at a distance. The surrounding houses too were caught in a fire, but these buildings were located near the orphanage. Iris ran in the direction of the orphanage, a glimmer of hope that whatever she was thinking of isn’t true. Her heart shattered staring at the burnt building while some firemen tending on the small fires. People gathered around the orphanage, and Iris pushed every one of them. Her boss, Edin, caught Iris before she could enter the place. Crying out loud and finally broke free from his grasp, entering the area, and the foul smell of sulfur caught her nose mixed with a metallic odor. The image of slaughtered children and caregivers is in her mind. The children who could have a bright future ahead of them and ruthlessly murdering them in
Medicia traveled back to the Lycan territory as there was an emergency with her client. Meanwhile, Iris underwent harsh training with Edin. She couldn’t count the times she had body pains and huffed tiredly from their last training. Her body changed a lot and starting to have a toned body and few muscles and learned a lot of offensive and defensive skills for a business owner Edin hits back so hard. How did he even maintain his military training and still be good at it? Pulling the bag trolley, a cab was waiting for her outside. The couple waited for her at the doorstep with a smile on their face. “Good luck in the Royal Military. Please be careful the high-class wolves are not easy to please.” She gave Carly and Edin a hug. They will be missed a lot. Getting into the cab her journey began towards Alarick, the DarkMoon’s capital city. The driver dropped her off at the train station and paid the fare. Inhaling deeply, this is it one last travel then I w
His dark, piercing gaze roamed all over me, and I suddenly felt conscious to hide somewhere. He wore a black two-piece suit, and it fitted well with his built physique. Taking long, slow strides he walked toward my direction. Iris squirmed under his eyes and avoided them. Bringing his fingers to grasp her chin, and forced her to face him. He studied her face and lowered down to her lush lips. Pulling herself out of the reverie she slapped his hand away and glared at him. How dare he touch her like she’s a piece of jewelry? “What’s your name human?” He asked. “Iris.” “A beautiful name it fits perfectly with mine. I’m your Alpha Eris and you do know what that means, right?” A large hand caressed her black locks. Feeling annoyed with his actions, she grasped his hand. The wolves present in the area gasped at Iris’ actions. How dare she deny the Alpha’s touches? Amusement danced in his red eyes. He likes this little human. “What see
Her first day here in the Royal Military was not a good one. She tried to fit in, but these wolves are cold-hearted and pushed her around. Standing in front of Eris, who was busy reading a stack of papers. This demanding man has been throwing her around the military camp, carrying heavy loads of paper and delivering them to different departments. She was here for military training, not to become a slave for the devil. "Can I go now? It's almost dinner time, and I've been running around all day. I followed your orders, and thank god, tried to stop myself from strangling you." "No, your work is not yet done. After I finish reading this paper I want you to deliver it to the Health Department. Once you're done, come to the packhouse." One more errand to go? Iris sighed tiredly. Her feet couldn't handle another walk they're prob
Iris felt a lot better after a day of rest. Her new 'friend', Marissa, has been following her around all day. Even Alpha Eris was annoyed and kicked her out of his office. The big bad wolf was really attentive to Iris today, and constantly checked on her condition. Here she was thinking he's a heartless, arrogant man but there was a slightest hint of care towards her. The thought made her stomach flutter. "Do you have fever?" Eris asked her out of the blue. "Your face is flushed." He continued seeing her confused emotion. This girl has been day dreaming in the middle of her work and what could that be inside her mind? Checking the time it was already lunch. Time passed by so fast. Mind-linking his Beta he reserved a seat at one of the most luxurious and high-quality restaurants in DarkMoon. 'What's the occassion, Alpha?" Beta Jayden asked curiously. His Alpha last dined in that restaurant five years ago. What made him come back?
Eris watched as Iris walked away. He laughed when she kicked a pebble like a child. For a weak human like her there was fire and spirit in her eyes. A tough one to handle and disobedient usually everyone would follow his orders like a good subordinate. But it was different for Iris. "Alpha Eris." The guards greeted him as he entered the military camp. Beta Jayden and Delta Tristan was already inside his office ready to start the meeting. The Omega is unavailable right now and went home to prepare for the festival of her hometown. Eris acknowledged their presence and sat down. "The western territories have reported several sightings of rogues. However, there were no actions done against them but their movements seems to be suspicious. This is the picture taken by a lycanthrope sentinel. These men were digging through the dirt and formed a symbol." Jayden pulled another picture. The drawing seems to be unfinished and they couldn't decipher yet what it wa
The continuous throb of body pain woke Iris up. This time the bruises were visible thankfully there was no sticky feeling on her skin. She groaned these injuries were preventing her from moving a lot. She sat up attempting to grab the glass pitcher filled with water unaware of a man's presence sitting at the corner of the room. "Should I lick your bruises to make the pain go away?" A deep voice echoed throughout the room. Iris flinched from surprise and accidentally spilled the water on to her white shirt. Damn it! She glared at Eris who stood there with no remorse or anything to feel worried towards her. Damn, he's being a creepy man. How long was he staying in this room? "No thank you, have you been watching me sleeping all this time? What are you a creep?" He pulled out another shirt from the closet and threw it to her. Here she is again, sleeping on his bedroom and wearing his clothes. There is definitely something wrong with his brain. She's sure
The elegant woman sat down beside her and watched the water rippled under the moonlight. Only the sound of the blowing wind and the rustling of trees can be heard. Everything was peaceful, no chaos, arguments and a demanding Eris. "What is this place? I wish I could stay here forever and forget everything." She laid down on the grass and stared up at the night sky. "This place is called, Moon Lake. It used to be magical with hundreds of animals living in this area but a war scarred the world and has now become a forgotten memory. People rarely come here nowadays, modernization changed us all. Everyone sticks their faces to technology these days." There was a sad tone in the woman's voice. Iris' stomach growled and blushed embarassingly. "Who would wander around in this area on an empty stomach?" The woman stood up and walked towards a tree. A magical sparkle appeared from her hands and a fruit dropped on it. This world not only has werewo
