Third Person's POV

Melanie's phone rang. She answered, "Monica."

Monica asked if she was free to come over for dinner later.

Melanie glanced at Moira on the sofa. "I'm with Trista at Moira's place right now."

Based on their earlier conversation, Moira wanted them to stay and help her pick fruit in the orchard behind the estate later.

Moira, hearing Melanie talking to Monica, said, "Bring Trista back with you."

She then looked at Archer. "You haven't seen Monica in days either. Since you have time now, go back with them."

Archer was eating his breakfast, his voice flat. "I have something scheduled later."

His tone was so even it sounded like he was stating a fact that had been booked weeks ago.

Melanie wasn't surprised—it was exactly what she expected.

When it came to her, Archer was always too busy; when it came to Camille, he could always "adjust his schedule."

That was the difference.

  • The Breaking Point of Mate: Giving Up on My Alpha   Chapter 59

Melanie's POVWe were pressed together so tightly there was no space between us.The heat from his chest radiated through the thin fabric of his pajamas. His palm rested on my back, and the unconscious pressure was right on a sensitive nerve near my spine. In the past, this contact would spread along the mating bond, instantly soothing Frost and me.Now, it only reminded me of the cord that had been violently torn.Frost lifted her head deep in my consciousness, instinctively wanting to be closer to that familiar Alpha scent. But when she caught the lingering traces of a scent that wasn't mine, she let out a low, suppressed snarl. It was her primal resistance to an "Alpha who was being shared."I usually sleep very still. When I got into bed last night, I deliberately slept on the edge, making sure there was enough distance between us so we wouldn't touch. So, unless—Unless, during all those nights without

Melanie's POVI knew Moira was, once again, trying to "bind" us into a single unit, attempting to maintain the image of a complete Alpha family at this kind of dinner.I didn't look at Archer's reaction. I just followed Moira into the dining room to sit down. The dining room had a long table. Plates and cutlery were already set on both sides, with a row of shared dishes in the middle—roast beef, roasted vegetables, salad, chicken wings, small rolls, and a few light, hot dishes that I preferred.I sat across from Moira and Trista. In my periphery, Archer pulled out the chair to my left and sat down next to me.Moira finally looked a little satisfied. After the main courses and sides were served, she told Archer, "Get some food for Melanie. She just rushed back and must be hungry."I didn't look at him. "It's fine, I'll—"Before I could finish, Archer reached out. From the nearest platter, he cut a piece of the spicy

  • The Breaking Point of Mate: Giving Up on My Alpha   Chapter 57

Melanie's POVAfter getting into the car, I drove straight toward the Razor Pack.Leaving the city streets and the human areas, the night deepened. The car headlights sliced the shadows of the trees along the highway into segments.I drove up the private road, and the outline of the main estate came into view. The old manor was only partially lit at night, the windows like half-closed eyes.By the time I got there, it was completely dark.Inside, besides the omgeas, only Moira was present.Notified that I had arrived, she set down her cup and personally came out of the living room to greet me.When she saw me walk in alone, the smile on her face paused noticeably. "Where's Trista?" she asked.Archer not riding with me was normal, but Trista usually came back with me.Since my ankle healed and I went to the Alpha villa to have dinner with her, she hadn't contacted me once on her own initiative. As for where

  • The Breaking Point of Mate: Giving Up on My Alpha   Chapter 56

Third Person's POVThe delicate line of her shoulders, the clean, full curve of her chest, and the sharp tuck of her waist were suddenly exposed, highlighted by the morning light and the steam. The moment the robe was yanked open, the scent that had been suppressed by the fabric also escaped—it wasn't just shower gel or hot spring water; it was the she-wolf pheromones, now activated by the heat.It carried a cold, moonlight quality and a slight, contained sharpness, like a blade slipping beneath the surface of the water.Everyone froze.Melanie's face flushed hot, even the tips of her ears burning. She instinctively reached out and pulled the torn robe closed.Dwight's eyes darkened. The burst of pheromones hitting him with the steam made the wolf inside him surge up—Alpha wolves are inherently possessive, and they react more acutely to powerful she-wolves.Normally, a marked Luna would clearly carry her mat

  • The Breaking Point of Mate: Giving Up on My Alpha   Chapter 55

Third Person's POVDwight clearly saw that she was noticeably more distant toward him now than she had been before. That aloofness wasn't intentional coldness; it was a subtle, invisible boundary—she wouldn't cross it, and she didn't want him crossing it either. He instinctively blamed it on the awkward encounter at the racetrack. Seeing her leave, he simply nodded and didn't try to stop her.As Melanie walked away, Elmer came out with his plate. He glanced at the people at her former table. "Who was that?"When he waved earlier, Dwight's back was to him. From a distance, he just saw the broad-shouldered back of a man and a child sitting next to him. He assumed they were just random guests sharing a table. But seeing Melanie go over and talk to them, they couldn't be total strangers."Dwight," she explained simply."Dwight?" Elmer raised an eyebrow, surprised. "I thought you two weren't close. Why were you sitting
