Chapter 3

-(EMERALD CORLYN VERDANIO POV)-

~7:30 PM~

Dean: Where are you? Kanina pa kita hinihintay.

Dean: Babe? Please answer me.

It felt like my feet were stuck to the ground, and I couldn't move them no matter how much I tried. Pakiramdam ko na-paralyse ang ibabang katawan ko.

Namataan ko ang mga gamot na antidepressants na nasa vanity table, my mind having numerous thoughts once more.

(You are nothing!)

(You are useless!!)

(You don’t deserve to be here in this world)

(You don’t deserve everything here.)

Those thoughts came rushing my mind like wildfire, tears streaming down my face as I stood up and grabbed the medicines.

(That’s it, do it… no one loves you anyway..)

(Just do it!! Your husband will meet you in the afterlife…)

“Lal…” I whispered before intaking all of the medicines, causing me to fall on the floor.

“Shit, Emy… come on, pick up the phone.” I mumbled as I waited for the lights to turn green.

“Fvck, you better not kill yourself again, Emerald.”

Pinaandar ko ng mabilis ang aking kotse, never minding the cars in front of me as I sped up, the horn blaring as I tried to arrive on her location.

Nang makarating ako sa bahay nito, dali dali akong lumabas sa aking kotse at nagtungo sa harap ng pinto, banging on it when I realised it was locked.

“Emerald, open the fvcking door!” I snarled, anxiety creeping under my skin as I continued.

“Putangina.” Bulong ko nang malapitan ko ito, quickly lifting her up without second thought.

Nilabas ko ito sa kanyang kwarto at nagtungo sa kotse ko, putting her in the back seat upang madala ko ito sa hospital.

“The fvck is wrong with you, babe?” I mumbled before closing the door, quickly heading to the driver’s side.

Agad kong pinaandar ang kotse nang makapasok ako, anxiety and fear was enveloping my mind as I look at her from time to time.

Please… stay alive….

-(GELAL THEODEN FRANCISCO POV)-

~†~

(I just- I bought the same perfume Jace has, I liked the smell of it.) Her words had me thinking over and over, and I can’t focus on my work because of it.

I sighed, quickly pressing on the intercom. “Silas, kindly bring me some coffee please.” Wika ko.

“Sir, there is also a woman here who claims to be your wife, shall I let her in?” He proclaims, which caused me to wonder.

“Who is she?” I asked curiously.

“I asked her, Sir. Her name is Jescel.” He answered.

“Alright, let her in and bring me a cup of coffee, thank you.” Giit ko bago sumandal sa swivel chair.

“Hey baby.” She started as soon as she opened the door, her free hand holding a paper bag.

"Hi. What's that you have there?" I asked as I played with the pen in my hand.

"I bought your favourite, ginataang papaya." She answered as she raised the bag, a small smile on her face.

My brows were furrowed as soon as I heard her sentence, wondering if I heard that correctly.

"Favourite?" I asked while my brows were furrowed.

"Yes, don't you like it?"

"No, I prefer afritada.” Sagot ko rito na naging dahilan upang lumingon ito sa akin.

“But I just cooked this for you.” She answered back.

“Kahit niluto mo pa yan, hindi ko kakainin yan.” Wika ko. “Call Silas, magpapa-order na lang ako.”

“Love-” She stated but was cut off when I spoke.

“You can leave, Jes. Iuwi mo na lang ang niluto mo or you can give it to the guards downstairs.”

As I heard her groan in annoyance, I watched her turn her back from me and stomped her way towards the door, slamming it afterwards.

“Women…” I whispered before noticing a file on my screen.

“Sir, I was told that you were calling me?” I looked up to see Silas, entering my office.

“Yes, order some food for me, please.” I ordered before looking back on the screen of my laptop.

“Okay, Sir. Shall I order the usual?” He asked.

“Yes.” I answered.

“Sir, don’t mind if I ask but, who was the girl just now?” He asked once again.

“That’s my wife.” I answered plainly before looking at him once again.

“May I know her name, Sir?” He asked again.

“Why?” I asked back.

“It is because I was confused, Sir. She clearly does not look like your wife.” He answered, which confused me.

“What do you mean by that, Silas?” I asked confusingly.

“Sir, everyone knows who your wife is. Pinagmamalaki mo pa nga siya sa akin at sinasabi mong proud ka sa kanya.” He answered.

“I said that?” I asked confusingly.

He nodded. “Yes, you even told me her name.” He answered. “That is why I was confused because you told me that woman was your wife, which seems to me, is not.”

I was dumbfounded as soon as I heard Silas’ explanation, and I couldn’t even think of an answer.

“It looks like you were stunned, Sir. Forgive me if I have become talkative at this hour.” He stated, bowing his head politely.

“What was the woman’s name?” I asked, intrigued by his words.

“I’m sorry?” He proclaimed, seemingly to not hear what I said.

“I told you, what was the woman’s name that I told you was my wife?” I asked again.

“If I’m not mistaken, her name was Emily, I think.”  He answered but still seems to be wondering.

“What was her last name?” I asked once again.

“Her last name was Verdanio, I just can’t think of her first name. I think it was, Ellie, no.. Amy…” He retorted as he thought of the woman’s name.

“Just forget it, Silas. Gawin-” Ngunit naputol ang aking sasabihin nang sumagot na ito.

“Emy! Her name is Emy Verdanio. That was the name of your wife, Sir.” He answered, which caused me to think even more.

Emy…Emy Verdanio?

Impossible…

“Pero, kung asawa niyo po yung babae kanina, ibig sabihin divorced na po kayo ni Ms. Emy?” Wika nito na naging dahilan upang lalo akong maguluhan.

What more does this guy know about my life?

-(JESCEL THYLANE VELASTRO POV)-

~•~

My heart continuously bounced rapidly as I listened to their conversation, my hands were turning into fists as I peeked at the slightly opened door of his office.

Anxiety was swallowing my system, and I can’t help but think that our plan is gonna be screwed. Without warning and second thought, I dialled Jace’s number as I walked away from the front of Gelal’s office, making my way towards the elevator.

“Hello?” He asked as soon as he answered the call.

“Alam na ni Gelal ang totoong pangalan ng asawa niya.” Giit ko at saka pumasok sa elevator nang magbukas iyon.

“Shit, sinong nagsabi sa kanya?” Tanong nito.

“His secretary, you better make your fvcking move, kung hindi, ako ang tatapos sa babaeng yun.”

I will kill her… and I will make sure of that…
