Kinakabahang lumapit ako rito para magmano. Nang makita ko itong ngumiti sa akin ay bahagyang nabawasan ang kabang nararamdaman ko.

“I never thought that the only granddaughter of Isadora Fortalejo will visit us today. It’s nice to see you here tonight.”

Ngumiti ito at bumeso sa aking pisngi. Ilang sandali pa ay bumaling ito kay Sandro at ngumiti sa kaniyang apo.

“Thank you, Sandro for bringing her here. Look at your girlfriend, she’s so pretty and she looks smart as well and charming. She has all the qualities you’ve been looking for a woman. Right, Lisa?”

Bumaling ang Lola ni Sandro sa kaniyang Mama na si Tita Louise. Tita Louise is looking at me with a small smile on her face. I remember our first ever encounter in the hospital. I remember when she hugged me back then just to calm me.

“Yes, Mama. Ira is such a combination of beauty and brains. She’s also a lawyer like me. But sh
