Brielle's POV

“Zane!” Lucien's voice thundered in the hospital as he stormed in. Zane was restrained to a bed, the look he had scared me at first glance.

“What is wrong with you?”

“Alpha,” A doctor stopped Lucien from moving further.

“Your brother appears to be suffering some sort of mental breakdown. So if you don't mind, we will need you to take it easy on him,”

“Breakdown?” Lucien reacted.

“What's happening to my brother?” He asked the doctors. Their faces explained enough that they had no idea what was wrong with him.

“Zane,” I called out softly. He responded to my voice by turning his gaze to me, his eyes were blood red and teary. It carried a mix of emotions that I couldn't describe. Pain, anger, fear, sadness. All of them bubbled inside of him and it hurt me to see him like that.

“Just give us time to work,” The doctor ushered us to the waiting room. Lucien was unsettled, looking over his shoulders to his brother. I could feel how worried he was and it was an overwhelming sensation because I was worried as well.

“We are going to administer a sedative to help him calm down but I suggest you investigate what triggered him,”

“Elaborate doctor,” Lucien demanded with a cold look.

“He didn't just react, his wolf did as well,” The doctor responded swiftly.

“Something that was burnt into his subconscious came bubbling up. Fear, trauma but something,”

“Okay,” Lucien exhaled.

“The sooner he is normal, the faster we will know the trigger,”

“I will get to work,” The doctor said before stepping away.

I sat beside him, feeling how uneasy he was as he held his head up with both hands. My fingers twitched as I hesitated to reach him. I was afraid of the emotion he might let out from my physical contact.

Just before my hands could reach him, he leaned closer. Gently, I caressed his head and let out a deep sigh.

“This is a lot,” he muttered as he relaxed on my shoulders.

I looked out the window and noticed that it was already dawn and the sun was coming up.

“We will figure this out together, I promise,” I said and he inhaled deeply. I could feel his breath moving on my neck, the tingling sensation was one that crumbled my composure.

“I can't lose another person,” He said. I turned to see a heavy look in his eyes, he was on edge.

“You won't,”

His gaze was fixated on my lips, leaning closer with every intense second. Closer till our lips collided. I kissed him deeply, my eyes shut as I felt my heart go ablaze from the storming feeling.

“Erm..” A fake cough interrupted.

“Angelina? Why are you up?” Lucien asked warmly.

“You are supposed to be resting. I didn't need you freaking out as well,”

“Is it true?” She inquired, her voice trembling with her hands.

“They said Zane tried to commit suicide,”

“The doctors are with him, they said he is going to be fine,” He replied.

“Thank God,” She sighed in relief. Her focus turned to me and the smile she had on suddenly blew away. She noticed the intense hate in my eyes, the disgust I felt while watching her.

“Let's take you back to your room,” Lucien insisted. He helped her back to her wardroom while I waited in the visitors area.

I couldn't shake off Romero's words, everything began to make sense, everything aligned to his point but everyone was too blind to see it.

“Miss,” A voice cut through my thoughts. I raised my head that was bowed over my legs to see the cutest eyes from a little girl.

“Why do you look sad, miss?”

“I'm not sad,” I smiled. I composed myself, dumping the heaviness in my chest to respond to her better.

“I am just in need of some sleep. What about you? You seem troubled,”

“My mum is in theater B with my brother but I can't find my way there,” she said, her eyes tearing up gradually. The reflection made her gaze as glassy as ice.

“Can you help me?”

“Uh…” I looked around, seeking assistance from anyone around but the hospital was choked up with activities. Even the securities had their hands full.

I noticed a minimap by the nurse's desk and could spot the directions to her mother's location.

“I will take you,” I uttered. I took her hand and took the route I had taken note of.

“You are pretty,” The little girl remarked and a smile beamed on my face subconsciously.

“You also have a really nice smile,”

“Thank you, you are pretty as well. I guess you take after your mother,” I said as we made a turn to the hallway of the other side of the hospital.

“No, I'm more of a daddy's girl,” she replied. I was surprised at how smooth and fluent she spoke, it was odd for a girl her age.

“Why is your brother in the hospital? Is she okay?” I asked, satisfying my curiosity.

“No, daddy brought him,” she began leaping and humming with excitement as we drew closer to the area.

“Mummy is with him, keeping him safe until I return,”

“What?” I halted and suddenly an eerie wind blew by. I noticed that I couldn't pick up any scent, none at all.

“Why is your mum keeping him safe? Is she in danger?”

“Of course not, daddy will never hurt us,” She replied with a tone that had me unsettled.

“He might not be out real daddy but he is still my daddy,”

“Little girl,” I muttered, looking around and realized that there was no one around that ward section. The entire area was deserted and I didn't notice that sooner because I was distracted by my conversation with her.

“Who are you?”

“Daddy's girl,” she answered with a smirk, her grip on my hand tightening ridiculously.

“Gorim,” A familiar voice echoed in the hall, causing her to pull her hand of mine swiftly.

“Don't hurt my guest,” His voice was accompanied by impending footsteps that made me shiver with fear. I couldn't breathe, the air appeared to be sucked from the room by his presence. I was quaking uncontrollably, finding strength and will to move but I had neither.

“How… not possible,” I stuttered.

“It is good to see you again, baby girl,” Chase said with a smile as he stood before me. His broad shoulders caused a shadow that covered the whole room.

“I brought her to you, daddy,” The little girl said with a satisfactory smile.

“I told you not to call me that,” he grunted with a heart racing voice that caused the girl to gasp in fright.

“Go meet your mother, I need time with my wife,”

The girl hurried away, leaving me face to face with the demon I had been running from. He waited for her to leave before he turned to me with a smirk,

“Come my Luna, there is much to discuss,”

Epilogue Third Person's POV “How are you holding up?” Rio asked Brielle after the council of Alpha that was held in the Eclipse pack. Brielle decided not to attend the meeting because it felt like torture to be around people at the time. “Fine, everyday, a new process and new method of looking forward,” She responded with a smile. Rio's face was covered in slash scars that were still healing. “It's been weeks but I can still feel the tension,” he confessed as he laid his back against a post. “Crescent pack has begun a democratic form of leadership that will be overseen by Eclipse and the Blue Moon. As from now on, they will elect their own leaders,” “You know soon, this method will spread across other packs,” I pointed out. “Looking forward to it,” he replied with a grin. “It surely beats being born into a responsibility you didn't ask for,” “True,” Brielle reacted. “Everything is going fine, I'm free but yet I don't feel free,” He walked to her side and exhaled heavily. “

Brielle's POV“You think anger adds to strength, it doesn't,” Chase's wolf said. I was spooked when I heard it speak, it wasn't possible for a wolf to speak but I knew Chase wasn't a normal alpha like the rest. He had his paws in Lucien, crushing him to the floor. Rio and Zane were holding the rest of the alphas back and Angelina stood by the corner. She was the first one to notice me. “Why are you doing this?” I asked him. They were all shocked to see me on my feet. I held the dagger I had pulled out of my back and a sudden relief came over me. “Impossible,” Chase remarked. “You won't just die,” “No!” Angelina roared. Lucien transformed back and hurried to me. His body was scarred with claw marks and slashes. “How? Where? What's going on?” He was surprised to see me. His hands couldn't let go of mine as tears escaped his eyes. “I'm sorry, I should have protected you,” “I'm here now and we have a job to finish,” I said to him as I wiped his tears. “It's strange seeing you cry

Third Person's POV Everything felt cold, her mind sunk into the darkness and gradually got pulled into a strange void. An occurrence that caused her to gasp suddenly and jolt awake. Brielle woke up in a room, on a bed. She looked around in confusion and fright and realized it was her old room, the one back home in Crescent. She had almost forgotten how it was. “How?” She asked herself, looking around again curiously. She tried flashing back to what she remembered last but it felt blank to her. She remembered being stabbed by a lady called Angelina but it felt like a dream to her. “Sweetheart,” someone pushed open the room's door. She cowered backwards when he stepped in. It was like seeing a ghost and he was a ghost. “Brielle, are you okay? You seem frightened, honey? Is it the nightmares again?” “Dad,” she exhaled heavily, her heart thumping against her chest as she drew closer to her father. “How…how is this possible?” “How is what?” Her dad asked with a perplexed look. “I

Lucien's POV “You fight like a little boy,” Chase remarked as he crushed my windpipe with his boot. I was only able to take down two alphas before they brought me down. I could hear Rio grunting from a distance as he fought against the alpha from the north. The man fought like a beast, moved like a predator stalking its prey. He took Rio by surprise, faster than his size. “I never liked you, Lucien. I told your sister that you are nothing to me and she tried to make your existence somewhat meaningful,” He spoke with pride in his voice as he applied more force on the boot that was against my throat. “Y…you are going to die for that,” I wheezed. The air in my lungs slowly went out but I knew I had to keep fighting, I had to keep Brielle safe, I had to keep my brother safe. It was my responsibility. “I would love to s__” That was the point of his sentence that I heard. My eyes became instantly filled with a buzzing sound that disoriented my entire system. My hands shivered tremendo

Brielle's POV“Where are they?” I asked her. She stood still and slowly, the darkness around began to clear up. It was sucked into a vortex above. That was when I realized that I was in a room with chains and weapons around. “Brielle,* Zane called out behind me. I ran into his arms as he stood by the edge of the room with the Priestess. “How did you get in here?” The priestess asked. “She heard the voices,” Suzie responded as she gently changed into a new pair of shoes. “She could hear the voices of the damned. Maybe because she is part of the damned,” “What is she talking about?” I was curious to know. The look on the priestess face made it scarier to want to know. “Only few people are allowed to hear the other side, listen to what they say, the story they have to say. We call them Whisperers,” The priestess explained as she took a seat next to the fireplace. Her old raggy clothes couldn't hide the fear she felt. “Do you want to tell her?” Suzie referred to the Priestess. “D

Lucien's POV.“I need them here as soon as possible,” I said to the squad leader on the phone. “And General, stay safe,” “Brielle! Damn it!” Rio's voice caught my attention. It was coming from.the dining chambers. I hurried in to meet his hand on her, she was looking almost lifeless. “Rio!” I growled and pulled him away from her. “What the fuck did you do to her?” I held her hand and it was cold as ice. She was mumbling words that I couldn't understand, saying them on repeat as she was glued to the spot she stood. I couldn't move her, it was like moving an unmovable pillar. “She's sucked into wherever they are,” Rio replied as he examined her beside me. “I saw her got called by it. She was drawn to it, they wanted her in there,” “Who is they? You keep saying they, I didn't even know who THEY are,” I retorted. I was falling deeper into the confusion with each glance. I had no idea what to do because both my brother and the priestess that could help were both trapped in wherever
