Even though people were cautious following William Mackenzie, they sewed their gaze to William who made his way to the bar, where Monica was seated by herself because she was the only guest who didn't seem to be trying to impress William. In addition, people made fun of her for having little knowledge of William Mackenzie, which may have contributed to her lack of social status.

“Wine, please!” William said to the sommelier and sat next to Monica who took a piece of wings and sucked the juice from it, which tasted fine with the wine. She believed this was the tranquility she was lacking after meeting and conversing with people.

Good grief! Some women don't know how to take a direct hint. However, William's reaction was overboard and very harsh. Let's hope that she learnt her lesson.
