The faceless Luna made my skills look like a joke. I spent every sword strike trying to keep my head safe from all her attempts to kill me. She barely spoke a word and disappeared into nothing after almost killing me countless times. I had Mark, the Pack’s doctor , check out some of the injuries I sustained because they refused to heal as fast as every other wound. “I need to see whatever is doing this, because it doesn't seem normal any longer.” Mark sighed, shaking his head. And now, Alpha Harrison and a part of his pack stood before me. Nia was right beside him, and I couldn't help but look at her. “Alpha Sorren!” Harrison chuckled. “Thank you for letting us stay in your pack.” “Don't mention.” I responded. “You don't have to be so cold.” He rolled his eyes, moving over to hug Selina. Nia moved closer, looked in my eyes as she pulled me in for a hug like her mate had done with Selina. “Don't touch me.” I growled softly so that she'd be the only one to hear. She pulled away seconds later, and we all stood again. “You must be very tired from your journey.” Selina smiled. “Come in and have something to eat.” As they led them in, my eyes caught the lady that bore a resemblance to Mira, and I noticed that she had her eyes on someone. I took a quick glance at who she was looking at, and it was Mira. She looked very terrified , and I was very interested in knowing what was happening. We all sat at the table. Harrison was at my right, and Selina was at my left. Khalid stood behind me. Nia was beside her mate. We exchanged too many glances for people sitting down with their partners. The omegas filled the table while Harrison bored me with unnecessary information about the battles he has been fighting. “Where is the rogue you bought from me?!” Harrison asked out of the blue, and everyone's eyes widened. “Why do you care?” I asked, answering with so much calm. “I bought her from you, and that's where your interests end.” “Why's he so uptight?” Harrison asked Selina, pointing his index finger at me in a mocking manner. “He's not always like that, trust me.” Selina chuckled. I was getting irritated by Nia’s silence, and the consistent scheming of the lookalike. Mira came in with the other omegas, and I could see the way her hand shook like she was about to be killed. She walked close to me and dropped a big bowl of chicken close to where I sat. “Here she is.” Alpha Harrison chuckled, and everyone's attention turned to Mira. I'd eventually have to scold whoever is making her do so much work when she literally just arrived at the pack. Alpha Harrison raised his hand to slap Mira’s butt since it had pushed out to the back because she bent. His hand was so close to touching her when I caught him, stopping it by less than an inch. “I'd advise that you be less barbaric.” I growled at him, sending him a death stare. “Your mate is right there, and you're performing such a shameless act.” He broke into laughter and I yanked his hand down, making him laugh harder. Selina and the others at the table chuckled nervously. “Why are you serving? Aren't you in the cleaning group?” I asked Mira through a mind link. “I… I… I… was filling in for someone…” She responded with a shaky voice. How the hell does one even have a shaky voice when it's a mind link?! “Do you realize that that's her sister right over there?” Alpha Harrison pointed at the one that sent Mira a death stare. “I am Arianna.” The lady stood up and bowed gently. “What am I supposed to do with that information?” I asked, turning to Alpha Harrison. “Just to show you that I got the better end of the bargain.” He chuckled. Raina and the others brought in more food. I caught Arianna staring at Mira so much that I got annoyed. Mira was already walking out when I decided to do something very impulsive. “Mira.” I called back, and I heard her gasp from where I sat. “Have a seat and eat with us.” Selina looked at me with widened eyeballs. Nia was shocked by my sudden command, and Harrison just seemed intrigued by it. “After all, her sister eats with us at the same table.” I added a reason that seemed good enough. “Oh oh.” Harrison muttered. “Your Luna has to be careful, else she might just be displaced.” The look of terror on Mira’s face at that statement made me more worried. Slowly, she took her seat, and I pulled Selina close and planted a kiss on her lips in front of everyone so much that she was shocked. “Don't listen to the low life.” I whispered to her, and her face brightened up immediately. “Shall we eat?” Selina asked with a bright smile, grabbing the fork on the table. “Alpha, can I leave?” Raina asked through a mind link. She was standing behind Arianna who was about to take her first bite of the meal. “I've done something a little too mischievous.” Raina has always been my favourite omega. She was always very vocal about her feelings and thoughts, and she was the best fit for Mira. “Leave.” I responded, and she hurriedly walked out. Mira had food on her plate, but she just stared at it like it was not something she could eat. I hate that I'm too concerned about her. I shouldn't be bothered, but I am. “What the fuck?!” Arianna snapped, spitting out her first taste of the food into the handkerchief that was closest to her. “What's wrong?” Nia asked her. “It's so fucking salty.” She rolled her eyes. An omega tasted the same food and shook her head. “It isn't salty.” She said, but the traumatized Arianna lashed out at her. I scoffed, seeing that Raina had laced her spoon with salt, only enough for the first taste, given that she doesn't stir the food. A risky gamble. The drama went on and on, but I was more focused on Mira just fiddled with her food, probably feeling very out of place. “Sorren, can I speak with you in private?” Nia asked in front of everyone. I was about to respond when Peter rushed in, walking towards me like some incident had happened. He whispered words to Khalid who in turn bent over to whisper them to me. “The hunters have been spotted.”Sorren’s POV I walked around the room as Mark took care of Mira. We were about to leave the library when she suddenly changed. She had been stabilized, but Mark hadn't found a root cause for whatever was happening to her. “Alpha.” Khalid muttered, walking into the room. “What is it?” I asked, walking closer to him. “Lady Selina wants to see you.” Khalid muttered. I glanced at Mira’s body on the bed, wondering how she was feeling. Earlier, I just couldn't take the thought that someone else had made her laugh. It made me feel weird. I turned to look at Mark, who was checking her out. “Send me an update as soon as she's fine.” I demanded. “I will, Alpha.” he growled, and I left the room with Khalid. My mind was drawn to Nia and the dilemma she was apparently in. “What do you think I should do?” I asked, folding my arms as I slowed down my pace. Khalid took a deep breath, very knowledgeable about my relationship with Nia and how vulnerable I seemed to be around her. “Whatever
Mira’s POV I watched Alpha Sorren drag Luna Nia away. Knots formed in my stomach, and I felt like vomiting at the sight, but I remained calm. I took the book I was reading the last time, and thankfully, I still had my pencil on me. I found a place to sit, wondering what business Alpha Sorren had with Luna Nia. I was using my pencil to continue what I was doing. I didn't realize that Khalid had crept in on me and was standing right behind me. “What are you drawing?” His voice jolted me, causing me to jump. The book flew out of my hands, and the pencil fell. Khalid chuckled as I grabbed the book and hugged it. “I'm sorry.” I muttered fearfully.“No, I'm sorry.” Khalid chuckled, walking closer. He had his seat beside me. “I startled you. What are you drawing?”I swallowed hard, unsure of what to say as I could be punished. “I'm sorry.” I muttered. “I can erase everything I've drawn.” “No, Mira.” Khalid rolled his eyes, making himself comfortable beside me.He stretched out his hand
Sorren’s POV I spent the whole night on guard since the hunters didn't come close. Thankfully, Selina was at peace with me, nor bothering about the stupid words Harrison had uttered. My mind was filled with chaos, moving from Selina to Nia to Mira. Mira had the most time in my headspace. I was annoyed that she'd let her younger sister trample on her that much that she was so scared of her. “Alpha? Do you think the hunters would be back?” Peter asked, jolting me out of my thoughts.“Well, I think so.” I sighed, folding my arms. “If they don't attack tonight, it'd be because they know of Harrison’s presence.” “So, what do you want us to do?” Khalid asked, awaiting instructions. “I'll figure it out.” I said, like my mind wasn't already filled with thoughts of three women.“I'll stay on guard, Alpha.” Khalid whispered to me. “You should get some sleep.”“I will. I just need some fresh air.” I sighed.“Is it because Luna Nia is here?” Khalid asked, and I shot him a glare, forcing him
Mira’s POV Alpha Sorren looked disturbed, although my current dilemma was being at that table, and the most horrible comment Alpha Harrison had made that'd probably put me in a lot of trouble with Lady Selina. “I'd like to excuse myself from the table to check out a situation.” Alpha Sorren growled, leaving the table. I started shaking my leg nervously as I stared at the food on my plate, unable to eat it. I thought about leaving since Alpha Sorren had headed out, but my legs were too weak. My knees kept shaking, and I couldn't even try to stand. “So, what do you think about the meal?” Lady Selina asked Alpha Harrison who chuckled and gave interesting compliments. I maintained eye contact with Arianna for a few seconds until Alpha Sorren walked back in. “It was a false alarm.” He said, taking his seat. He looked disturbed, but everyone kept eating. After what felt like an eternity of stirring food endlessly, I eventually left the table, and I ran straight to my room. I could h

Mira’s POV Unable to leave my bed, I kept staring at the door, thinking about how to escape whatever Arianna and Alpha Harrison would throw at me. Arianna would definitely do everything to make my life miserable, and I might never be able to avoid it. There was another knock, and I shifted uncomfortably on the bed, imagining it to be Lady Selina. “Mira, it's me.” Raina’s voice came, making me calm. “Come in.”Raina walked in with her arms folded. She sat on the chair Alpha Sorren had just sat in. I hoped that she wouldn't catch his scent and then question me about it. “Look, I'm sorry.” She said, making me surprised. “I only reacted like that because I was jealous.” I almost forgot the pressing issue before Alpha Sorren came to deliver more bad news. “Because Justin told me to clean instead of you?” I asked, and her face flushed in embarrassment. That was the only thing I could think of since things went wrong at that time. “Yes.” She rolled her eyes, taking a deep breath. “H
