Alpha Sorren looked disturbed, although my current dilemma was being at that table, and the most horrible comment Alpha Harrison had made that'd probably put me in a lot of trouble with Lady Selina. “I'd like to excuse myself from the table to check out a situation.” Alpha Sorren growled, leaving the table. I started shaking my leg nervously as I stared at the food on my plate, unable to eat it. I thought about leaving since Alpha Sorren had headed out, but my legs were too weak. My knees kept shaking, and I couldn't even try to stand. “So, what do you think about the meal?” Lady Selina asked Alpha Harrison who chuckled and gave interesting compliments. I maintained eye contact with Arianna for a few seconds until Alpha Sorren walked back in. “It was a false alarm.” He said, taking his seat. He looked disturbed, but everyone kept eating. After what felt like an eternity of stirring food endlessly, I eventually left the table, and I ran straight to my room. I could hear Raina running behind me, but it didn't make me run any less faster. I jumped on the bed, grabbing my chest as it hurt badly. Raina hugged me, kissing my forehead and patting me on the back. “You're fine, Mira.” She assured me. “No one's gonna hurt you. Not on my watch, not on Alpha Sorren’s watch.” My heart was beating so fast because my mind kept replaying the several ways Alpha Sorren stood up for me. He risked fighting another Alpha because of me… a mere omega. “That salt trick made me feel too good.” I chuckled, and Raina burst into laughter. “That was just a 50-50 thing.” She chuckled. “I was scared it wasn't going to work initially.” We remained in my room for most of the night. I had expected Arianna to come in search of me to torment me, but it looked like she had more on her plate. The next morning came, and I quietly performed my duties with the rest of the team, alongside Raina. I was too lucky to have Raina. “There are hunters around, so when you see Alpha Sorren or go with him to the library, make sure you don't stress him.” Raina told me when we were heading back after early morning cleaning. “Why does he even ask me to go with him?” I asked her, feeling a little shy. “Who knows? He definitely has a good reason. Just do whatever he wants you to do.” I nodded gently, strengthening my resolve to always do better. We took a few more steps, and I heard a clap that was way too familiar. It made me stop walking immediately. Raina who had taken more steps forward turned back to look at what was happening. “I see you have found a friend who's just as miserable as you are.” Arianna scoffed. I turned back slowly to see that she had folded her arms, and was eyeing me like I was a disgusting piece of scum. “And who do you think you are to call us miserable?” Raina scoffed. “You seem to not be looking in the mirror.” “You dare talk back at me?!” Arianna growled, taking a step closer. I saw that she was getting closer to using her hands. “This is not your pack, bitch.” Raina rolled her eyes, and I felt bothered. “This is the Pinnacle pack, and we don't just throw hands here.” “I'll have you beaten, and then I'll have you parade round the place naked!” Arianna growled. “You boast of things that you'd never be able to do, and it's sickening.” Raina hissed. “Is she now your mouthpiece?” Arianna scoffed, seeing she couldn't bully Raina. “Are you her mouthpiece?” “Arianna, leave me… alone.” I muttered, barely looking at her in the eyes. “She speaks.” Arianna cackled. “You don't have to be harsh, especially when I've done nothing to annoy you.” I growled, and she rolled her eyes. “Leave.” Raina growled. “Before this escalates and you make a fool of yourself.” “You will not tell me what to do.” Arianna snapped. “Leave.” I repeated. “I said, shut up!” Arianna raised her hand to slap me. Her hand was so close to reaching my face when a strong hand grabbed her hand and yanked it back. I gasped, feeling my heart thump. I'd have taken the slap without any trouble, but this level of protection felt different. “Did you just try to slap her?!” Khalid growled, fuming angrily. He pushed Arianna against the wall , and I yelped. “This was just a sisterly discussion.” Arianna tried to cover it up. “Was it?” Khalid asked, looking at me. Raina folded her arms and also looked at me as if my answer determined our friendship. “Please, can this be over already?” I asked Khalid who looked at me kindly. “Leave!” Khalid growled at Arianna who winked at me before leaving. “Freshen up. When the Alpha is done escorting the Stone Creek pack out of the territory, you'd be in the library.” I nodded, and we left. Raina packed my hair into four huge rows, and chose a dress for me. It was bigger than I expected, but I liked the fit. “Be careful, and don't annoy anyone.” She muttered, and I nodded calmly. “But that doesn't mean you should take nonsense.” “Know when to fight for yourself and when not to.” She growled, and I nodded, strengthening my resolve to become very strong. Khalid came to get me not long after I was done wearing some perfume. I walked behind him silently, speaking only when spoken to. “You look like you'd make interesting conversations.” Khalid shrugged. “I really hope you get out of this shell quickly enough.” I wanted to crawl into my flesh as I felt goosebumps all over me. It seems like they don't despise me so much at this pack. “Do you know why Alpha Sorren wants me there?” I asked as we approached the library. “Honestly, I don't know.” Khalid chuckled and shrugged, glancing at me for a second. “I don't know what goes on in his head most of the time.” We walked in, and I saw Alpha Sorren. He nudged at Khalid who immediately left. Alpha Sorren charged at me, looking very angry. My heart thumped until he was standing right in front of me. He kept walking, and I started taking steps backwards, until I hit my back against the wall. “Why are you always so scared?” He asked. I could feel his eyes piercing through my skull. He grabbed my neck and forced me to look at him. For the first time, I didn't mind my neck being held like that. I wasn't choking like most times. He was very gentle. “Why do you let people trample on your feelings every single time?” He asked, and I couldn't get past the beauty of his blue eyes. “I'm… learning.” I coughed out, although he didn't leave my neck. We just kept looking at each other with no words to say. I heard someone walk in, but we were still in that position. I wanted to shift away, but I didn't want to at the same time. This felt more comfortable than any other way I've ever felt. “Erm… Sorren?” Someone called, and I shifted uncomfortably. Alpha Sorren left my neck, and we both looked at who was standing. “I need to speak with you.” The Luna of the Stone Creek pack said. “Nia.”Sorren’s POV I walked around the room as Mark took care of Mira. We were about to leave the library when she suddenly changed. She had been stabilized, but Mark hadn't found a root cause for whatever was happening to her. “Alpha.” Khalid muttered, walking into the room. “What is it?” I asked, walking closer to him. “Lady Selina wants to see you.” Khalid muttered. I glanced at Mira’s body on the bed, wondering how she was feeling. Earlier, I just couldn't take the thought that someone else had made her laugh. It made me feel weird. I turned to look at Mark, who was checking her out. “Send me an update as soon as she's fine.” I demanded. “I will, Alpha.” he growled, and I left the room with Khalid. My mind was drawn to Nia and the dilemma she was apparently in. “What do you think I should do?” I asked, folding my arms as I slowed down my pace. Khalid took a deep breath, very knowledgeable about my relationship with Nia and how vulnerable I seemed to be around her. “Whatever
Mira’s POV I watched Alpha Sorren drag Luna Nia away. Knots formed in my stomach, and I felt like vomiting at the sight, but I remained calm. I took the book I was reading the last time, and thankfully, I still had my pencil on me. I found a place to sit, wondering what business Alpha Sorren had with Luna Nia. I was using my pencil to continue what I was doing. I didn't realize that Khalid had crept in on me and was standing right behind me. “What are you drawing?” His voice jolted me, causing me to jump. The book flew out of my hands, and the pencil fell. Khalid chuckled as I grabbed the book and hugged it. “I'm sorry.” I muttered fearfully.“No, I'm sorry.” Khalid chuckled, walking closer. He had his seat beside me. “I startled you. What are you drawing?”I swallowed hard, unsure of what to say as I could be punished. “I'm sorry.” I muttered. “I can erase everything I've drawn.” “No, Mira.” Khalid rolled his eyes, making himself comfortable beside me.He stretched out his hand
Sorren’s POV I spent the whole night on guard since the hunters didn't come close. Thankfully, Selina was at peace with me, nor bothering about the stupid words Harrison had uttered. My mind was filled with chaos, moving from Selina to Nia to Mira. Mira had the most time in my headspace. I was annoyed that she'd let her younger sister trample on her that much that she was so scared of her. “Alpha? Do you think the hunters would be back?” Peter asked, jolting me out of my thoughts.“Well, I think so.” I sighed, folding my arms. “If they don't attack tonight, it'd be because they know of Harrison’s presence.” “So, what do you want us to do?” Khalid asked, awaiting instructions. “I'll figure it out.” I said, like my mind wasn't already filled with thoughts of three women.“I'll stay on guard, Alpha.” Khalid whispered to me. “You should get some sleep.”“I will. I just need some fresh air.” I sighed.“Is it because Luna Nia is here?” Khalid asked, and I shot him a glare, forcing him

Sorren’s POV The faceless Luna made my skills look like a joke. I spent every sword strike trying to keep my head safe from all her attempts to kill me. She barely spoke a word and disappeared into nothing after almost killing me countless times. I had Mark, the Pack’s doctor , check out some of the injuries I sustained because they refused to heal as fast as every other wound. “I need to see whatever is doing this, because it doesn't seem normal any longer.” Mark sighed, shaking his head. And now, Alpha Harrison and a part of his pack stood before me. Nia was right beside him, and I couldn't help but look at her.“Alpha Sorren!” Harrison chuckled. “Thank you for letting us stay in your pack.” “Don't mention.” I responded.“You don't have to be so cold.” He rolled his eyes, moving over to hug Selina. Nia moved closer, looked in my eyes as she pulled me in for a hug like her mate had done with Selina. “Don't touch me.” I growled softly so that she'd be the only one to hear. She
Mira’s POV Unable to leave my bed, I kept staring at the door, thinking about how to escape whatever Arianna and Alpha Harrison would throw at me. Arianna would definitely do everything to make my life miserable, and I might never be able to avoid it. There was another knock, and I shifted uncomfortably on the bed, imagining it to be Lady Selina. “Mira, it's me.” Raina’s voice came, making me calm. “Come in.”Raina walked in with her arms folded. She sat on the chair Alpha Sorren had just sat in. I hoped that she wouldn't catch his scent and then question me about it. “Look, I'm sorry.” She said, making me surprised. “I only reacted like that because I was jealous.” I almost forgot the pressing issue before Alpha Sorren came to deliver more bad news. “Because Justin told me to clean instead of you?” I asked, and her face flushed in embarrassment. That was the only thing I could think of since things went wrong at that time. “Yes.” She rolled her eyes, taking a deep breath. “H
