MasukMira’s POV It had been two days since the battle against the hunters, and Alpha Sorren still hadn't woken up. That morning, I paced round the room, panicking as Alpha Sorren was in a critical condition. I wasn't allowed to be in the ward with him, especially since Lady Selina had come out of the bunker to be with him. I was locked out of every possible communication with him. I only saw people running helter skelter like the world was coming to an end. “You must not die…” I kept muttering, hoping he'd hear me. I imagined my life without him… his protection and care… I'd be miserable. “Are you still thinking about Alpha Sorren?” Raina’s voice jolted me out of my deep thoughts. I sighed, looking at her from my bed before looking away. “You haven't been out of this room twice in the last two days.” She muttered, jumping on the bed. “Err… that's because I'm not on any official duty, and lady Selina is still too bothered about Alpha Sorren to do the evil things she intends to do to
Sorren’s POV I drew my bow as the silver spread through the area. Once it started making contact with our skins, we'd barely survive. The hunters made protective covers with shields for themselves, thinking I was trying to shoot at them. “Khalid, let's make several openings.” I growled, and he immediately drew his arrow. Justin and two others joined in the challenge. “What are they doing?” The leader asked the moment he realized that we weren't concentrating on him. “Ending this madness, bastard.” I said, releasing the arrow. The arrows only made a little dent in the forcefield that was now visible. It had punctured its pride, but it was still very much strong. “Shit!” I hissed. “We all have to shoot the same spot.” “They've definitely caught onto us now.” Khalid hissed as we drew our bows again, facing the part I had shot. “Increase the speed of the machine, and increase the diameter of the orifice.” The leader of the hunters spewed commands as they were thrown into a frenzy.
Mira’s POV“How much more do we have to chop?” Justin asked, breathing hard as he bent his back to rest. “Just a little more.” I muttered, hoping that it'd work as we planned. “Get your lazy ass to work.” Alpha Sorren cautioned. “You are lucky that we aren't chopping off the whole thing.”Felling the tree would take too much time, and since we just needed a few arrows, we cut from the stem down to the root, more like we peeled the sides in sizable quantities. “Hey, how are you feeling?” Alpha Sorren asked, walking over to me. “I don't know.” I shrugged, watching them take the chopped parts into the house. “I'm hoping that this works, because my integrity and life depends on it.”“Relax, we'll be fine.” He patted me on my shoulder and then walked away. He helped the guys in transporting the wood and making failsafes round the pack. We sharpened the cut off parts into arrows, and it took a great deal of time. Justin had to bring some of the omegas to help with the work, and as expe
Mira’s POV I walked back to my room, and I closed the door behind me, breathing hard as I couldn't stop thinking about Alpha Sorren. He was really going out of his way to protect me. He was so soft spoken and calm that it was making me go nuts. The way he'd hover and mutter calm words to me just made me lose composure. I held my neck, tracing the parts his hot breath had graced with their touch. I held my waist, closing my eyes to remember how he touched me. I gently bit my lower lip, feeling so much pleasure. There was a knock on the door that jolted me out of dreamland. I immediately composed myself, shaking my head and adjusting my cloth. “Raina?” I muttered, opening the door. She barged in, looking very pissed off”“You're alive?!” She yelped with a bit of disbelief and happiness. “Uh… yeah?” I scoffed , raising my brows.“I heard that you were taken by Lady selina and tortured?” She asked, checking parts of my body to see if I was truly hurt. “Yes, I was.” “Then, how are
Sorren’s POV I shifted into my wolf, making it easier and faster for me to reach the borders. I could hear Khalid and the others trailing behind me. I howled, calling for everyone that didn't already know that we were under the attack of a possible siege. By the time I got there, the walls had already been made. The circle of wolfsbane had been completed around the pack. I growled from a distance as I made eye contact with the hunters. I shifted back to my human state to converse with them. Their leader stood in front with his sword. There was a smirk on his face that only annoyed me more.“I will kill every single one of you, I swear by the gods!” I growled, and they laughed. They cackled so loudly that I felt disrespected. Khalid and the others arrived at that time, staying directly behind me, all in their wolves. “What are your demands?” Khalid asked, shifting into his human form. Their leader cackled, shaking his head. He brought out a cigar, and one of his men lit it up fo
Sorren’s POV I was in the library, patiently waiting for Khalid and Mira to arrive. I didn't wait at the door to avoid a certain look. Since they were taking too much time, I took a walk round the shelves, checking books out. I had a vague memory of the book she was reading, so I searched for it. After walking around the shelves twice, I finally found it in a corner. There was a small pencil by the side which made it easier to locate. I gently picked it out, checking out the pages. I opened the last page, and I saw the greatest pencil drawing of my entire life.“This is a sunflower, isn't it?” I mumbled to myself, checking if there was another drawing. Her attention to detail was insanely amazing. She barely had any instruments, yet she made something so magnificent. It was truly mind blowing. I caught Mira’s scent walking in, so I gently placed the book back in its place like I never touched it, and I moved over to another space to select a new book. I watched her walk in behin
