19. Nightmares

My throat feels dry, but I manage to let my voice out.

"Wait!"

Logan halts, then slowly turn around to face me again. "What's up?"

"I didn't say you had to leave," I declare. I just need some time to process this, but I need him to be here to answer all my questions.

"After everything I told you about me, you still want me to stay?" Logan looks at me with surprise.

"Ye...yea...just sit down. I am trying to figure this out. So the guy you killed..."

"He is not dead," Logan corrects me.

"Okay...the guy you hurt really badly. Does he have a family?" I asked. I don't know why I wanted to know. I probably won't like the answer.

Logan shrugged. "I have no idea. I was told not to ask these kinds of questions. His personal life is irrelevant. My job was to scare the living shit out of him."

I gulp. I could tell Logan didn't feel much remorse, and that worries me. Is he a sociopath?

"And you don't feel bad at all? Did you enjoy it?" I feel dizzy. I still can't wrap my head around this.
