Chapter 3

last update Last Updated: 2021-05-19 01:27:57

The next morning went as usual. I tried to call Sylvi (my best friend) a few times, there was no answer. I was worried, she usually was a stick up my ass, but the good kind.

I decided to send a quick message to Gunny and Sylvi. I needed to discuss what just happened with them before this lunch date.

Hey guys, something crazy happened.

Don’t worry I am fine

I need you to call me asap.

Sylvi’s reply came first.

Copy that girl. If I need the shovel

and an alibi just say WINE!

It irritated me that she didn’t answer my call but texted back no problem. Another message from Gunny appeared in the top banner.

I will be off the grid for another 3 days.

Sylvi- take care of our girl.

I allowed myself to get lost in some work. I wanted to distract myself from needing to make so many major life choices. My happy-ever-after with Kilian was over, I needed to accept it and get the ball rolling.

I glanced down at the clock on my computer and noticed I was late. Shit. I looked in the mirror and realized I looked exhausted. My hair was a mix of light brown and natural red highlights that hung to the middle of my back. The status of it making me think of a hurricane.

I took it down and ran the brush through it quickly before throwing it into a quick loose braid. I grabbed me clothes and headed into the bathroom to splash some water on my face.

I looked at my jeans and my royal blue tank I put on in the mirror, I have never been extremely confident, but I admired my hard work to tone up my body, it was finally paying off. I rarely wear makeup, but the thought crossed my mind.

I ran out the door, hoping not to miss him. As I reached the far edge of the cleared property, I looked around for him.

“Every time I lay my eyes on you, my heart skips a beat.” His deep voice sang.

I jumped at the words. Turning to face him. His eyes were as I remembered, hazel with a deep green rim. The gold in the center mesmerized me.

His broad shoulders were larger than our last life. He was always strong, but this time he looked like he was raised a soldier. The tattoos that covered his skin were exquisite.

I let my eyes wash over him noticing a few scars. One was over his left eye, another on the right side of his neck. His dark brown hair concealed it well. It was about shoulder length, I wanted to wrap my fingers thru it.

I stepped towards him placing my pale hand against his tan skin. I giggled for some reason thinking of the vanilla caramel coffee box at the store.

He reached out taking my hand leading me into the woods. My skin ignited at the touch. I wrapped my hands around him needing to feel his warmth. He pulled his body away from mine, leading me onward.

“I am sorry I was a couple minutes late, I lost track of myself this morning,” I blurted.

“I thought you had already left, and I realized I would not know how to get in touch with you.” Now speaking calmly.

“You do not need to apologize princess, I just wanted to make sure that you were alone.” He replied.

We walked for few minutes and came to a clearing; it was beautiful with the Huge trees surrounding the area where the sun beamed through. I stood staring at the huge trees for a moment while he set up the blanket and food.

He brought grapes, crackers, two or three types of cheese and cantaloupe. This was perfect. The butterflies in my stomach made eating doubtful. Just then he pulled out the mini ham and turkey sliders. I grabbed one and started chewing on it to prevent myself from rambling. So much for not being able to eat.

“Do you want me to let you be? For the rest of Kilian’s life anyways.” He asked softly.

“Okay. To be honest it is all a little much right now. I don’t know.” I forced out.

“I wasn’t born to wolves this time, maybe we failed and don’t know it.” I said to him hurt.

“Princess, you are still a wolf.” He wasn’t worried.

“Goddess Luna created us, our souls, our energy, is what gives us our abilities. Not the human genetics.” He explained.

“When did you… not important right now.” I stopped myself thinking of my next question.

“How many wolves are around here? Is the outlaw pack still around?” I said.

A shiver ripped through me with the last memory replaying in my head. Tears began to fill my eyes as I felt the emotions I had blocked out, I buried my head into his shoulder. Her wrapped an arm around my shoulder.

“Just my pack and a few guard members.” He shrugged at my raised eyebrow.

“This time around I was born to an Alpha, he worked closely with the guard. We grew up together.” He summarized to quickly for me.

I shook my head trying to wrap my thoughts around living 35 years and not knowing anything about wolves. I know I still have at least another 150 years to go, but 35 years is a lot of time to lose. Time, I spent without my mate.

“I know you don’t want to hurt him.” He interrupted my thoughts.

“I don’t want to live without you either.” I retorted.

He guzzled down his water bottle and the sight turned up the heat. I know that Kilian deserves better. He doesn’t deserve me to just walk away and never look back. I love him and our family, I just can’t explain this.

What if he thinks I have gone insane and tries to keep the kids from me? What if he takes me to the drunk tank and says I’m a threat?

I wanted to turn my brain off so badly. I tiled my head up pressing my lips to his. My body flashed a memory of last night when he woke me up. It responded instantly driving me wild. I felt my nipples harden as the tingle went down my stomach.

“I’ve missed you to much.” I whispered.

Wrapping my hands in his hair I took the kiss deeper. I swung my leg over his other hip to straddle him. My center landing on his manhood pressed against his shorts. The thin fabric allowing me to feel closer.

He moved the kiss to my neck sliding his tongue across the spot he will mark, as he has every lifetime before. He took his finger and traced the area gently. My muscles twitched at the sensitivity.

A moan came from my chest as he cupped my breast into his hand. He took his tongue tracing around the nipple in circles before covering it with his mouth. I pulled his head in closer wanting more.

His hand unbuttoned my pants before lifting me up and placing me underneath him. He pulled them right off showing my light blue lace panties. A low growl came from his chest and my body sent a wave of fluid to my entrance.

It was as if he commanded it. He slid his finger across my panties as feeling the wetness on the outside. He slowly pulled them from my skin. He yanked in a split second and my panties were gone.

“My love.” I said to him wanting him to touch me.

My body was in a whirlwind. He lightly traced his tongue around my pelvis, gently kissing my thighs. I squirmed in anticipation. I felt my core gush when he released another growl.

“I need your touch.” I begged.

He slid a finger into my core. The sensation causing pleasure to cover my entire body. I wanted more, so much more. I began to shift my hips to ride his hand, he withdrew. I whimpered and he chuckled before growling at my entrance causing an uncontrollable orgasm.

My vision started to have black spots appearing. Lex didn’t slow down, he had slid his tongue into my entrance, tasting all of my sweet nectar. He had lifted my hips in the air, my legs were over his shoulders as his hands squeezed my ass.

He began gently licking my swollen lips causing me to shiver, I hadn’t felt like that this whole lifetime. I missed the feeling; my memories didn’t compare.

He always liked to torture me. He hovered at my entrance I felt him slid against the wetness, waiting for me to beg. Remembering he was an Alpha this time around, I grinned.

“Please Alpha, I need you to fill me.” I said seductively.

The growl that was release had some serious power. With my werewolf side dormant I didn’t expect to feel it much. I locked eyes with him submitting to his wolf.

He thrusted deep inside causing me to scream in pleasure. The sound echoed through the forest, but I didn’t care. I wrapped my hands around his face pulling his lips to mine.

He grabbed my wrists with one hand pulling them above my head pinning me to the ground. I pushed my chest up towards his causing him to slide out slightly.

He growled at my defiance pushing my head down with the kiss before adjusting his hips forcing himself deeper. He released my arms wrapping his arm around my waist to bring me up on him.

My legs wrapped around him; our chests glistened with sweat rubbing against each other. I bit down on his neck to hide my moans.

“I want to hear you.” His seductive voice said in my ear.

A few more days passed. Gunny and I finally began to lose hope and devise a plan to search for our missing group. I couldn’t think about what may have happened to them. I wanted to know they were okay. Randolph was a fierce warrior above everything else. It hadn’t been long enough since the last time I thought I may lose him. I needed to find him. No matter the cost. I expected Lex to fight me on leaving, to protest my partner. I always had Alexander by my side. Through the thousands of years, we had been together, we always had each other. When he agreed to stay behind to help develop our settlement, I was shocked. Not knowing the status of Randolph, Helga or the others was to much for both of us to bare. As Gunny and I sat near the fire a few days before the full moon, Freya came running

Waking this time was easier than the last. I was glad that I didn’t feel as restricted waking. I could see the bright light creeping from the open doorway. The curtain along side the bed I slept in was open. I slowly sat up making sure I didn’t move to fast. When I realized I was moving okay and there were no side effects from the tonic Lex gave me I began to move faster. I could hear giggling and kids playing around. My heart leapt, the thought of Freya and Ingrid being here. All the uncertainty in the world had my nerves on edge I just needed to know my family is safe. Sylvi sat with Mason on her lap next to Chase and Killian. Bjorn and Chase decided on using my late ex-husbands name when adopting the little boy. Bjorn felt it was important to ask Helga, Ingrid, and Freya’s permissi

After we were settled, I paced around the complex looking for any weak points. Lex had tried to convince me to get some rest, but I had no need for it. I wanted to make sure the children we brought here were safe. I needed to know when the rest of my pack would arrive, they would be too. “Astrid…” Lex’s voice full of sympathy came from behind me. “I don’t like your tone… Or your guilt.” I responded sensing it through the mate bond. “There was another attack. We lost a few more…” Lex began to explain but I raised my hand cutting him off. &ld

I woke disoriented. I wasn’t sure what was happening around me. I could tell I wasn’t in my bed. I kept my eyes closed trying to hear anything around me. My hearing was distorted, a faded ringing was the only sound in my head. I moved my body slightly careful not to draw attention to myself. I was unable to tell what I was laying on. The only comfort I had was the blanket loosely placed on me. I began to grow inpatient. I forced my eyes open ready for anything. Or so I thought. Looking around the dim-lit cabin I was infuriated. How did I get onto the plane without realizing I had been moved? Many questions began to flood my mind as my vision cleared. I was finally able to see Lex approaching where I laid across the two seats on the plane.

I sat naked, on the floor, in the center of my ritual blanket. The candlelight flickered softly against my skin. I was doing my best to relax and remain open calling to the gods. I wanted reassurance that we were making the right move. I had no need for more bloodshed. I let out my frustration as a sigh and a roll of my eyes. “I know I have been busy and closed off, but that was just because so much happened.” I said aloud. “I just need something, anything to tell me we are doing what is right!” I yelled. Nothing happened. After all the times the goddess had spoke though me, my moments in other worlds with them, nothing. I felt a sense of desertion, like they had abandoned me. We were not turning out like they wished, they finally had enough. A knock on the door startled me.

The last week went by in the blink of an eye. The repairs were mostly completed around the packhouse We listed the farm for sale, the clearing team was almost finished. An offer came in 2 days after listing, we accepted glad to be rid of the horrific scene. I stood on the back porch with my coffee watching the teenagers training. There were 2 children, 11 and 10 years old, trying to mimic the advanced moves. I took a breath of fresh air, the breeze was cool but it was warmer than average. I heard footsteps approach and felt Sylvi’s presence before she spoke. “You seem to be in a good mood today.” She said holding her cup over the railing. “A week with no future attacks will do that.&rdquo
