Chapter 41

I opened my eyes and looked around my body. I was standing by a river; I had been here before but couldn’t place the memory. The trees were blowing in the angry winds.

Using my affinity with air, I opened myself to feel the energy that was whirling. I grabbed my stomach as pain and despair filled me. I could see uncertainty in the future, but the truth trying to show itself.

I relaxed my body and let the winds die down around me pushing their way back into the trees. I looked back towards the river to see Odin standing with his horn, waiting.

“You took your time arriving.” He said flatly.

“All-father, am I dreaming?” I responded slightly shocked.

Odin wasn’t known for appearing to anyone. He mostly guarded celebrated fighting and drinking with the fallen Vikings. Goddess Luna was the only one to have appeared to me.
