Chapter Five

Aiden's heart sank as he heard the news. He knew his father would be angry, but he didn't expect him to find out so soon. He tried to calm his nerves as he made his way to his father's study, but he couldn't help the feeling of dread that settled in his stomach.

As he walked into the room, he saw his father, Harlock, sitting behind his desk, his face twisted in anger. Aiden took a deep breath and prepared himself for what was to come.

Aiden's heart was pounding as he stood in front of his father, Harlock, who was clearly fuming. He knew that the news of his continued relationship with Freya would not go down well with his father, but he had hoped to buy more time before facing his anger.

"What is the meaning of this, Aiden?" Harlock bellowed, his voice echoing through the large room. "I hear that you have been seeing that girl from the other pack again. After everything we've talked about, after everything we've done to try and keep our bloodlines strong."

Aiden could feel his anger rising, but he tried to stay calm. "Father, I know that our traditions are important, but I love Freya. I can't just turn my back on her."

Harlock's face turned red with fury. "Love? What do you know about love, Aiden? You're still a pup, you don't understand the importance of our pack's survival. We mate within the pack, it's the way it's always been."

Aiden gritted his teeth, feeling a surge of frustration. "I understand the importance of our pack's survival, Father. But I also believe that love and family are just as important. Freya and I can find a way to make it work, we just need time."

Harlock snorted. "Time? You think time will change anything? You're just a foolish boy, Aiden. You don't understand the consequences of your actions. If you continue to see that girl, I will have no choice but to get her out of the picture. For the good of our pack."

Aiden felt a cold dread settle in his stomach. He knew what his father was capable of, and he knew that he couldn't risk losing Freya. "No, Father, please. You can't do that. She's carrying my child, we can't just get rid of her."

Harlock's expression softened for a moment, but it quickly hardened again. "I know that, Aiden. But you have to understand that the pack's survival comes first. If you won't comply with our traditions, then I'll have to take matters into my own hands."

Aiden stood there, feeling helpless and trapped. He knew that he couldn't give up on Freya and their child, but he also knew that his father was not someone to be taken lightly. He would have to find a way to make his father see reason, to make him understand that there was a way for them all to coexist.

The conversation ended with both of them agreeing to disagree on the matter, but Aiden knew that the tension between him and his father would only continue to grow. He was determined to find a way to make things work with Freya, but he knew that it wouldn't be easy. The battle between love and tradition was far from over, and Aiden had a feeling that it would only get harder from here on out.

Aiden knew that he needed to warn Freya about the potential danger that his father posed. He didn't want to scare her, but he also knew that he couldn't keep this from her any longer.

The next day, Aiden went to see Freya at her aunt's house. As he walked through the door, he could feel the tension in the air. Freya's aunt greeted him with a polite smile, but he could see the concern in her eyes.

"Is everything okay, Aiden?" she asked, leading him into the living room.

Aiden took a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves. "I need to talk to Freya, alone," he said, his eyes meeting Freya's.

Freya nodded, standing up from the couch. "What's going on, Aiden?" she asked, her voice soft.

Aiden took her hand, leading her into the kitchen. "We need to talk," he said, his tone serious.

Freya could feel her heart racing as she looked up at him. "What is it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"A few nights ago, I had a talk with my dad," Aiden began, his grip on her hand tightening. "He knows about us, Freya. And he's not happy about it."

Freya's eyes widened in shock. "What did he say?" she asked, her voice trembling.

"He threatened to get you out of the picture if I didn't comply with his instructions," Aiden said, his jaw clenched.

Freya's hand went to her stomach, her eyes filling with tears. "What are we going to do, Aiden?" she asked, her voice breaking.

Aiden took a step closer to her, wrapping his arms around her. "We'll figure it out, Freya. We'll find a way to make this work, no matter what."

Freya buried her head in his chest, taking comfort in his embrace. "I'm scared, Aiden," she whispered.

Aiden kissed the top of her head, holding her tightly. "I know, Freya. But I promise you, I won't let anything happen to you or our child. I love you, and I'll do whatever it takes to protect you both."

Freya looked up at him, her eyes shining with tears. "I love you too, Aiden. And I trust you."

Aiden wiped away her tears, kissing her softly. "We'll get through this together," he said, his voice filled with determination.

Freya nodded, feeling a sense of hope and love wash over her. She knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but with Aiden by her side, she felt like they could face anything.

As the due date drew closer, Freya and Aiden grew even closer, spending every possible moment together. They talked about the future and how they would raise their child. Freya shared her hopes and dreams, while Aiden listened attentively, his love for her growing stronger with each passing day.

Despite the challenges they faced, Freya remained optimistic, holding onto the belief that they could find a way to make it work. She trusted in Aiden's love and support, knowing that he would always be there for her.

One day, as they were sitting together in Freya's aunt's garden, watching the sun set over the trees, Aiden turned to her and took her hand in his. "Freya, I know things have been difficult between us, but I want you to know that I love you. I will always love you, no matter what."

Freya's heart swelled with emotion, and tears pricked at the corners of her eyes. "I love you too, Aiden. More than anything in this world."

Aiden leaned in and kissed her gently, his touch sending shivers down her spine. "I promise you, Freya. We will find a way to make this work. We will be a family, and we will raise our child with love and care."

Freya smiled through her tears, feeling a sense of hope and happiness wash over her. She knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but with Aiden by her side, she felt like they could face anything.

As the night grew darker and the stars twinkled above them, Freya and Aiden sat together in comfortable silence, their hands clasped together, their love shining bright like the moon in the sky.
