Chapter 50: Vanilla
I expected to find my kingdom's main square in a complete and utter kerfuffle. Yet it looks perfectly faultless. No fires, no dead bodies, nothing that could possibly cause an issue. That unsettles me, what could he be planning? Silence equals danger or at least some sort of horrible plan.
"Why were we in a rush again?" I hear behind me, it's Aphy's voice. "His brother escaped," Levin answers his query. "Is that a bad thing?" Aphy sounds almost surprised by his reply. "Yes, it is awful! He tried to murder me and my queen. He wished to take over the kingdom and the things his mind is filled with are terrifying." My tone is harsh.

Where there used to be fires as tall as houses and mothers running to protect their children there's now peace. The emanating fear of Alexander taking the kingdom over and the war running the castle flat there is now only calm. It seems to me that the mess has all been cleaned up and taken care of. We've been traveling for at least a couple of hours now, the castle getting bigger by the second. I can smell the royal air surrounding it and by that I mean you can't smell any animal defecation and everything smells much fresher.
