Aaron heard Nathan telling him he would tuck her in, just like Aaron did. It was right after the proposal and she was definitely drunk then. Did she spend that night with him too?

Aaron grabbed Emily and forced her down onto her back, took her hands in his, laying his hard body on top of hers. He found himself reliving all the times they'd done shady shit like this while she was drunk. Remembering the angry, jealous, passionate heat coming off of him as he kissed, took and touched what wasn't his to have. It was wrong to forgo the guilt about kissing and touching her while his brother fought for his life. That's what they did though. Just them. Just with him. It wasn't the same as her and Nathan. They were in love, even if she didn't know it yet. She wouldn't have let someone else touch her, not now, not when she finally had him.

"What happened after the shooting?"

She tried to let go, to reassert control, but he wouldn't budge.

(Caines, Terres Somnia)Sitting in a dingy, dark corner in some hole in the wall place mixing all sorts of liquor to try and reproduce the one time he remembered being drunk, was Prince Aaron Condor. How had he gotten here? It was her fault. He had a good thing going until she came and messed with his schedule. Aaron’s days had been so packed to the brim since he got home that he had next to no time to think. That was until Emily paid him a visit, stole all his shit and basically blew up his house of cards, like she had a tendency to do. “Who does she think she is anyway, telling me what I need?” he said to no one in particular. His cocktail of liquor got him buzzed, but not much else was happening. He couldn’t do to himself what Keira managed to do that night. Aaron had no idea what was in that glass, but her flirtatious, evil grin wouldn’t leave him be until he chugged it. With her, he never wanted to say no. His arrogance about her being as yet unable to get him drunk ended with

A year after James and Cassie fled Caines(Maine, Terres Somnia)Aaron breathed a sigh of relief when Emily finally smiled. It took a few bottles of wine, but he'd finally gotten her to calm down about Duke Maine's latest marriage prospect and her utter despair at it not somehow miraculously being James. "You're not going to remember any of this tomorrow, are you?" They were standing on the balcony of her bedroom, her in his arms while he pointed out constellations to her at her insistence. "I might," she giggled, kissing his cheek and wrapping her arms around his neck. "Educate me some more, Professor Aaron."He swallowed as her face neared his. Her sparkling, happy gray eyes looked too innocent, more so than he knew them to be. Their first kiss was a few nights ago and what a damn kiss it was. How he stopped himself from doing more with her he didn't know.To his surprise, she was still like she was now, in this inexplicably happy mood, when he got her home. And while she still c

2021, February 20th(Imperium — Warlanda) She knew why he had to leave, she just didn't really want him to, was used to making him stay anyway, even if it was only for a few hours. So when she slipped into his bed, two hours after he left her guarded room, in the tiniest PJs she owned (he knew, because somehow even sharing a house with her as friends still meant knowing) Aaron wasn't really all that surprised."I suppose I ought to congratulate you on your restraint. Took you a whole two hours to do what I told you not to." His voice was chiding, but his hands going around her to take her into his arms meant it was okay, even though it probably would be just like the old days, only a few hours before he had to sneak her out. "I couldn't sleep. Just last night, this very place was supposedly unsafe for me and now it's just okay?" Emily shuddered. She still didn't understand the politics of how her simply showing up in a city meant that she was staking claim to Keira's title as Quee

He was testing the waters, checking to see how drunk she was, how many liberties he could take. "Maybe I'll find you another Svetlana," she said with an edge to her voice that meant not even tipsy. He wanted her in his arms, right where she was, but that was the problem. There was nothing he could do but keep replacing the Svetlanas of the world night after night to dull the pain of not holding her. Giving her and James the go ahead was one thing. Making his heart give up on her was something else entirely. Hell he'd been trying for years. After their dance, they went through glasses of champagne faster than dance partners, which neither had any shortage of. They were hollow, empty, torturous exchanges. Just the thing in between getting back to each other. The most recent one had clung to him for two dances. Two dances were bad. Two dances meant he might take her home and by home she meant some hotel or other for the night. Two dances meant Emily might not get the last and that she

Aaron should have told him when he still could that he was okay with them, that he just wanted his brother back, but they never quite made it that far. Now all he could do was stay by her side, take care of his brother's girl and hope against hope that they weren't waiting for someone who wasn't coming. "We'd better go. King Henry doesn't like it when you're late to these things." Aaron rolled his eyes. "Henry doesn't like it when I breathe. Adding one more thing to what he doesn't like isn't going to break the bank."(Later that night) "Really Henry, you'd think you'd be more chill about this kind of thing by now. Front page huh? I'm really not that interesting, but it's flattering, I guess," said Aaron nonchalantly. He'd made it into another scandal with some or other model whose name he just couldn't quite remember, no matter how many times she told it to him the night before. Henry had been yelling about it for some time now and likely would have kept going if they weren't h
