MasukAYAH'S POV
"You paid the bills? You didn’t need to do that," I told Bryan. I had just found out that he was the one who saved me—and he even paid the hospital bills. Wait… how did he even know I was there? Just as I was about to ask him, a familiar figure caught my eye. It was Ethan and Mia. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to protect our baby from Ayah," Mia said as if she truly felt guilty. Protect the baby from me? I clearly remember how she deliberately acted like I pushed her when, in fact, she threw herself down the stairs. And what? Our baby? "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you and the baby from Ayah's immaturity," Ethan said. "I swear, I'll make her pay for this." He spoke as if I wasn't his wife. Now everything was clear. He didn’t love me anymore. The moment his first love returned, I became nothing more than a wife on paper. This time, I needed to step back. There wasn't even a competition between Mia and me. I already knew how it would end. Suddenly, a tall figure stepped in front of me, blocking my view of them. It was Bryan. "What are you doing?" I asked him, confused. "What? Is my handsome face not enough for you to stare at?" he said casually. "Why are you looking at garbage?" He really hadn't changed. I thought he would be different after all these years, but it seemed like he was still the same. I laughed. "What? Aren't you done showing off your face to everyone and saying it looks good?" I said sarcastically, making a face at him. "Thanks for the information. We definitely didn't know that." He clutched his chest dramatically as if my words had wounded him. Maybe he was trying to compete with Mia's acting skills. "You pretend not to know even though you can clearly see it? That's insane," he replied sarcastically. Then he casually placed his arm around my shoulders and offered to take me home. "This boastful b*stard," I muttered. "Am I blind? Because I really can't see what you're talking about." "That's because you have terrible taste. You prefer someone who looks basic," he shot back. We kept arguing like that all the way home. It was obviously a fake argument, but somehow it made me laugh. I didn't even realize Ethan had arrived before us and was already waiting outside the house until he suddenly spoke. "Is this what a married woman does?" His voice made me stop. "Oh, I didn't realize you were there," I said innocently, trying to suppress my sarcasm. "Thank you for bringing her home," Ethan said coldly to Bryan. "But you don't need to do that again. I don't want this happening in the future." Bryan didn't even bother responding. "I'm leaving. Take care of yourself," he told me before walking away. I watched as he got into his car and drove off. Once he was gone, I entered the house without saying a word. "Are you cheating on me with him?" Ethan asked as he followed me inside. "You know I hate that man, right?" I was too exhausted to deal with his nonsense, so I ignored him. My silence only irritated him more. "What? Why won't you answer me?" he demanded. "Did you two go on a date? Did you sleep with him to get back at me? For heaven's sake, Ayah, Mia and I are just friends." His voice alone was enough to make my head ache. Furious, I turned to face him. "Seriously? You're accusing me of cheating on you?" I snapped. "Have you forgotten what I witnessed?" "Ayah, I'm not accusing you," he replied. "What you saw at Mia's place isn't what you think. I was just letting my frustrations out because you've been so annoying these past few days. I'm sorry you had to see that, but let's just forget about it." Then he added coldly, "Actually, you're the one who did something wrong. Mia had a miscarriage because of your immaturity and unreasonable jealousy. You have no right to be angry at her." There he goes again. Ignoring the fact that they cheated and blaming everything on me. "I didn't push her down the stairs," I said firmly. "She did it herself to gain your sympathy. And look—she succeeded." Why was I even explaining myself? "You know what? This is pointless," I said before turning away. I went upstairs to my room—not our room. He kept calling my name and telling me to come back, but I ignored him. I was done listening to his nonsense. The moment I entered my room, I walked straight to the safe where I had hidden everything about my pregnancy. Then I suddenly remembered something. Bryan knew about it. No way. I quickly grabbed my phone and sent him a message. "Don't you dare tell anyone that I was pregnant and had a miscarriage!" Sent. A few seconds later, he replied. "You were? I don't remember." I smiled. That meant he would take that secret to his grave. After some time, I left my room and walked to Ethan's office. Everything was still neat—just the way I used to keep it. Then something on his desk caught my attention. A photo frame. Our wedding picture. I walked closer and picked it up. Back then… we were happy. As I was about to put it back, I noticed another photo hidden behind the frame. Curious, I pulled it out. The moment I saw it, my heart froze. It was a picture of Ethan and Mia when they were still together. Did he secretly love her all this time? I quietly placed the photo back where I found it. Then my eyes drifted to the papers lying on his desk. My heart dropped the moment I read them. Divorce papers. With my husband's signature.AYAH’S POV Since those confusing scenes started running through my head, I deliberately avoided Ethan. There’s something in me that feels angry at him. I don’t know why. I don’t know which part of me feels that way—but it’s there. “Hey… please talk to me?” We’re in my office—his company. He’s been like this for three days. Ever since that night, he’s been trying to get my attention. Not just at work. Even at home. “Please?” He placed the food he bought on my desk. I sighed when I saw it. Beef steak. I’m allergic to beef. “Isn’t this your favorite?” That made me look up. He smiled like he had finally done something right. “I’m allergic to beef.” Even Bryan—someone I clearly hurt before, without even remembering it—knows what I can and can’t eat. But my own husband doesn’t? I looked back down at the papers, trying to ignore him. My brows furrowed as something caught my attention. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know…” His voice faded into the background. There was a
AYAH’S POVThe moment the doorbell rang, everything inside me snapped back to reality. Bryan froze beneath me, his grip on my waist tightening for a second before he gently pushed me up. My heart was racing so fast it felt like it would burst out of my chest. “Stay here,” he said quickly, his voice low but firm. Before I could even ask why, he guided me toward a nearby bathroom. I didn’t argue. I don’t even know why—I just followed. Maybe it was instinct. Maybe it was fear. The moment I stepped inside, he closed the door softly behind me.I stood there, staring at my reflection. My lips were slightly swollen. My cheeks were flushed. My breathing uneven. What was I doing? I pressed my hand against my chest, trying to calm my heartbeat, but it didn’t work. If anything, it only made me more aware of everything that just happened. Then I heard the door open outside.“Bryan.”A woman’s voice.I froze.Something about it felt… familiar.I moved slowly, carefully, and leaned closer to the d
AYAH'S POVI looked at his eyes, his nose, and finally… his lips. They parted slightly as he stared at me, like he was memorizing every detail.“You look beautiful as always,” he said softly.I smiled without meaning to. For a second, it felt normal—like a wife being admired by her husband. Then reality hit me again.I’m married. But tonight… I only wanted Bryan.I only loved him—and no one else.“I love you so much, Ayah.”My breath hitched.“I love you to the point I can lose everything but you,” he continued, his voice quieter now. “I’m sorry I’m saying this now. I just… didn’t have the courage before.”My chest tightened.“If only we could be together.”I saw it then—the crack in his composure. The vulnerability he tried so hard to hide.“Shh…” I whispered, my voice trembling. “You’re making my heart ache.”Without thinking, I leaned closer. My lips brushed against his—He froze. Then gently, he pulled back.“Ayah…” His voice was low, strained. “Aren’t you afraid Ethan might find
AYAH’S POVEthan had no choice but to leave with Mia after I declined multiple times. I didn't argue with him, I just watched him go like a scene that didn't belong to me anymore. Zarry and Zach excused themselves as they have a meeting tomorrow. It's only me and Bryan. Bryan didn’t say much either, only stayed beside me as the noise of the restaurant bar slowly softened around us. For some reason, the night felt lighter after Ethan left, even if I couldn’t explain why.Bryan ordered drinks after that. I didn’t even notice how it started, only that my glass kept getting refilled and my thoughts started feeling… slower, softer, easier to ignore. I wasn’t used to alcohol, and it hit me faster than expected. The edges of everything blurred. His voice sounded closer than it should’ve been.“Slow down,” Bryan said quietly, watching me as I leaned slightly on the table. “You don’t drink much, do you?”I frowned at my glass like it betrayed me. “It’s just juice,” I muttered, then took anothe
AYAH'S POVNo one spoke after that. Even the people from nearby tables, who had been shamelessly listening, suddenly looked away like they wanted no part in what just happened. Ethan stared at me as if he no longer recognized the woman standing in front of him. Maybe he truly didn’t. The Ayah he knew probably would have followed him home, apologized first, and cried later. But I wouldn’t know that version of me. I don’t remember her at all. To me, she feels like a stranger wearing my face.“You’re serious,” he said at last. His voice was lower now, stripped of anger. I raised a brow. “Do I look like I’m joking?” His throat moved as he swallowed. For the first time since I woke up from that accident, Ethan looked cornered. Not furious. Not proud. Just cornered.Mia stepped closer to him. “Ethan, let’s go. She’s only doing this because she wants attention.” I laughed softly. “You really think too highly of yourself.” She stiffened. “Excuse me?” “If I wanted attention,” I said, meeting h
AYAH'S POVI laughed so loudly that I caught the attention of nearby tables. “I was just kidding! Look at your faces!” I almost wanted to hold my stomach from laughing too hard. Bryan chuckled softly beside me, clearly entertained. “Are you trying to torture me, Ayah?” Ethan asked through clenched teeth. “We’ve been together since you were eighteen. It’s impossible you were married before that.” I could hear the irritation in his voice. “Right?” I said sarcastically. “I thought you wouldn’t know that. Is there something you know about me?” His jaw tightened. “I don’t need to explain everything to you.” Then his eyes darkened. “You left me for her, right? Now just leave. Or I will.”“Ayah, don’t be ridiculous. Can you please stop embarrassing me? Let’s go home.” He reached for my wrist and tried to pull me away. I immediately removed his hand. “Don’t touch me.”The table went silent. Even Mia looked stunned. Ethan stared at me like I had just slapped him in public. “I’m your husband,”
