Chap-1*Hardly Fitting In*

The weather was pleasant that day. Every human was busy in their normal and boring lives. The same routine of waking up in the morning and then off to the very humanly life. But it wasn't the same for the Clynts.

"That girl was a human," Dallin, a tall handsome guy with blue eye color, stated as he placed his one leg on the other. The Villa was huge, all fancy furniture and servants ready to serve him.

"I'm glad you find it out before you planted a seed in her." Dallin's grandfather wasn't very fond of the idea of his bloodline stopping.

They were ancient vampires, and sadly, vampires can't breed and that was hard for Mr. Howard, the grandfather of Dallin to swallow.

But then how did his wife give birth to Dallin?

Howard's son, Garret, fell in a love with a hybrid without knowing her truth in 1750. His wife gave birth to a son, who gained his mother's genes and was a new but powerful hybrid.

Sadly, the mother died giving birth as a curse for getting impregnated by a human. Devastating at his wife's death, Garrot feared if he died too nobody will be there to look after his son.

The fear begun to grow on him, before he knew it, he had lost his sanity over the fear of how would he take care of a kid who is not human. When Dallin turned only 3, his father too perished away. Howard then took it upon himself to take care of this kid and make sure he stays alive by his side.

So he willingly turned himself into a vampire, but taking in a drop of his hybrid's son and while that hybrid blood was in his body, he ended his life, but only to wake up as a vampire. Since he wasn’t born with those genes, he only turned into a vampire. After hunting for witches, he was finally able to get a daylight ring, with the help of which he was freed from the fear of sunlight.

He was happy to have the power to be able to look after his grandson.

"I don't know what you want from me," Dallin, who has always had anything he wanted as being an only heir to the richest man, has also never learned manners. To him, he was everything and the world around him had no value in his eyes.

To him, everybody else was something that was just a waste of space.

"An heir! Our bloodline should carry on. And luckily for you, you are half-wolf, so you can get a she-wolf pregnant, together you guys will make a super-powerful baby." Howard yelled as he moved his hands and watched his grandson’s face who was sitting on the couch in his gray suit and watching his grandfather's face in utter silence.

"Actually, I do like the idea of making a powerful baby. Someone who would make the fortune double and even be able to rule the entire world." Dallin mumbled in his mouth, shocking his grandpa at his way of thinking.

"No, powerful enough to not get killed." Howard recorrected him, but Dallin only scoffed at how easy his grandpa would take things like these.

"Dallin, I want you to be focused on this matter." Howard finally asked for the attention, "I have found you a she-wolf," as soon as the words escaped his grandpa’s lips, Dallin, who till now was busy in his phone, put his phone down in interest.

"When, where, and for what?" Dallin hated the idea of being forced to mate just for the purpose of mating. He wanted to meet someone, know them and then fall in love with them. Love at first sight or one-night stand was not a very interesting topic to him.

"I don't know much about her, all I know is I ---" Howard had only begun to explain when Dallin's scoff shut him up.

"If you don't know anything about her, then how can you be so sure she is my mate?" Dallin had a point, they both were sitting peacefully on the couches, opposite to each other, "I wanna mate with someone who I can feel a connection with," Dallin mumbled in his mouth, picking up his phone again. He gave his grandpa a chance and didn’t get any good info out of him so he was back at doing his own stuff now.

"If she is your mate, you will automatically feel a connection," Howard was tired of going back and forth with Dallin over literally everything, "and I don't wanna hear one more thing. She will be here in tomorrow's ball, make sure you have prepared your mind for her." being a grandpa to such a brat was hard, Howard got up from his spot and walked away without mumbling one more thing to Dallin.

"We will see grumpy grandpa," Dallin muttered under his breath and indulged back in his phone.

Sun was at its rise, the cars on the roads keep honking to make it to their destination in time. Some noises could be heard in a hostel, coming from one particular room.

"I cannot fit in these jeans as well," A chubby girl walked out of the bathroom and sadly pouted at her friend, who was comfortably lying in the bed, all set for the college.

"Well, then stop eating." she roughly broke her attention from the game she was playing on her phone and commented very calmly.

"Don't be so rude, and tell me what should I do?" Delilah, who couldn't stop binge eating, asked her friend Monica Lee very sadly.

Over the past few years, she had gained a lot of weight and dieting seemed like not a very good option to her.

"If you didn't stop your hand from food, trust me, you'll have many health issues in the future, and not to mention, you have to love yourself too, and I see you are not happy with yourself." Monica was a total savage but a good friend at the same time. She was worried for Delilah, who every time eating something unhealthy would cry for hours, complaining why Monica didn’t stop her from eating.

Every night, Delilah would cry a river, wishing to lose some weight as the extra pounds had begun to affect her daily activities now.

"Because I can't even walk stairs now," a young girl with so much hate for herself wasn't a good mental state to be in. Delilah, who wanted to lose weight, also couldn't stop eating.

"Then at least workout. The shortening of breath is gonna get worse from here." Monica put aside her phone and shook her head. She jumped off the bed, hunting for loose pants in Delilah's closet as Delilah stared at her sad image in the mirror.

"Try this on, I'll be waiting outside for you. Make sure you are not late for college." Monica picked up her phone to depart to the outside while Delilah stayed behind with a khaki pant in her hands.

"I wish these fit me," Delilah uttered in her mouth very disappointed with where her life was headed in the direction to.

After struggling for another few minutes, Delilah was able to put the pants on, not so comfortable but at least they fit.

She suspired wistfully, flopping down on the bed with her cell phone in her hands.

"Nobody swiped me right!" a sigh heaved through her lips while watching her dating profile. She had joined these apps two months ago and had been actively posting about her daily routine, but nobody has been matched with her so far.

"Lemme take a picture, hmm, let's not include that chin." she tilted her phone to the angle from where her insecurities couldn't be captured and smiled for the camera.

What she didn't know was that her beautiful heart should have been enough, but sadly, the world doesn't think like that.

She changed her picture on the app and parted her lips to let go of a deep breath.

Now was not the time to sit and cry over something that she couldn't control, she can't force anyone to swipe her right. She got her mind ready to leave as Monica would be waiting for her.

She met up with Monica and together they set off to the college in Monica's black G Wagon.

Once the car was parked in the college's parking, Monica and Delilah walked towards the building together.

"Wait a minute," Monica excused to pick up the call she was receiving from her mother.

As Monica distanced herself to have a talk with her mom, a mean girl; Stacy, made her way towards Delilah.

The instant Delilah spotted her, she knew she was going to be sneered at.

"Hey, Delilah!" Stacy, a beautiful, tall blond girl in a white blouse and pink skirt, said in her raspy voice.

"Hey, Stacy!" Delilah replied very hesitantly. Standing alongside Stacy had always been stressful as she knew eyes were going to catch her presence since Stacy was a very popular and hot girl of the college.

Some of Stacy's friends followed Stacy like leeches and Delilah knew she was going to deal with her mess.

"Are you dieting?" Stacy batted her eyelashes and scanned Delilah from head to toe.

Delilah gulped, looking down at her body and then watching the girls' faces to understand what Stacy meant by that.

"Umm, I--" Delilah stammered, watching their faces one by one.

"No! I mean look at her," Stacy continued, talking to her friends about Delilah, "Do you agree right?" she added very impressively.

Delilah had no idea if she was complimenting her or poking fun of her because the interactions they had in past weren't very pleasant.
