After Delilah came back from the office, Mrs. Tim told her about her daughter's mischievous act.
Mrs. Tim had a Band-Aid on the tip of her nose after the door slammed shut on her face.
"I'm so sorry, I'll speak to her." Delilah apologized and rushed upstairs to talk to Hope, who was lying under her bed ever since that incident happened.
"Come out from under the bed, we need to talk." Delilah patted her foot on the floor while standing by the bed and waiting for Hope to come out.
"No! I don't wanna talk to anyone." She resisted heavily, a 5-year-old was traumatized at what happened downstairs. She could have sworn that she didn't even touch that door, but what scared her the most was that in her head, she did want to slam the door on her.
"Hope, you don't want me to repeat myself." Delilah had enough of Hope's attitude. Lately, she has been falling in trouble with a lot of people. This wasn't how Delilah wanted to raise her. A little b
“But why can’t I spend time with her? She is my granddaughter and we both love each other.” Howard had been kept away from Faith ever since that incident happened at the dinner. After Mallory’s accusations, Dallin didn’t want to risk anything. To ensure Dallin that she wasn’t lying, she even made Dallin investigate his grandpa’s room and he did find many weird herbs and bottles of a mixture of vervain and wolfbane.“It’s for the best.” Dallin hadn’t been able to look in his grandpa’s eyes ever since then. It was such a heartbreaking thing for Dallin that the person he was hoping to take care of Faith after he leaves, was actually slow poisoning her.“You don’t believe her, do you?” Howard rushed to block Dallin’s way out of his room to demand some answers from him.“Why were those things in your room grandpa? Why have all those things in your possession w
After that night, Delilah had been trying to cheer up Hope and in the meanwhile, waiting for the test results from the lab to understand what was wrong with Hope. She had picked up Hope from school to take her to the hospital and talk to the doctor. When she learned that all the test results came clear and the doctor told her that there was nothing wrong with her daughter, Delilah didn’t know if to be relieved or worry even more for not knowing what was happening. To spend some quality time with Hope and introduce her to Rod, Delilah thought it was the perfect time to introduce them to each other. They were waiting in the park, where Hope was eating ice cream with no idea why her mother had insisted she stay in the park.“Baby, wait here okay?” Delilah excused Hope to walk a bit away in order to attend Rod’s call. Who was probably calling her to let her know why he was late. Hope stayed behind with her ice cream cone when all of a sudden her att
After the whole incident happened with Dallin not being able to recall her mother, Faith took it upon herself to go ask her grandpa, who she had not seen in days. He was mostly assigned to be on the top floor of the house and avoiding Faith at any cost in order to not raise more suspicions on his intentions. Although Dallin didn’t ask him to restrict himself to the room, Howard didn’t feel like going out anymore. He had yet to come out of the trauma Mallory’s betrayal had caused him. She looked so perfect for their family, he wondered what happened. Were those her motives since the beginning? If so, then how come he didn’t notice that before? Was he that bad of a judge of anyone’s character?A knock on the door reminded Howard that he was not alone. Before he could move to open the door, a gentle whisper grabbed his attention.“Grandpa?” Faith had her ear plastered against the door, trying to hear her grandpa’s voice.
“Then don’t watch the TV,” Mrs. Tim hated the sight of Hope. She thought of her as a burden, just like Delilah.“My mother pays the bills so,” Hope uttered her breath, but successfully catching Mrs. Tim’s attention. “What the hell did you say?” Mrs. Tim bent down in a threatening manner, expecting Hope to take her words back and apologize. “I said what I said,” Hope replied calmly, leaning back on the couch and keeping her eyes on the TV screen. Mrs. Tim straightened her back in annoyance, deciding what to do with this spoilt brat. That’s when her petty mind decided to wash off this kid’s entire happiness from her heart if there exists any. “That’s why your father left you and your mother.” Mrs. Tim was proud of herself when Hope turned the TV off and swirled her neck to her.“You know my father?” poor Hope didn’t know the intentions behind Mrs. Tim
Hope was finally able to leave the bed and walk on her feet once she had reclaimed enough energy. But things hadn't resolved between her and her mother. Hope did not mention anything again but in her heart, she was this unwanted child nobody cared of.She was doing the slides in her garden when she noticed someone watching her from the small fence that parted the road from her front yard.Hope didn't think much of it and began to play again when the curiosity began to hit her. She climbed off the slide and marched towards the lady in black."Who are you?" Hope placed her hands on her hips and stared at Monica, who had a huge smile plastered across her lips after seeing her friend's beautiful daughter."I'm Monica Lee," she mumbled playfully, her hair was burgundy now, the thick eyeliner and red lips made her stand out even more."I'm your mother's friend," The moment Monica announced that part, Hope's eyes widened. All her life, she thought her mot
“I feel like I am taking advantage of you.” Delilah was on the call with Rod while Hope had fallen asleep in the backseat of Monica’s car. Monica had only known a few things about Delilah and what happened with her Uncle and Aunt, she had yet to discover about Delilah’s stolen memories, but since Delilah was compelled to ignore that subject, every time Monica would bring up her past, Delilah will shut her down the very next moment.“It’s fine, I am just playing my part of a good boyfriend.” Rod laughed from the other side of the call. He had accepted her leave and even promised her the salary every month.“But I feel so useless.” Delilah was looking out of the window whilst Monica was in the driver's seat. They hadn't wasted a single minute and after two days of heavy discussion, they started their journey back to the town. “Hey, how about you work on the deal we were supposed to do with an anti-aging compan
"Now go with your teacher and be nice okay?" Delilah bent over Hope to whisper in her ear when her teacher wasn't looking to kindly warn her daughter to forget her ways from back in her previous school."Don't you worry, Mommy!" Hope gave her a full teeth smile and walked away with Mrs. Olive, making Delilah to question her daughter's motives."Okay class, you'll be nice to her." After the introduction, Hope was settled into the class and from what it looked like, things were going pretty smooth until a small incident happened."Faith!" As the play teacher came, she saw Hope and rolled her eyes, "Don't tell me you are again here because you are too afraid to be in your classroom?" Mrs. Valerie knew Faith would always get bullied, so she expected her to hide in her classroom again."I'm Hope!" hearing such a weird remark made Hope get up and introduce herself. It took Mrs. Valerie a little bit of time and checking her name in the register to believe Hope.
The next day, both the sections were supposed to do homework and write an essay about a topic called *My mother*.Where Hope aced the topic, Faith was miserable in front of the whole class."Faith, read your homework loud before the class." the teacher looked at Faith, who was holding her homework close to her chest with her face bowed down to hide her tears."Topic: My mother!" Faith gained strength to mumble in a broken voice, after a few seconds of going back to being silent, she continued, "My mother is dead." She added and lowered her homework to announce that was it.The entire class burst out laughing while Faith was reduced to tears. The teacher saw poor Faith sobbing and her heart melted at the sight."Silence!" The loud shout of their teacher made them zip their lips in seconds, "Faith! Sweetie you can write anything about your mother, anything you remember." the teacher pulled Faith closer to her and gently cleaned her tears.
