Chapter Seven

Castle Soniva, Summer Court Capital, Faerie

Fallon

I had left Fawn with the pixies and had a meeting with my most trusted knights about the strange events surrounding Fawn, including the Shade activity in the mortal realm. Now, I had an investigation about that in place. I trusted Jude to get to the bottom of it. He was in his element and at his best when off on a mission.

The council hasn’t found out what I’ve done yet, or I’d be in council meetings, but it’s coming. They’re just going to have to deal with it. It’s done, and I’ll not be apologizing for it.

I have a feeling Cassia is going to be a problem. I should have ended that a long time ago when she started getting possessive instead; I tried to shut it down nicely just recently, but she wouldn’t listen. She’s a catty fae, and I see bad things if I can’t get her to leave the court willingly, especially with her father being on the council. So throwing her out will not go over well, especially since I just broke my own damn laws.

I have my fated mate now, though. I finally have her and she's going to survive.  I think I’ll check on her and make sure she’s feeling well. I know she would have died had I not started the bonding. So I will do the rest of this right and court her before I complete the bond.

Fawn

I don’t know exactly how it happened, but Tilly and Poppy introduced me to Candy, Mandy, and Tandy, the Nymph triplets hanging out in the media room with us. They each had on hilarious shirts. Candy’s t-shirt read, “It was the Klondike Bar,” and Mandy’s read “Summer floozy,” and Tandy’s read “That’s what she said.” So one minute, I was taking it easy and munching on a delicious breakfast and fruits, pondering my new reality and wondering where my aunties were while all of this is going on, and in the next minute, we were all dancing and singing with a music video.

So, that’s how I happen to be shaking my booty around and singing, “My Anaconda don’t! My Anaconda don’t! My Anaconda don’t want none unless you’ve got buns hun!”, when I turned and gave a sharp, high pitch scream of fright, being startled, when I saw Fallon and another attractive man standing inside the door.

The gorgeous man was laughing his ass off, but Fallon looked very unhappy. I was mortified at being caught acting ridiculous by the sexy fae males, but that took a backseat to the thundercloud that was Fallon.

Fallon’s eyes had that silver swirl thing going on in them that I hadn’t seen since I was first awakened in Faerie. Then, finally, he asked with a lethally soft voice that would cut worse than any shout, “Fawn, do you remember this morning when I kindly requested that you take it easy for a few days?”

“I seem to remember that yes,” I replied haltingly. “I was doing that; that was the plan. It totally was, but..... it’s their fault.” I pointed at the pixies and felt two grapes hit me in the side of the face; Tilly said, “snitches get stitches," and Poppy said, “Threw us right under the bus.”

Fallon’s face turned darker, and I realized he was really pissed off, and I wasn’t going to be able to cute myself out of this. Uh oh. I didn’t understand why. It was just a little fun.

“You think this is funny? Do you have any idea what I have gone through?” he started raising his voice.

“You were dying, Fawn!” he yelled.

“Fallon... I started to apologize, but he rushed at me, and my fighting instincts kicked in; I fought him for a good two minutes until he slapped my ass real hard, shocking me still. Then he threw me over his shoulder and walked out of the room, calling to the other fae male over his shoulder, “Bring me some cuffs. Not the iron ones.”

“Oh no, no, no!... Fallon, you wouldn’t!” I yelled.

“Watch and see little Faeling." He replied calmly.

I looked up to see the girls all smiling and waving bye, well, except for Tilly, who ran a finger over her neck in a cutting motion and pointed at me.

I gave her the bird.

Fawn

Ten minutes later

I could not believe he actually did it! The other gorgeous fae who Fallon had called Cian came back with cuffs and a wicked grin on his face. He kept snickering low every time he glanced at me.

Fallon cuffed me to his bed, looked at me, and said, take a nap. Then he walked out, slamming the door behind him. I'm surprised his pretty backside didn't have nails stuck in it. My eyes were certainly trying to shoot them. It looks like I was right, once again. This fated mate thing IS biting neck and alpha bossiness stuff. My ass smarted where he slapped it, and I was thankful the Aunties had never spanked me. It burns like a mutha!

How can I take a nap with all this anger in me? GAHHH! I want to spank HIS ass and cuff HIM to a bed. Then dance around the room singing, "Smack That" The little daydream gave me a grin, and I must actually have been a little tired because I fell asleep.
