Kneeling Down

last update Last Updated: 2024-06-11 17:30:31

Natalie can't believe Norwan is willing to terminate their mateship for Cora. Is that how she is really important? He's willing to do anything just for her.

This is unbelievable, Natalie can't believe this is happening now. She didn't answer Norwan, she was just looking at him with questioning eyes.

"Guards," Norwan called the imperial bodyguard, and the two walked closely to Natalie to take her away from them. They forced Natalie outside the mansion's door and forced her to kneel down. Natalie can't do anything except for crying. Until now, she couldn't believe Norwan would terminate their mateship for Cora.

She feels sadness at the same time and anger for Norwan. She's the Luna of the pack, Norwan made a rule that the Luna of the pack can't be forced to kneel down, yet Norwan disregards the rule for Cora, and in addition to that, he is also willing to terminate their mateship for Cora. This is unacceptable!

After the imperial guard did their thing, they left Natalie outside while kneeling in front of the mansion's door.

She knelt all night with anger and pain. And a tiny part of her hopes that Norwan will come to her and take back what he says. A small number of her hopes to fully explain her side to Norwan, but the sun has already risen, her body is aching, and she is also sleepy. Her eyes are swollen because she cried all night, hoping and waiting for Norwan, but her hopes don't happen. As the sun rises, Norwan stands in front of her.

"Norwan..." She called him, waiting for him to take back what she said and apologize for forcing her to kneel down.

"Are you going to admit your mistakes?" Norwan asked her. Natalie suddenly stopped and looked at him hopelessly. Is this really happening to her? After all, Norwan wanted her to admit the mistake she didn't make? Norwan really thinks that she really pushed Cora off the cliff? This is pathetic!

"I... I didn't do anything." Natalie said she was utterly disappointed with Norwan. How come she fell in love with him? He can't even believe her. He can't even stand for her.

"You really pointed out your pride first. Just admit it, and I will take back my order." Norwan said Natalie was still looking at him. Even though her eyes were already swollen and drained, tears fell from her eyes again.

"Why can't you believe in me?" She asked, not cutting off her gaze on him. "I am your wife, Norwan. You should believe more in me than anyone else." She said. Norwan looked in the other direction.

"You make me feel that Cora is more important than me." She said while crying. "I am so disappointed, the fact that you forced me to kneel down and give me the option whether to kneel down on Cora or terminate our mateship gives me the idea that Cora is more important to you."

"I'm doing this because you made a mistake; you must learn your lesson."

"Lesson? You don't even give me a chance to explain my side. What you did was listen to your sister and Cora. Norwan, how about me?" She asked. Norwan still didn't answer her. "I already told so many times that all I did was to save Cora. I didn't push her."

"Stop telling your nonsense alibi, Natalie. Can't you see the results of what you did?" Norwan asked her. "She lost her baby, she miscarried my nephew." He added. "And now you're telling us you saved her because she was about to jump off the cliff? That's bullshit, Natalie. Why would Cora do such a thing? She's in her right mind."

"So you're probably telling me that I'm out of my mind and pushed her off the cliff because she doesn't like me, and I feel jealous of her whenever she's around you?"

"Yes!" Norwan shouted. Natalie couldn't believe this was what she looked like for Norwan. She can't believe that this is how Norwan thinks of her.

"I...I want to terminate our mateship." She said Norwan was shocked because of what she said. "If that's what you think of me, then I would like to terminate our mateship." She added. Norwan froze in the meantime, processing all that Natalie said.

"Fine." He was about to speak again when Matteo, his Beta, came.

"Mr. Tobias, Ms. Cora is already awake and looking for you, she is crying and wants to see you," Matteo said as he arrived.

Norwan suddenly worries for Cora, he looks at Natalie. And take a deep breath. "Don't make any trouble again." He said coldly and left in front of Natalie.

Natalie was left alone; she noticed Norwan immediately went to Cora's room. She saw how concerned Norwan was for Cora. She hopes Norwan will do the same thing to her, but no. At this time, she knows the fact that Cora is not only remarkable for Norwan, but Cora is also her rival when it comes to Norwan's heart.

She slowly stands as if she doesn't remove her gaze from the way where Norwan goes. After Norwan left her, she went to her room and packed her luggage. She can't stand this anymore, she will leave the house with or without Norwan's permission. After what she experienced last night after all the people here in the mansion blame her for what happened to Cora, she cannot stand it anymore.

On the other hand, Norwan goes to Cora's room; he immediately goes to her side, and Cora Immediately hugs him crying.

"Shh, stop crying. Calm down, Cora."

"My... My baby is gone," Cora said, crying while hugging Norwan.

"I. I didn't save my baby, I didn't have the chance to see my baby."

"I'm also sad about what happened to my nephew. I promise you that Natalie has already learned her lesson." Norwan is giving Cora assurance that Natalie learned her lesson and she will never do anything wrong to her.

"Norwan, because of Natalie, my baby died. I... I don't know what's wrong with her; I was just standing near the cliff trying to relax when she suddenly pushed me and..." Cora didn't continue what she said as Norwan hugged her again. A smirk on Cora's lips showed up as he grabbed her to embrace.

"Stop crying, don't stress yourself out. Okay? She will not hurt you anymore. I will protect you." Norwan said.

On the other hand, after Natalie packed all her things, she immediately left the room with her suitcase. As she went down to the door, she once looked at the people inside the mansion before she left the house. No one noticed her leaving, even the servants, because they were all busy caring for Cora. No one saw her arms bleeding; all their attention was focused on Cora.

As she left the mansion, she didn't know where to go, she just kept walking, and it was up to where her feet took her. Her tears didn't stop flowing. She feels weak and sick at this time because of what she experienced last night, she felt like she would collapse any minute, so she paused walking and struggled to open her mind, link, and connect with her beta, Chad. Her eyes became blurry, and her legs became weak.

"Chad... Chad, please pick me up here at Norwan's village. "She said before she fainted on the ground.

  • The Luna's Revenge   FINALE

The fire had nearly gone out. Just embers now, glowing faintly in the hearth like distant stars. Natalie stirred, curling closer to Norwan’s chest, her breath warm against his collarbone. Outside, the wind had quieted. The whole estate, the world even, seemed to be holding its breath.Norwan looked down at her, heart full.He thought about everything—the pain they’d walked through, the sharp words, the silences, the impossible distance that had once stretched between them. And he thought about how they had come back. Not the same, but stronger. Truer. Real. His fingers gently brushed a curl away from her cheek. She sighed in her sleep, and something in him stirred with a quiet, steady certainty.Now.He reached into his coat pocket—he’d been carrying it for weeks. Waiting. Wondering. But tonight… there was no wondering. Only clarity. He shifted carefully, reaching for the small velvet pouch. Natalie stirred as he moved, blinking herself awake with a sleepy murmur. “What time is it?”“

  • The Luna's Revenge   Family

The old vineyard estate looked different in the spring. The ivy on the walls had crept higher, full and green, curling over the window frames like nature had decided to reclaim the stone in the softest of ways. Blossoms bloomed along the edges of the courtyard, painting the corners with blush pink and cream. Lanterns swung gently from the carved wooden posts near the entrance, catching the warm afternoon light.Norwan held Natalie’s hand as they approached the heavy oak doors. She squeezed his fingers once—not nervous, but… aware. Of what this meant. Of how far they'd come. They were here together. As one.And that wasn’t just a step forward—it was a declaration. The door swung open before they could knock.Don Grego stood there in his crisp tunic, white hair swept back, and a look in his eyes that turned immediately to warmth the second he saw them.“Natalie,” he greeted first, voice rich with pride. “You came.”“And I brought this one with me,” she said, nudging Norwan’s shoulder pl

  • The Luna's Revenge   Forgiveness and Love

AFTER Five months. That’s how long it had been since Norwan first stood beneath the garden’s twisted archway again, with Natalie only a few paces away but heartbreaks apart. He hadn’t expected her to forgive him right away—hadn’t even dared hope. But he came back every week, sometimes with tea, sometimes with silence, sometimes with stories from the outpost or awkward attempts at old jokes she used to laugh at. Sometimes she walked away. Sometimes she listened. But slowly, something had changed. She stopped flinching when he touched her hand. She started asking him questions again—nothing deep at first, just idle curiosities. But over time, her words sharpened. So did her gaze. She stopped waiting to see if he’d break her again, and started watching to see if he’d stay. And he had. He stayed through her guarded silences, through her sharp comments and long absences. He stayed when she didn’t answer his letters. When she didn’t come to the solstice feast. When she didn’t say his name f

  • The Luna's Revenge   Comfort and explanation

The cliffs were quieter now. The wind had lost its bite, and the sky hung in a heavy kind of hush, thick with the weight of words unspoken.Norwan walked beside Drixie, his shoulders hunched, hands shoved into his coat pockets. They hadn’t spoken since leaving the garden—just the crunch of gravel underfoot and the low murmur of distant waves. He didn’t know what to say.Or maybe, he was just afraid of what would come out if he tried.Drixie glanced at him sideways, her steps slowing to match his. “So… we just gonna keep walking until the sun explodes or do you want to talk about it?”Norwan exhaled through his nose. “I don’t know what to say.”“That’s funny. You used to have so much to say when you were telling me I was overreacting about Natalie.”He winced. “Drix…”“I’m not trying to rub salt,” she said, holding up a hand. “I’m trying to remind you that you weren’t exactly a saint either.”His mouth opened, then closed.Drixie stopped walking and leaned against a lichen-covered boul

  • The Luna's Revenge   Bothered

The morning breeze was cool, laced with the scent of sea salt and honeyed flowers. Natalie sat on the stone ledge just outside the estate garden, barefoot, her wrap slipping from one shoulder. The sky was still pale with morning light, the world slow to wake—except for Norwan. He stood behind her, arms loose around her waist, chin resting lightly on her shoulder. They weren’t speaking, not really. Just… being. There was something sacred in that quiet. A peace she hadn’t expected to find so soon.“I forgot what this felt like,” he murmured, breath warm against her skin. “Just… existing with you.”“You never really existed with me,” she said, not cruelly—just honest. “You stood beside me. But you were always somewhere else.”Norwan tensed slightly, then nodded. “You’re right.”She reached up, her fingers brushing the side of his hand. “You’re here now.”“I am.”He pressed a kiss to the curve of her neck. It was soft. Unhurried. She didn’t move away.Natalie leaned back against him, and

  • The Luna's Revenge   Challenge

The wind had quieted by the time they walked back toward the estate. The path curved gently through wild grass and dune flowers, and though they walked close, their hands didn’t touch. Not yet.Natalie had always been the one who forgave too easily. Who filled the silence between heartbreak and healing with hope. But this time, she needed more than words. More than promises spoken through the haze of guilt and longing. This time, she would test him. They reached the guest suite just as the sun began casting golden light across the windows. Natalie stopped at the threshold and turned to face Norwan, studying the lines of his face.“I’m not inviting you in,” she said evenly. “Not yet.”“I wasn’t expecting you to,” Norwan replied, voice calm but rough. She nodded, her gaze searching. “I want to believe you. But belief isn’t trust. And trust…” She exhaled. “Trust is earned.”“I understand,” he said. Her eyes narrowed slightly. “Then prove it.”Norwan lifted his chin. “How?”She considered
