CHAPTER 8

Carina's POV

The moon above seemed to mock me, a silent witness to the turmoil within. My wolf, Ava, remained a steady presence, her instincts merging with mine.

“Why didn't you come out, Ava? You were supposed to charge up. You are a powerful breed! Why did you fucking fail me and let me get embarrassed?” I asked her over and over again, but she remained silent.

Revenge had brought me here, but the unforeseen twist in my fate demanded a delicate balance.

I just finished having a warm shower. Selene had left me to die in the field. She really was a heartless bitch and was now officially part of my to-eliminate list. She would get a piece of me when the time was right. For now, I wouldn't mind getting trained by her. I needed it if I really wanted to get my revenge.

I looked in the mirror as I patted my body dry with a towel. Besides the annoyed look I had on my face and a slight pain from Selene's punches, I noticed something different in my body.

My hips were a bit more wid
