Emily’s POV

A crescent-shaped mark that hadn’t been there before glowed faintly on my skin, looking like a birthmark.

“What in the Goddess’ name is this?” I whispered, unable to touch it.

Then Adrian’s voice boomed from outside the door. “Emily! Come out here, now!”

Panic shot through me. I quickly put on my clothes and wiped my face. When I opened the door, he stood there, sniffing the air. His eyes met mine, then widened in horror as if someone had hit him with a sledgehammer.

“What?” he barked, stepping back. “You're my mate?!...No! That’s not fucking happening.”

I stood there, numb, my brain slow to catch up. “Not happening? Are you saying the goddess made a mistake by binding us together?”

“She made a terrible mistake,” a sharp voice snapped behind him. Ruth. Adrian’s mother. “My son can never be mated to you!”

She marched forward, grabbed me by my clothes and dragged me toward the main building where the party was still going on. Before I could process anything, she shoved me to my knees in front of the guests.

Turning to the crowd with a dramatic breath, she announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, Adrian—my son, the future Alpha of this great pack—has found his mate.”

Cheers erupted, but they died instantly when she began to cry fake tears.

“But… unfortunately, she cannot be my son’s mate. She's a thief.”

She pointed at a screen where footage began playing. “This is how this ingrate kneeling here has been stealing from us. My son cannot be mated to a thief. Or, do you want the future Luna of this pack to be a thief who ruins our legacy?”

“No!” murmurs spread through the crowd. Insults began flying.

I lowered my head as shame and pain crawled up my spine. I couldn’t defend myself. Adrian’s parents’ words carried more weight than mine. No one would believe me, even if I told my side of the story.

Then Adrian’s voice cut through the noise. “Hey, Emily.” His tone was filled with pure disdain. The crowd quieted. “Aren’t you supposed to shift today? Go on, show us your wolf.”

The crowd roared their agreement.

My stomach sank.

What do I say? I hadn’t been able to shift earlier… could I really have no wolf? What did the mark on my back mean?

“Are you deaf?” Adrian snapped. “Show us your wolf.”

My hands trembled as I lifted my head.

“I… I couldn’t shift.”

Murmurs rippled through the hall, rising into a chant. “She’s cursed! She’s cursed!”

In the werewolf world, not being able to shift meant being cursed by the Moon Goddess. Such a person was not guaranteed safety, protection, or rights in the pack.

Next thing, bottles, leftovers began to hit me from different directions.

I kept my face down. I couldn’t protest. Maybe I deserved the pain. Maybe this was punishment for not taking the money in time to save my mother.

“Please have mercy! Her mother just died!” Sophie cried from somewhere in the crowd.

Everything went still for a moment.

“Is that true?” someone asked.

I couldn’t answer.

“She’s lying,” Ruth said quickly. “A thief will always lie.”

Another leftover hit my shoulder. “Liar!”

“She’s not lying!” Sophie sobbed. “Her mother died this evening.”

Ruth faltered for a second before recovering. “Regardless, Emily is not worthy to be my son’s mate!”

I lifted my head toward Adrian. His expression softened for a flicker, then he looked away.

For the first time since I’d been dragged here, Adrian’s father spoke. The man who would become Alpha tomorrow.

“Sorry for your loss, Emily. The pack sympathizes with you,” he said. A small relief washed over me, at least he showed some concern.

He continued, “In honor of your mother, who served as my head chef for years, we will not give you severe punishment for your theft. But you will be auctioned at my coronation tomorrow. We believe in second chances. Under new ownership, you may finally be useful.”

Auctioned? My throat tightened. That's a fate worse than death.

Auctioning of she-wolves was considered legal in werewolf kingdoms. They called it a ‘second chance’ for useless she-wolves. But it was a lie. I would be used as a breeder by any Alpha who bid the highest.

“Please… I will face any punishment you give me. Don’t auction me off,” I pleaded.

“See this ingrate!” Ruth snapped. “Adrian, reject her now!”

“No. No, Adrian, please. You can't reject me, I'm your mate. We're bound by the red thread of the moongoddess.” My plea fell on deaf ears.

“Shut up! I don't care what the moongoddess thinks!” Adrian snapped, stepping in front of me, eyes cold. “I, Adrian Ravenwood, Alpha heir of the Moonfang Pack, reject you, Emily Harpar, as my mate.”

A sharp pain slammed into me like my already broken soul had been crushed to powder. I let out a loud cry, louder than any I’d cried that day.

Sophie sobbed quietly at the back. She couldn’t help, she was just an omega. And Omegas have no say in the pack. But I still felt her fate was better than mine. At least she had a wolf, even if it was weak.

I had nothing. No wolf. No mate now. No place. I fit nowhere.

“Guards! Lock her in the dungeon until the auction tomorrow,” Adrian’s father ordered.

“Please… let me bury my mother first,” I begged as they dragged me away.

“The pack will do that for you.” The father's voice trailed behind me.

They hauled me into a dark, foul-smelling basement. My stomach sank. My fate was sealed. Tomorrow, I would be used as a breeder—a body for some shameless Alpha to own.

I couldn’t hold back anymore. I cried until my nose was blocked. My head throbbed, and my body burned with fever. Still, I didn’t stop. Didn’t care.

Memories of my mother flooded in. I wouldn’t even get to send her off properly.

I clenched my fists. If I had power—true power—I would make Adrian and his parents pay.

But I knew it would never happen. I was going to be sold off.

I cried more.

And when the first rays of light seeped into the dungeon, the clang of keys echoed in the hall. Two guards appeared at the bars.

“Stand up,” one said coldly. “It’s time.”

My stomach twisted violently.

  • The Lycan King's Luna Healer    More Than Strength

Emily's POV I swung into action as I’d strategized for… or at least, I tried to.But the effect of whatever was in my bloodstream ruined everything before I could even settle into it.My body lagged behind my thoughts—heavy, slow, uncooperative. Like I was moving through something thick… invisible… holding me back. Before I could adjust–Adrian’s fist slammed straight into my stomach. The force knocked the air out of me instantly as I hit the ground hard, pain exploding through my middle. For a second, I couldn’t breathe.Couldn’t even think straight.A sharp, unified gasp rose from the crowd, loud enough to echo.Exactly what they’d been waiting for.For Adrian to finish me off.Through blurred vision, I saw Adrian walking toward me slowly, arrogantly, like this was already over. Like I had already lost.A smirk sat comfortably on his face.I tried to push myself up…But I couldn’t.The moment I moved, excruciating pain tore through my stomach, deep and brutal, like something insid

  • The Lycan King's Luna Healer    The Fight Beneath the Silence

Emily’s POVThe arena fell into a heavy silence. It wasn’t the kind that came from peace. It was the kind that came from anticipation… from something about to break.Something irreversible.A mistake. A fall. Blood.I could feel it pressing in from all sides, thickening the air until it almost felt hard to breathe properly.Adrian and his parents had corrupted this place for so long that many of the pack members didn’t even question what they believed anymore. Truth and lies had blended together in their minds until nothing felt solid. They weren’t entirely to blame. That was the worst part. They had just… been taught wrong. But even so, I could feel their eyes on me.Curious.Doubtful.Some amused.A few… already pitying me.They had decided it without saying it aloud.I could almost hear it in the silence. How quickly they expected me to fall. How easily they believed this would end.Across from me, Adrian stood like he had all the time in the world.Bored.Not even tense or even al

  • The Lycan King's Luna Healer    A Game Behind the Duel

Malric’s POVI wasn’t going to interfere. That had been my decision from the start. The duel between Emily and Adrian… it was hers. Not mine. Not the pack’s. Hers. Her fight. Her right. And I knew exactly what it meant to her if I stepped in.Victory, earned. Not handed over like she was incapable of standing on her own. That was the only kind she would accept. And I understood that more than she probably realized.Still… understanding something didn’t mean I was careless enough to leave it unguarded.Far from it.I stood at the edge of the arena, my gaze fixed on the wide open space where everything would unfold soon enough. The air already felt different—thicker, heavier, charged with anticipation even though no one had shifted yet.Wolves gathered in scattered groups, voices low, restless. Some tried to mask their excitement. Others didn’t bother. All of them were waiting.Watching and Judging.I exhaled slowly, my arms folded loosely behind my back, posture relaxed on the surface.

  • The Lycan King's Luna Healer    Between Memory and War

Emily’s POVAfter the whole ridiculous drama with Malric and the cockroach, I ended up falling asleep in a way I didn’t even realize was happening. One moment I was still laughing at him trying to act like nothing had happened… and the next, I was sinking into the mattress, trapped in the warmth of his arms wrapped tightly around me.Not forceful.Just… secure.Strangely grounding. He had even admitted later—grudgingly—that there had been no “research” at all.Just an attempt.A failed one.Because he had tried to kiss me again, and just like before, I had jerked back without thinking. Instinctively. And that was what bothered me.Not the rejection. But the fact that it kept happening. As if something inside me was reacting before I even had time to decide. But one thing was strange, the marking wasn't even supposed to strengthen our bond and feelings, but it seemed we even got closer. When morning came, I woke up first. The room was still dim, soft light slipping through the curtains

  • The Lycan King's Luna Healer    His Majesty’s Weakness

Emily’s POV My brow pulled slightly as I watched him.He truly meant it.That much was clear.Deep down, a small, traitorous part of me hoped this might actually work.My back lowered instinctively against the bed as he leaned over me, his hands bracing on either side, caging me in without actually touching me.The mattress dipped beneath his weight. His scent, clean and sharp, mixed with the faint trace of soap, wrapped around me, filling the space too quickly.Causing that small strange flutter in my stomach again. His storm-grey eyes held mine, steady and unyielding, as he lowered his head, clearly intending to close the distance between us.My eyes slowly closed in expectation. Then…A faint buzzing sound cut through the moment.I opened my eyes already knowing what it was.Malric’s head snapped up instantly.A flying cockroach. For a split second, neither of us moved. Then…Like lightning, Malric sprang off the bed.Gone.Just like that.I blinked. The shift was so abrupt it too

  • The Lycan King's Luna Healer    I Knew and Still Stayed

Emily’s POV Everything Irene was saying didn’t even make sense. That I should back out of the duel? Not possible. There was no version of this where I stepped down and let them twist the story however they wanted. I wouldn’t hand them that kind of victory. Not after everything.“Emily… they’re planning something,” Irene said again, her voice tighter now, like she was holding herself together by force.“I know they are,” I cut in, my tone calm, steady. “And they’re not the only ones planning. I am too.”She stared at me, her expression tightening further—fear and worry written all over her face.“This isn’t the same,” she said quickly, stepping closer. “Whatever Adrian’s father is planning… it’s bigger. It’s not just about the duel anymore. The… the King might be involved.”That made me pause.“The Lycan King?” I asked, my brows pulling slightly. She nodded.I let out a short scoff, shaking my head.“They wouldn’t dare,” I said flatly. “They’d be dead before they even tried anything l

Emily's POV “My lord, whenever you’re ready, the table will be set for dinner,” Dax said. Then hurried out with the servants who brought in the mattress.
