Daciana's Pov
The day I took my first breath was the day my mother took her last. Since then, the pack had hated and cast me aside. “Do you intend to just stay in?” Wulf, my best friend asked for the hundredth time. It's the mating festival today but why should I attend? No one would take a wolfless outcast as their mate. “I'm not going, I already told you that” I groaned, throwing my pillow at him. At sixteen, when everyone else shifted, I didn't. I knew. We all did. There was no way I would put myself through another night of that being rubbed on my face. “No, thank you.” I turned so he would know I was done with the conversation but that didn't stop him. “You really should go, Daciana!” Wolf insisted. The moon festival is just another name for mate's day. A large number of wolves turned eighteen today, therefore will be searching around for their mates. Mother was a human, offered to the Alpha to keep the treaty when the werewolves couldn't produce a child. A solution to a dying pack that couldn't produce offspring. It worked, but failed because she died while birthing me. “What do you say, huh?” He gave me the puppy eyes and I laughed. I groaned again, knowing Wulf wouldn't leave me alone even if I ignored him. “Alright, alright. Wait outside, I'll get ready” He chuckled knowing I'd caved in when I got up and got my tracks from the wardrobe. Sometimes I wonder what life would be like if we grew up in a normal setting. No wolf shit, just us. After taking a deep breath, I glanced over at myself before walking out of the room. “I'm ready,” I told Wulf. He stared at me for a while and the moon goddess knew I was dying to know what he was thinking. “How's it?” I asked about my dressing. I've liked Wulf since we grew up. Hearing a compliment from him always makes my cheeks flush. “You look nice….. Simple, just like you” he chuckled. I gave a faint smile. No point doing too much, I'll just be a standby anyway. Wulf hooked my arms with his, ready to leave when the enforcer who is also the Beta showed up. My pack has a crazy way of doing things. “The Alpha wants you to follow me” “I'll meet you in the hall” I sighed and unlinked my arm with Wulf, following Hunter, the Beta. The way Hunter stared at me unnerved me but I ignored it. He had always been like that. When we entered the council, I bowed my head down. It was customary to avoid looking into the Alpha or the Elders eyes. “Raise your head, you're my beloved. You don't have to do all this” Father remarked. The elders at the council whispered, the scowl on their faces visible as I raised my head but I ignored them. They can hate me for all I care, Dad was still the Alpha and his word stands. “Why let her attend when she will only ruin the ceremony!” One of the elders whispered but I pretended not to listen. “You know what tonight is, right?” Dad asked. “Yes Dad” “Would you be joining us?” “I have no choice,” I said casually. He smiled at me. I was always a daddy's girl. The night I was born, the moon goddess had appeared and prophesied that I was the one. Ever since then, the pack had a bone to pick with me. Soon, I was dismissed from their presence so I walked back with my head bowed and closed the door behind me. Before the door shut completely, I overheard them talking about how the crescent blood pack was coming. It was a tradition that began decades ago. The Wolves and Lycans were at each other's throat and the moon goddess proposed it to keep the peace. The hall was already packed when I got there. I ignored their stares and walked to Wulf. “Thank goddess you're here” I laughed. “What if you don't find your mate tonight?” His answer would determine if I'll tell him about my feelings. “I don't know man, I have to find her tonight else I'll be alone” “You won't entirely be alone, you'll be with me. We can both go to that warrior program I've been telling you about” My eyes glimmered with a bit of hope. “You're wolfless, Daciana. How do you want to survive a program with wolves and Lycans?” Wulf quirked his brows. I swallowed hard, his words piercing through my heart even though I have heard him say it over and over again. It was time for the ceremony to begin. Howls erupted from every corner, the sounds of drums filled the room and the crowd cheered loudly as they started coming in contact with their mates. I knew it. This setting is just not for me. “Good luck on finding your mate, Wulf” I kissed his cheek and disappeared before he could say a word. This might sound weird but I desperately hope he won't find her. Tears clouded my vision as I walked back towards my room when I bumped into someone. “I'm so sorry, I should've been more careful.” I wiped my tears and turned to look at who it was but let out a groan instead. Hunter! Him again. “It's fine,” he smiled, revealing his sets of teeth. “I've been meaning to tell you how beautiful you look” His hands found my hair and I instinctively stepped away from him. “Thank you” I mumbled. “Why are you acting like you don't want this?” He gave me a predatory look and stepped towards me, trapping me between the walls with my hands pinned to the top of my head. Why did I let Wulf convince me to come out? Wanting to go to the ceremony was a bad idea. “Let me go, Hunter.” My breath hitched, my eyes blinking in fear. What the hell is he trying to do?! I was losing my cool but no way would I let him know that. He pressed me further to the wall, sniffled my neck and his hands slipped into my top. I twitched my face to the side in disgust and groaned in anger. I see. So this is how he wants to play. My knee found his shine and I kneed him there with all the strength I had, running when he doubled in pain covering the affected area. “You will regret this!” He shouted after me but I was too busy running away. I bumped into someone and fell on my ass. Again! What a bad day today is! “Dad!” I screamed when I realized who it was, hugging him in relief as I cried out. “Hey princess, what's wrong?” I contemplated whether to tell him or not but I don't want to cause trouble since it's a good day for the pack. One that I don't want to ruin. “Nothing. I just want to go back to rest. I thought I saw some Lycans so I ran, they looked scary” “No one would harm you here, you have nothing to be scared about” His words warmed my heart. “I'll walk you to your room so you don't get scared again” I chuckled as he held my hands and we walked, but we were forced to a stop when a loud horn sounded. Once. Twice. I froze, knowing what that meant. Danger! Ruin! An attack!Daciana's POV.The way the alpha looked confused showed me that there's something really wrong somewhere. He wouldn't stop looking at his wrist and wouldn't stop darting his eyes around the floor.I accepted the rejection. It should work and we should both feel the bond getting cut off but instead, what I was feeling was a bond getting tightened. The alpha looked up at me, finally getting over his confused state.“Tomorrow, you move into my quarters to start as a maid,” he said. “We will try breaking this again later. It have to work”He walked past me and his shoulders slightly brushed past mine as he stormed away. I closed my eyes and let out a deep breath. Again, I stared at my wrist and wondered, “What is happening?”I decided to take it off my mind and go back to the dorm. Students still stood outside their door and when I got there, realized they had been waiting and talking about me.It wasn't written on their faces but I could tell from their sudden silence. Whenever people ar
Daciana's POV.“Mate” the word kept repeating itself in my head and as much as I tried to get it out, it refused to leave. It isn't wishful thinking, nor something I imagined.Does that mean I'm saved? Does that mean the alpha will pardon me because I turned out to be his mate?I knew that wouldn't happen when he looked at me while looking angry. His fists suddenly curled after a few seconds and a hint of surprise showed on his face.He knows about the mate bond but the look on his face told me he wouldn't be accepting it. The alpha turned and stormed away from the crowd and Tyler followed behind him.Slowly, the crowd began to disperse while some others still waited and talked about me, mocking me right to my face.I stood still in my kneeling position, staring at a blank space as I processed everything. How did the wrapped paper disappear from my room?It was absurd. And I was sure that I didn't take it outside the drawer after I dropped it.I pushed my thoughts to the back of my he
Daciana's POV.No words could express how grateful I was to Tyler at the moment. Because of him, I got a chance to prove to the alpha that I didn't kill the boy.Once I hand the poison I got from Hunter's place over to them, I'm sure the alpha would investigate it. By investigating, we will be able to prove that Hunter purchased the poison from ShadowFang pack.I was led to the dorm with guards by my sides. The alpha followed closely behind and Tyler also stood by his side. Many other people followed behind them. I recognized most of them to be the warriors I stay in the dorm with. They murmured things about me while looking at me with scornful faces. Of course, they weren't saying pleasant things about me but that was the least of my worries at the moment.I got into my room and went straight to where I had dropped the wrapped paper when I brought it in early this morning. I searched through the drawer but stopped to think for a while.I couldn't find it. “Did I drop it somewhere els
Freki's POV“Alpha, please let me explain” Daciana's voice suddenly panicked when the guards grabbed her.“Lock her up” I growled to the guards.I stared at her with my eyes filled with venom. She killed the little kid from my pack, she caused blood to spill, leaving images of a night I couldn't bring myself to forget. She had the audacity to join my pack even when she had caused us harm. No, that was my fault. I saved her life and brought her here. The guards tried dragging her away, but her chubbiness made it impossible for them to beat her strength. She yanked her hand away from the guards and rushed over to me. Her breath was heavy and unsteady. She fell to her knees, her knees making a loud thud as they fell to the ice rink. My hands clutched around the stick in my hand and I also squeezed the letter so hard because of my anger.“Please…..” she begged. “Please hear me out”The guards moved forward, trying to hold her again but an eye signal from me stopped them. I heard her breat
Daciana's POV.I didn't get a chance to talk with Wulf. I had a lot of things I wanted to tell him, a lot of questions I wanted to ask him. I want to know why he had pretended not to be concerned when I was getting humiliated by the whole pack. Most importantly, I want to know if the blonde lady was truly his mate.“Stupid, Daciana! Just go back home!” I scolded myself in my head and hurried away from the pack, taking short routes until I got to the main road. There was no car1lp to take me back to crescent blood pack and I walked for hours, getting back into the estate by dawn.By early morning, everyone had assembled at the food center for breakfast.“There will be a hockey game between the alpha team and the Beta team today!” The girls in the dorm all cooed, hurrying over to watch the game.I also followed after my meal, heading to the ice rink to see the game. The hockey stadium was a big one, surrounded by chairs for people like us to sit while we watched the performance on the i
Wuana’s POV“Fuck yes…… hmmmmm, yes” Hunter held me, one of his hands on my throat, the other holding my hips together.I moaned beneath him, my hand curled in between his hair. He slammed into me, each thrust harder than the last. The sound of our skin slamming against each other filled the room, the wet sounds fueling my desire for pleasure.“Oh, fuck. Harder, Hun. Faster” I breathed out.Like a dog that heeds command, Hunter increased his pace, both hands holding my thighs to steady himself.“Yes, just like that” I threw my head back and screamed, biting my lips as everywhere burned.Hunter was so big, the tip of his cock big enough to fill my whole cunt but I was being his good little girl, taking it all even without his request. It was the previous Alpha's bed, but who cares. He's dead, and his daughter is gone. Now it's ours, mine to share with Hunter. Whether we decides to sleep on it, or fuck from night till dawn, that was now for us to decide. The sound of my moans mixed with
Daciana's POV.Hours later, I arrived at the medicinal centre in ShadowFang pack.“Luprax serum?” The store man scoffed, turning his face back to what he was doing. My face was covered with a hat, because I didn't want anyone to recognize me. If they do, I won't be able to guarantee my safety. The
Daciana's POV. Was this place more like a prison? Because there are rules and protocols to be followed. Lights go off by 9pm. Anyone caught outside after then gets arrested. Room roll calls also happen by 8pm. Just like a fucking academy. And there are patrols, with guards ready to fire at anyone
Daciana's POV. “What do you mean you don't know where she went to?” The Alpha asked coldly. Upon my arrival at the dorm where my room was, I froze. The alpha was standing, Tyler and the witch standing beside him. He questioned the guard stationed outside to guard the whole building about me. Fear
Daciana's POV.For a moment, I thought I had been caught by the alpha himself, but it was Tyler. When the guards and the training warriors ran past the building, Tyler stepped back and let go of me but his deadly gaze which was on me made my stomach churn.“What the hell were you doing?” He asked w
