I want to scream, but I can’t. I want to call out through the mind link for Maddox to come save me, but it’s like I’m blocked from speaking to him.

Raven pushes her arm in and grabs a fist full of my hair and yanks me out as she throws me to the ground. I cry out as she does this and then hear Cassian’s voice as he yells out, “What the hell is going on, Raven?”

His footsteps hurry down the staircase and I turn to him and our eyes meet. He freezes upon seeing me and Raven says, “She knows, Cassian. She was spying on us.”

I force words to come out of my mouth even though it feels like fear has a hold on me, “I didn’t hear anything, I swear.”
