[Gabriel POV]
Of course, after the fight with my pack and some stray lycans at the park, we all got text messages that there would be a meeting. I was quite uncomfortable about it because I knew that I had abandoned my pack earlier that day, and it wasn't something that my fellow lycans would keep away from our leader. My mind was racing with thoughts of what they might do to me when I arrived, but I couldn't shake the image of Rachel from my head.
As I rode my bike to the meeting place, my nerves were on edge. I knew that I was taking a risk by coming here, but I couldn't stay away. When I arrived at the woods, I saw that there were already a few lycans gathered around the clearing. They all looked up as I approached, and I could see the disapproval in their eyes. The woods were a beautiful and peaceful place, but they held a lot of history for our kind. This was where our ancestors had gathered for generations, but it wasn't always like this. There used to be a cave where we would meet, but the humans had demolished it years ago. Now, the clearing was our only option for a meeting place, and it was where we had come to discuss important matters.
As I made my way to the pack meeting, I couldn't help but feel a sense of discomfort in my gut. It wasn't that I didn't want to be there, it was just that I knew I wasn't on the same level as the others. Being a low-ranked lycan in a pack full of strong and powerful Lycans had its disadvantages. I always felt out of place here, with my low rank and lack of respect from some of the other lycans, but I had no choice but to attend.
The meeting was being held in the clearing of the woods. The moon was high in the sky, illuminating the area with its soft, silver light. I could hear the sounds of the other wolves howling in unison as I approached the group.
The pack leader, Marcus, was addressing the pack members, talking about the importance of unity and how we needed to work together to achieve our goals. He went on and on, narrating how we've faced many challenges and overcome them through our unity and strength and how we cannot become complacent. I could feel myself getting more and more frustrated by the second.
Finally, he called me out in front of everyone, accusing me of abandoning my team during a crucial moment. I tried to defend myself, explaining that I had no other choice but to leave, but Marcus wouldn't hear any of it. He was furious, almost wolfing out right then and there. His luna, Sophia, stepped in to calm him down. She spoke to the pack, reminding them of our achievements and how we'd survived this far because of our unity. The other wolves in the pack responded with a chorus of "ayes".
As the meeting came to a close, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see one of the pack members, named Jake, staring at me with a sinister look in his eyes. "I saw you run off with that human girl," he said in a low voice. "You owe me a big favor for keeping my mouth shut about it."
I tensed, not liking the tone of his voice. "What kind of favor?" I asked warily.
Jake just grinned. "I'll let you know when the time comes, little pup." And with that, he walked away, leaving me with a feeling of unease. It was clear that he was trying to intimidate me, putting me in his style of threat. I knew that I had to be careful around him from now on.
I trudged home with my head hung low, feeling the weight of Jake's words still heavy on my mind. It wasn't easy being a lycan, especially when you are constantly surrounded by others of your kind who hold onto our strict customs and rules. But that was just the way it was. The Lycan's way.
As i walked through the quiet woods, i couldn't help but think about Jake's threat. I had been foolish to think i could get away with running off with a human girl, even if it was just for a few hours. I should have known better. After all, it was against Lycan law to fraternize with humans in any way. But I had always been drawn to them, fascinated by their ways and their fragility. I had never been one to follow the rules blindly.
Jake, on the other hand, was the opposite. He was a strict enforcer of Lycan law and never strayed from it. He had caught me and the girl together earlier that day and had wasted no time in threatening me with punishment. l knew that Jake was just doing what he thought was right, but it still hurts to be treated that way.
As I reached my small cabin in the woods, l let out a deep sigh. I had always been an outsider in the pack, never quite fitting in with the others. But that was okay with me. I preferred my own company and the quiet solitude of the woods. It was the only place I truly felt at peace.
But now, with Jake's threat hanging over me, I couldn't help but feel even more isolated than usual. I knew that the other Lycans would be watching me closely now, waiting for me to slip up again. And if I did, the consequences would be severe.
I slumped down onto my bed, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on me. I thought about the girl I had been with earlier, the way she had smiled at me and talked to me like I was just another human. I knew I couldn't see her again, but the memory of her lingered in my mind.
l closed my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to push the thoughts of the girl and Jake out of my head. I knew that I had to follow Lycan law, even if it meant denying myself the things I truly wanted. It was just the way it was.
As I drifted off to sleep, l couldn't help but feel a deep sense of sadness. I knew that I would always be an outsider, always be different from the others. But I also knew that I had to stay true to myself, even if it meant going against the pack's customs and rules. It was a heavy burden to bear, but it was one I was willing to carry.
RACHEL'S POV: After our pack meeting had come to an end, I couldn't stop thinking about Gabriel. He was different from the rest of the male humans I've met, and I just wanted to know more about him. I had tried to reach out to him before our meeting commenced, but he never answered my calls or texts. I was bored that evening and just needed someone to talk to. I decided to give it one more try and dialed his number. Just like before, he didn't pick up, which only made me more determined to get through to him. I called again and again until he finally answered. GABRIEL POV: I looked at my phone and saw that the Rachel was calling me. I knew I had avoid her and couldn't bear the risk of involving her in my pack's rivalry but she kept calling repeatedly, and I couldn't take it anymore. I tried to switch off my phone, but I picked up the call by accident. I was so nervous, keeping mute for about 30 seconds. "Hello?" I said, trying to sound distant. "Hey, it's me," she replied, her vo
[Rachel's POV] We burst into laughter together, finding the situation quite amusing. Although I had numerous questions swirling in my mind, such as "Why were you avoiding me?" I decided not to spoil the lighthearted moment. It was a welcome relief, the tension caused by his avoidance dissipating like mist in the morning sun. The irony of our situation struck me, as our lives had unknowingly intertwined. "You... you had no clue, did you?" he managed to say amidst his laughter. Chuckling, I replied, "None whatsoever! I simply assumed you were a coffee enthusiast and had a talent for avoiding me." Gabriel shook his head and apologized, "I'm sorry for not revealing my true identity earlier. I wanted to see if you would figure it out on your own." "Well, I did recognize your voice," I responded, "but today hasn't exactly been the friendliest day." We both shared a smile, yet my curiosity about his persistent avoidance of my calls grew stronger. "Anyway," I continued, "why have you bee
[Gabriel's POV] I stepped outside, fatigue momentarily forgotten as a cold wind brushed against my face. My eyes landed on the man who had previously threatened me, standing a few paces away, his intense gaze fixed on me. "What do you want?" I asked, my voice weary yet defiant. He grinned sinisterly, his eyes filled with malice and anticipation. "I have a task for you, Gabriel," he sneered, his voice dripping with menace. My heart sank. I knew this wouldn't be a simple errand. I prepared myself for the revelation of the dirty work that awaited me. "I need you to eliminate a threat," he said, his words carrying a heavy weight on my shoulders. Confusion furrowed my brow as I tried to comprehend the magnitude of the task. "Who is the threat?" I cautiously inquired, already fearing the answer. His gaze bore into mine, his voice low and chilling. "His name is Marcus. He's a rogue werewolf, a danger to our pack. He holds secrets that could unravel everything we've worked for." My hea
[Rachel's POV] I was thrilled as my dear friend Sarah arrived at my family's fancy mansion. We hugged and laughed as we entered, finding comfort in familiar surroundings. The grand ceilings, fancy chandeliers, and elegant decor spoke of luxury and richness. It was surprising to see her so early in the morning, and I couldn't help but wonder why she had come. Sarah knew my parents well since she was part of our group, so she quickly asked to meet them. I happily took her to them, and they warmly greeted her. My mom embraced her before leaving us alone. Sarah was always my closest friend, but she didn't visit the mansion often, so it felt special to have her here. Over cups of hot tea, we caught up on each other's lives. Sarah shared stories of her recent travels, and as we talked, her eyes sparkled with excitement. "Rachel, you won't believe what I found out," Sarah said, her voice full of curiosity. "There's a secret network of werewolf communities." Intrigued, I leaned in. "Werew
[Rachel's POV] Gabriel called a cab for us, and as he touched me, I felt a tingle of excitement. I sat in the backseat, holding his hand tightly. His touch was warm and comforting, making me want to be close to him and understand the mysteries in his eyes. During the cab ride, I felt a mix of excitement and curiosity. I looked at Gabriel, who seemed calm but determined. I didn't know where he was taking me, unaware of his world of lycans and the secrets that filled their lives. When the cab stopped, my heart raced as I saw the sign for the jazz club called Harmony Haven. I got out of the cab and saw the dimly lit entrance, with the sound of saxophones in the air. Gabriel held my hand tightly, leading me inside where a magical world awaited us. The moment we stepped into the club, I fell in love with the cozy atmosphere. The soft candlelight created a warm glow over the small tables. The beautiful music surrounded us, making my heart beat in rhythm with it, as if it was telling me s
[Rachel's POV] I found myself standing alone in a lively jazz club, surrounded by the sights and sounds of people enjoying themselves. My eyes remained fixed on the spot where Gabriel had left me, feeling a mix of anticipation and worry. The club seemed to grow quieter, as if the music and laughter were fading into the background, leaving me alone with my thoughts. Questions started to creep into my mind, casting doubts on Gabriel's sudden departure. Did he not consider me important enough to stay by my side? I couldn't help but feel a rising unease, as if something was amiss. Time dragged on, and the people around me began to shift and move. I could feel their curious glances directed at me, their stares making me uncomfortable. It was as if they were silently judging me, and the weight of their scrutiny settled heavily on my shoulders. The world around me started to blur, and I could barely make out the hushed whispers that reached my ears. A man's voice, dripping with disdain, mu
As I sat in the taxi, my head pressed against the window, I watched the cars pass by, lost in a jumble of emotions. Gabriel's abrupt departure from the club left me hurt and confused. How could he leave me like that? The ache in my heart intensified, and I craved answers that seemed elusive in the chaos of the night. When the taxi arrived at the gates of my family mansion, I paid the driver and walked inside. The guard hurriedly opened the gate, allowing me to enter. Seeking solace, I retreated to my room, desperate to escape the turmoil that consumed me. In the quiet of my room, I stripped off my clothes and took a cold shower. The icy water seemed to wash away the anger and frustration, leaving me feeling raw yet strangely cleansed. Once I was dressed, I returned to my room, where I noticed my phone on the bed, displaying numerous missed calls from Gabriel. I hesitated, unsure if I should call him back and confront him. But doubt and hurt held me back, and I decided against it, pl
[Gabriel's POV] I was lost in a nice dream, enjoying a good sleep when suddenly I felt the shock of cold water splashing all over me. I opened my eyes and found myself face-to-face with three guards, each holding a weird stick-like object. I felt confused as I tried to understand what was happening. "Who are you?" one of the guards demanded, his voice sounding authoritative. I turned away, searching for my phone on the ground. Finally, I saw it and bent down to pick it up, but then one of the guards hit me hard on the head with his stick. "Hey, I'm talking to you!" the guard shouted, showing his anger. I instinctively touched the spot where I was hit, feeling the pain throbbing. "Why did you do that?" I asked, surprised and upset. The guard signaled to his companions, and they seemed determined. "This guy is tough. Grab him!" he ordered. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, I quickly grabbed my phone and made a run for the gate, barrelling through them. The guards, however,
