There was a man sitting in a sofa and waiting for someone, no other than Hadues Donovan. He is waiting for his elder brother Devon to engage in a discussion. However, he did not anticipate the sight of his brother carrying a woman who is asleep in his arms. Despite being a cold man like his brother, it cannot be denied that Hadues remains a gentleman. Now, he observes his idolized brother. No one has ever witnessed him carrying a woman in his arms throughout his life.

'Perhaps I am dreaming,' Hadues thought to himself as he watched his brother ascend the stairs.

"Butler Tom? Am I dreaming?" Hadues said and repeatedly blinking his eyes in disbelief at what he had just seen.

"Second young master, I believe we are both dreaming," Butler Tom replied, and Hadues came to realize that he was not dreaming.

Devon is observing the woman, questioning why he chose to bring her to his room rather than the guest room. Yet, his worry for her continues to dominate his thoughts, making it difficult for him to step away from her.

He stood up to call a few maids to change her dress.

"Clean her and change her into these," Devon commanded, indicating his own clothes, which left the five maids in a state of confusion.

They wondered why the mafia king would want to see the woman dressed in his clothes. Even Devon does not allow anyone else to wear his clothes, particularly women. Consequently, they came to realize that the mafia king has fallen in love with her.

Hadues Donovan is nervously biting his nails as he waits for his brother. He is simply gazing at the stairs when he notices Devon's presence. He immediately stands up to approach his brother, greeting him with a mix of curiosity. "Brother Devon," Hadues called out, following his brother to see where he was headed.

"Hadues, why do you keep following me?" Devon said, even though he is also feared by others. He cannot deny that his brother Devon is far more intimidating.

At the mere words spoken by Devon, Hadues feels a chill run down his spine in fear.

"Is that you, brother? And who is that woman? Do you have a girlfriend now?" Hadues could not help but continuously ask his brother, as he is eager to find out if his brother is in love.

"I did not realize that you enjoy gossiping about my private life," Devon remarked while checking his watch.

"Brother, how can you say that! We are brothers!" Hadues exclaimed in a raised voice that caused his sibling to flinch.

"Hadues, please lower your voice." At that moment, he walked towards the stairs.

"Brother you know that we are family." Hadues pleaded with his brother, but he was ignored and ultimately entered his room.

Devon found it difficult to understand his feelings; it seemed that his emotions for the young woman were deepening. This was especially true when he saw her wearing his own clothes.

'Why do you have that expression?' Devon pondered internally while caressing the woman's hair. "When will you awaken?" he softly said, while observing the young woman as she slept.

Devon lay down next to the young woman, thinking that he did not want to be apart from her or even lose his focus. He desired to see her angelic face wherever he might go. Soon, he was unaware of his eyes closing.

——————

The following day, Devon Donovan lost his temper in his room. He realized that the young lady was no longer beside him. He considered that he must have slept soundly. Thus, he became restless in his quest to find her, regardless of where she had gone.

Devon had never felt so flustered over a woman before. He forcefully opened the door to his room to search for the young lady downstairs. "Where is the woman!" he yelled, his voice echoing throughout the house. All the maids came out from their corners, where they had been gathered in the kitchen.

All of his people were in the kitchen, and in his intense anger, he decided to go there himself to scold them. "I said where's the wom—", Devon was unable to complete his sentence as his anger abruptly faded. Following that, his heart raced when he saw the young lady smiling at him.

"Devon, are you looking for me?" the young lady asked with a smile, while Hadues, who was quietly enjoying his coffee in the living room, almost choked on his drink because of what she heard.

'Did he just call him Devon?' Hadues wondered to himself, as no one dared to address him by his first name.

This was one of the things Devon disliked. Thus, Hadues observed his brother as if he were a child, unable to respond to the young woman's simple question.

"Thank you for rescuing me, Devon," the young lady expressed. "I prepared the meal because I did not want them to serve me, so here it is." She gestured towards the table where various dishes were laid out. Devon did not even recognize a single item on the table.

"Eldest young master, we could not stop her earlier, please forgive us," Butler Tom pleaded, bowing his head along with the other servants. However, Devon did not utter a word. Instead, he simply placed a hand on Butler Tom’s shoulder and walked past him.

This action surprised everyone, including Finn Lucas, who had just arrived at the house to pick him up. Finn was still puzzled to see that his boss had not changed clothes, and the outfit bore traces of blood from carrying the young lady the previous day.

"Come here and take a seat," the young woman called him, leaving Devon with no choice but to sit in the chair she indicated. Even though he typically did not sit there.

Everyone witnessing the scene was at a loss for what to do. This woman had the audacity to command a mafia king.

Meanwhile, Finn's mind was racing. His boss was likely fuming with anger due to the orders given by this woman.

"Don't be shy, join us! The more, the merrier, right Devon?" the young woman cheerfully said, smiling at Devon as if she were unaware of the man standing before her when making such remarks.

"Butler Tom," the young woman called, pointing to the chair, but he merely shook his head in response. They never dined together when the three Donovan siblings were eating.

"Why do you all seem so afraid of him?" the young woman remarked as she examined the man in front of her.

"Everyone, take a seat," Devon commanded, surprising everyone here in the kitchen. This was especially shocking for Hadues. "I do not wish to repeat myself," Devon stated in a cold tone, prompting both Hadues and Finn to sit down, even though they were not inclined to do so.

This was a significant surprise for everyone, as even Hadues typically did not follow his brother Devon's lead. Whenever he ate, it depended on whether their mother was present, as he would not allow anyone to eat unless they were all together.

On the other hand, just as everyone was about to start eating, they were suddenly stopped by the young woman's words. "We should pray first before we eat." This caused a stunned silence among them, and none of them dared to look at Devon, fearing he might be seething with anger.

"Do you pray before and after meals?" the young woman asked Devon, but he merely shook his head like a child.

Finn and Hadues, who are sitting between Devon, are trembling. "Then starting today, you should pray before and after meals," the young woman stated, and suddenly, memories of their mother entered Devon's mind. When she is at the dining table, she does nothing but pray before and after eating.

"What should I do?" Devon inquired of the young lady, as he genuinely lacks an interest in praying.

How can a demon manage to pray? If he just knew to kill people?

At the same time, Hadues, who cannot find his voice, keeps reacting to what the woman says. He cannot help but gaze at the young woman, as he truly admires her, just like he admires his brother, Devon.

However, his admiration for the woman was unique. The Devon they knew seemed to have transformed into a child, obediently following parental commands.

"Close your eyes and give thanks to God for your daily blessings, and ask for forgiveness whenever you commit a sin," the young woman replied, and Devon was about to close his eyes, but upon hearing her words, he immediately began to flinch.

"Why should I thank him? I have no desire to do so," Devon replied firmly as he started to eat, clearly reluctant to comply. The others seated at the table could sense the dark aura emanating from him. Thus, they began to eat, excluding the young woman.

"It's alright, one day you will pray for someone." Devon paused upon hearing the young woman's statement. He was unsure why he suddenly felt a sense of dread, as if something unfortunate was about to occur. However, he did not let the young woman notice his unease until she finished praying alone.
