Chapter 7: Partner in crime

Andrea POV

Today I woke up earlier as the excitement hit me. I guess my adrenaline was too much for today as I can’t stop grinning and smiling. I can't stop thinking about yesterday's conversation with mommy; the secret that I shared with her. It was funny every time we looked at daddy and tried not to laugh so that he wouldn't find out about the secret.

I decided to walk upstairs to their room since they haven’t woken up yet. I walked slowly towards the stairs and headed to their room. I knocked on the door, but no one answer.

“Should I get in?” I wandered outside the room.

I quietly turned the knob and peeked inside. The room was dark, only the light from the slightly opened curtain brightened the room a bit. I walked quietly to the bed, not wanting to wake them. I climbed on the bed, loosened daddy’s hand on mommy’s waist, and laid in between them.

“Good morning!” I screamed loudly to make them aware of my presence in the room. I saw how they started to move, and mommy rubbed her eyes as if she couldn’t believe what she saw.

“Good morning, mommy and the sleeping daddy.” I giggled as I clutched their neck and pulled them closer to me.

“What time it is now?” She questioned, turning to her back to look at the clock on the nightstand.

“Why are you so early today, princess?”

“I can’t sleep, mommy. I’m excited about school.”

“Oh, I know about it.” She chided it in a low tone before looking at daddy that was still sleeping soundly on his bed.

“Daddy is still sleeping,” she pointed at daddy. “Should we wake him up?” I grinned at her, aware of her meaning. I climbed to daddy’s body and sat on his bare chest.

“Daddy, wake up. It’s time to go to work. Daddy, daddy, daddy!” I called him a few times while jumping on his body. He groaned with his eyes still closed.

“I didn’t hear any alarm yet. We still have time to sleep. Stop jumping, sweetheart.”

“I’m the alarm for today. You need to wake up, daddy. Wake up faster, you need to help me to get ready for school.” I heard another groan from him before his eyes fluttered open. He caught me and made me laid my back on the bed.

“You little intruder. I should lock the door next time.”

I feigned a sad face. “So, you don’t want me anymore after you have mommy,” I said, pretending to cry. I heard mommy laughed at my action while daddy pinched my cheek, knowing my trick.

“You’re such a great actress. Should I buy you the Oscar award?” He teased me.

“Oh, really? The gold one? I will have one for real?” I imagined he bought me one Oscar’s award that I can keep in my room as decoration.

“Before that, you will get this first.” He used the same tactic again which caused me to laugh loudly. I rolled to the other side of the bed and asking for mommy's help.

“Mommy, help me. Daddy monster is attacking me.” I screamed in between my laughter.

“I’m coming, princess.” She hugged me and moved me to her side. She laid in between daddy and me.

“Now, daddy monster can’t do anything to my princess.” She said holding my body tightly, and I hugged her back.

“I need a hug too, come here, come here both of you." Daddy joined us afterward with his long arms wrapping both of us. Our laughter echoed in the room.

I was glad that daddy didn’t suspect anything when I told him that I wanted mommy to accompany me to the school today as I wanted to introduce her to my teacher in the school. If only he finds out that the real person that I wanted to show to mommy, he will immediately lock me in the house and I doubt that I can step out from the house anymore, not even to attend any school. Thinking about the thought made my stomach cringed.

“Finally, we are here.” Mommy’s voice brought me out of my deep thought.

“Yes, finally.” I jumped out of the car that stopped near the main entrance of the school.

“Are you ready?”

“More than ready, mommy,” I told her while accepting her hand, but I halted on the way to enter.

“Am I cute today, mommy?”

She laughed, lowering her head to gaze at me. “You look wonderful, princess. Don’t worry about that.” Her statement made me smile sheepishly. I loved everything about her, she always makes me in a happy mood. We walked hand in hand until we reached my classroom’s door.

“Now, show me. Where is our little prince?” She whispered to my ear since that was our top secret. I peeked my head inside the room. Only a few people in the room at the time. While running my eyes in the room, I noticed the boy sitting on his table with a coloring book in his hand.

“Did you saw the boy in the right corner?” I pulled my mom to my level so that I could whisper to her. She bent over and looks inside before asking, “The cute little boy with the coloring book?”

“Yes, that one, my boyfriend, Denise,” I said shyly before covering my mouth with my palm.

“Oh, Denise. He is so cute and handsome. No wonder he caught my princess’s attention.”

“Can I go and greet him?”

“No, no, not now, mommy.”

“Why not?”

“Too early for that, mom. Another time, ok? I’m not ready yet.” The truth is I don’t want to scare Denise.

“Alright then, another time.” I noticed the smile on her face, inaudibly teasing me which make me blushed.

“My class will start soon, mommy. See you later at home.” I kissed her cheeks before giving her the chance to tease me more. She laughed, aware of my trick.

“Uh, now you are kicking mommy out since little Denise is here?”

“Mommy,” I pouted.

She chuckled before kissing my cheeks. I saw her waving at me and exiting the school compound. I’m so glad to have her as my mommy.
