PRISCILLA

The house was still.

Somewhere behind the hallway, I could hear soft murmurs—Lyra giving instructions, doors creaking open, the rustle of sheets as they tended to Gabriel. Davina had drifted off, curled under a throw blanket, her soft snores barely audible over the sound of my own heartbeat.

But I couldn’t sleep.

Not after what just happened.

I looked down again at my leg—flawless now. No bruise, no swelling. Like it had never been broken. Not even sore.

No magic I’d ever felt had worked like that.

Not witchcraft.

Not healing spells.

Not potions.

This was... different. It came from inside.

I rose slowly from the couch, careful not to wake Davina. My foot hit the ground and—nothing. No pain. Not even a twinge. I stood, barefoot, testing the weight.

Still nothing.

The ache was gone.

As if I’d never been touched..

I moved quietly through the entryway, the front door creaking softly as I pushed it open.

Cool air wrapped around me the moment I stepped outside, carrying the scent

PRISCILLA Gabriel leaned forward, his breath uneven but his voice still firm. “Davina. Put in the Moonpine Pack location. We’re going there.”The engine growled as the car rolled onto the main road, tires crunching over loose gravel. Gabriel slumped back into the passenger seat, his breathing shallow, while Davina tapped the screen, setting the route.“Got it,” she muttered, nodding as the GPS began to speak in a tinny voice.I turned slightly, wincing, my gaze flicking between him and the road. “We’re not going back to your house?”He shook his head once, jaw clenched. “The house isn’t safe anymore.”That answer dropped like a stone in my stomach.“So, this Moonpine… is it another werewolf pack?”Gabriel didn’t look at me at first. Just kept his gaze steady on the horizon before nodding once. “Yes. But they’re not like ours. Not urban. Moonpine’s older. Wilder. They’ve kept more of the old ways.”I frowned. “Meaning…?”“Meaning they don’t just run with wolves. They honour the old bl

PRISCILLA Gabriel. The name cracked through my chest like thunder, and I didn’t even realise I’d opened the door until my foot hit the dirt.Pain tore up my leg the moment I stepped out, but I didn’t care. I was already limping toward the edge of the road, adrenaline surging, heart clawing at my ribs like it could tear its way back to him.“Priscilla!” Davina’s voice rang behind me.I ignored it.Or tried to.But the moment her hand gripped my arm and tugged me back, I spun with wild eyes, my balance shifting unsteadily.“Where the hell do you think you’re going?” she asked, panting, her tone threaded with disbelief.I blinked at her like she’d grown two heads. “Davina, are you seriously asking me that?”She folded her arms. “I am, actually. Because you look like hell. Your face is swollen, you’re limping like an injured deer, and unless your bones are made of titanium, I’m guessing your leg is broken.”“Gabriel went for me,” I snapped, chest rising and falling too fast. “He doesn’t

GABRIEL Time didn’t pass the same down here. It stretched and curled like smoke, making it impossible to know how long I’d been stuck—minutes, hours?I couldn’t tell.I only knew the pain. The moment that sigil beneath my feet lit up and swallowed me, I felt my body lock midair—like I’d been snagged by invisible threads. Magic. Ancient, living, and stitched from something far darker than anything I’d ever faced. It hadn’t just trapped me.It had bound me.My wolf was raging, but muted—snarling in a cage of spells that didn’t just silence his howl, but suffocated it.I couldn’t shift. Couldn’t fully move. Could barely breathe. The walls around me pulsed like a living thing, slick and stone at once. And in this place… even silence had teeth.“Still alive,” a low voice murmured.Footsteps echoed—light, precise.I didn’t look.Didn’t give them that. But I felt them. Behind me. Circling. Watching.“She chose you,” the voice continued. “Fascinating.”Then came the cold press of fingers und

PRISCILLA I gritted my teeth and scanned the trees. The footsteps stopped. The silence that followed wasn’t natural—it was the kind that made your bones ache. Like the forest itself had paused to listen. Even Caius looked uneasy, which unsettled me more than anything.“If that’s your master’s backup,” I muttered, “you might want to start running.”Caius didn’t move. “It’s not him.”“How do you know?”“Because I know what fear smells like. And right now, it’s coming from them.”He tilted his head toward the trees. And that’s when I felt it too.Not fear. Not dread. Something older.Something ancient. The trees directly ahead of us groaned—bent—as if something massive moved between them, but when the branches parted, what stepped through wasn’t some towering beast or snarling soldier. It was a girl.Or at least... She looked like one.No older than seventeen, barefoot, in a tattered white dress that barely held together. Her hair hung in long black tangles over her shoulders, face pale

  • The Miracle Luna   CHAPTER 66

PRISCILLA The grotesque figure stood tall in the silence, his body barely held together, the rot no longer hidden by the heavy cloak he'd shed. Black veins pulsed with writhing movement beneath translucent, decaying skin, his face a half-collapsed mockery of what a man once was. And yet… his voice rang out with clarity, aged but sharp. He tilted his head slightly and turned those stunned, yet strangely amused eyes to Caius.“You finally made it, son,” he said, the words soaked in dark pride. “I didn’t know you’d bring her. Look what she did… she brought me back.”Then came a laugh—if it could even be called that. It scraped the air like broken glass dragged across steel, echoing off the towering stone walls. It twisted deep inside my ears and sent a cold shiver tunneling straight down my spine. And then… he stopped. Just like that. Mouth curling back into something between a grin and a sneer.Caius stepped forward with a forced stillness, his face unreadable. “It’s my pleasure that y
