Chapter 9

I woke up too. Atlas slid out of my bed so he wouldn't wake me up, or so he thought. He looked at me and smiled and said to me, "Get up and get ready, your father has been asking for you all morning. I will also tell you what the council's plans are for Seth." I hurriedly got dressed and left with Atlas to go see my father in his bedroom. When I got to my father's bedroom, I quietly knocked on the door and when my mother answered she pulled me in for a hug. It was tight. I could hardly breathe . "Mom, you're smothering me," I said, trying not to laugh. She finally let me go and opened the door fully to allow me and Atlas to enter their bedroom. "Father, I am so glad you are alright." I said as I walked up to his bed. He turned to face me and still looked like he didn't feel well. I reached for his hand and he tried to squeeze it but was still a little weak. He looked at me and smiled at me. I leaned over him and kissed his cheek and smiled back at him. He tried to talk but was too weak
