Chapter 7

' What does he want this time around? '

I stood up from the bed and made to walk out of the room, but Julia held my hands and I looked at the guard, who was still waiting for me. She made a sign to me and I instantly understood what she meant.

" Can you please wait for me outside? Five minutes is enough, " I pleaded, clasping my hands together. He looked at me and then at Julia and let out a sigh before leaving the room.

" What's wrong? Why did you hold me like that? Is there something you want to say? Or am I missing something? " I questioned her, sitting down beside her.

" I just wanted to tell you something before you go and didn't want to say it while he was here, " she explained and I nodded, taking her hands in mine. " You have to be careful, this isn't the Moonfire Pack and I believe these people are more cruel than them, " she expressed her thoughts and I nodded again agreeing with her.

" To be honest, I prefer the Moonfire Pack to this place. This place is scary, " I whined, pouting my lips and she smiled.

" Just be careful, especially around Alpha Victor and all other higher-ups there, " she advised and smiled softly at her, standing up. I mouthed a thank you before leaving the room, closing the door behind me, just to see the guard standing there, waiting patiently for me.

Without saying anything, he walked away and I followed him, heading to Alpha Victor's office, silently praying to the Goddess that I haven't made a mistake again. My heart beat kept increasing and I continued to ponder on why the Alpha was asking for me.

We got to the front of the house where the higher-ups lived, where I was supposed to be living and the guard stopped and turned to look at me.

I raised a brow at him, wondering if anything was wrong, but he ignored me and entered the house, with me following him as I had no option but to comply.

He stopped in front of a door and knocked and after being given the permission to enter, he opened the door widely, motioning for me to go in, which I did and he closed the door behind me. My heart thudded. What's happening?

I stood there, unsure of what to do as Alpha Victor was scribbling on a paper, too busy to notice that I was standing in front of him.

" Are you not going to talk? " He finally asked without looking up from what he was doing. I couldn't believe he knew I was standing there, waiting for him for more than ten minutes and he didn't eat anything.

" I heard you wanted to see me in your office, " I explained and he didn't give me a reply. I cleared my throat and that was when he raised one eye to look at me, giving me a disgusted glare.

"I said," What do you want? " He snapped and as much as I wanted to give him a snarky remark, I knew what the result would be.

" You sent the guard to call for me that you wanted to see me and here I am, " I responded, bowing my head slightly. He lowered his gaze and continued scribbling on the paper.

" Have a seat, " he instructed and I did accordingly, mumbling a word of thanks to him. I fidgeted on the chair until I was comfortable and relaxed and soon, I drifted into sleep.

I woke up five hours ago, my neck was aching due to the position I slept. He was still scribbling on the paper, but I couldn't say anything, I wasn't even sure if he had looked at my side since I was sleeping.

He heaved out a deep breath, slapping his pen on the table and stretched his body, before his eyes met mine. He gave me a quizzical look and I tried my best not to scoff at him.

He didn't even remember that I was sitting down there, waiting patiently for him as per his orders, I just stressed myself for nothing.

" You can go to your room, I'll call you back tomorrow, " he ordered and I shook my head.

" You can say all you want to tell me, I'm not doing anything, " I argued. He couldn't call for me and keep me in his room for five hours and then tell me to go back.

" I have told you to go back to your room. Why are you trying to rebel? You know nothing good will come out of it, " he warned and I remember that Julia was still in the room.

Without saying anything else, I stood up from the chair and fell down back as my feet trembled. I sat down in a position for five hours and my legs were suffering from it.

I looked at Alpha Victor, who was sneering at me. I hated myself for being weak in front of him and I tried to stand up again, but my legs were against me this time around as I fell down back in the chair.

" You can't even walk? " He spat out, his voice laced with spite. I bit my lower lip and lowered my head in shame. At first, he thought I was weak and pathetic. I couldn't just imagine what he would think of me because of what was happening, though he was at fault, but who was I to defy any of his orders or to talk back to him?

" I'm sorry, Alpha Victor, " I pleaded, but was ignored as he stood up from his seat and began to walk towards me. I wanted to cower in fear but my legs weren't responding. I tried to stand up, but I found myself back on the chair.

All of a sudden, he picked me up in a bridal style, causing me to yelp as I instinctively wrapped my arms around his neck.
