LUNA’S POV

“Finish him!” A voice in my head made me snap back to reality as I bolted upright, breathing heavily. The scene of two hefty wolves in human form fighting off their bets in the underground fighting ring. With other wolves present to cheer them on.

“Help!” I watched one of the opponents growl, with his jaw tensed tightly, glaring at the man in front of him with such hatred that could pop a blood vessel. They both collided into one another, balling their hands into fists.

In seconds, one of the men fell to his knees suddenly, his brows furrowing as his eyes became teary and I could tell he was slowly losing his breath from being strangled by the other. Surprisingly they had him released, a single tear dribbled down his cheek as he clutched onto his heart trying to catch his breath.

Lost in the thoughts of the torture of watching mere wolves unalive themselves, I’d suddenly bumped into a figure in front of me causing me to fall off to the floor amidst the rowdy crowd of mostly alphas.

“Hey watch it asshole!” the man I’d bumped into growled angrily, almost knocking me off.

“What on earth is a lady like yourself doing here?”

“Let me guess, selling off those boobs of yours huh?” he teased and for some reason the laughter of the men around erupted in the air, causing my cheeks to redden with disappointment.

I gulped nervously with a hand over my face, wondering why I was there in the first place. I tried to ignore the damn Wolf in front of me but then he grabbed me by the arm, pulling me closer to his chest smiling into my face.

“Let her go!” A familiar voice I’d gotten used to over the years called out from behind me. I turned in seconds seeing that I had just been saved by Garett, a gruff beta security executive who works for the same pack enterprise as me.

Luckily for me, Garrett was a high ranking official in the Stone Moon Pack, which meant I’d just been saved. While I was just the caretaker of the Alpha Prime’s Cubs.

“You're a damn lucky girl!” the man from earlier snorted into my face and then scurried off.

I flattened the patterns on my dress as I turned to face Garrett who had a grumpy expression. Obviously wondering why a girl my rank was doing there.

“Can I come into the main auditorium with you?” I cut in, knowing this probably was the only chance I’d get to see and talk to him personally.

“Whatever!” he responded coldly and then turned to leave, not caring whether or not I was right behind him.

“Finish him!” a loud voice called from the podium, as the other wolves around cheered on. Clearly this was no place for an unclaimed Omega like myself.

My eyes widened in shock seeing how brutal the fighters in the ring were starting to get. As they punched mercilessly into one another, making sure to have themselves beaten to pulp.

But I somehow felt amazed at how easy and less frightening I was slowly starting to find them. And surprisingly I found watching such fights interesting other than the usual fear from the past.

The loud cheers from the crowd erupted in the air, snapping me back to the realms of reality as I wondered what it was they all cheered on for. I perked up to my feet like others, somehow squeezing through the sweaty bodies of the wolf men around wanting to have a close look of what on earth they were yelling about.

On getting close, I felt an unmistakably assertive presence. Whoever it was, they had a strong aura that somehow commanded everyone's attention. It made my Wolf oddly alert and tense. His scent was annoyingly powerful, dominant and terrifying. He was an obvious pure alpha, but then something about him felt strangely familiar.

Soonests, the fight between the mysterious fighter and an opponent began. And a few seconds into the first round, the opponent was badly beaten by the fighter. He punched so hard that the smell of blood and sweat filled the room and I could tell from the way he went on and on, he was clearly not going to stop until blood was drawn.

Feeling a bit restless from all that was happening, I took a bold step forward and slammed my fist against the cage. Which turned out to be so loud that the mysterious fighter froze mid strike, his head snapping towards me.

At that moment, our eyes locked. My mouth dried up as I looked into his steely brown familiar eyes suddenly realizing who the hell the mysterious fighter was.

Kieran Stone… an old crush and the former Alpha prime who’s supposed to be banished to the northern territories for challenging the pack hierarchy.

“Fuck!” I mumbled to myself as I took a step back.

Feeling shocked and embarrassed, I pulled a few strands of hair to the back of my ear trying to look away but then all eyes were now on me.

“Why on earth is she here?” Someone yelled from the crowd and just instantly loud roars erupted from the crowd behind me.

“Get her out of here!”

“Security!”

“Security!” the yelling continued.

Before I could process what was happening, I felt a hand grab me by the arm pulling me into the crowd of agitated wolves that I lost sight of Kieran from earlier.

“How dare you disrupt us?” the crowd yelled.

“Go away!”

With flushed cheeks, I scurried off into the hallways headed for the exit hoping I could get to leave the underground floors where they all were.

I’d be so lost in running off that I didn't see the figure in front of me. And before I could stop myself from bumping into the figure, I’d collided with the man in front of me.

“Shit!” I muttered trying to gain my balance from falling off to the floor.

LUNA’S POVI watched as Kieran’s car disappeared into the shadow until he was out of sight. A scoff escaped my lips as I turned headed back into the mansion.Like always the house was alive with movement and noise from the other staff that lived here. But as the doors swung open, the usual bustle that accompanied the mansion somehow disappeared, leaving only the sound of my boots hitting the marble floor to pierce through the tension in the air.I made my way to the kitchen, my favorite place. I opened the fridge and grabbed a water bottle and an apple from the counter. And just as I was about to take a bite, I paused mid-bite. Feeling a presence to my right. KIERAN’S POV“Seriously?” I yelled, running along the driveway headed where she was headed. I glared at my watch, irked at Luna’s silly act of running off with the keys to my car.It took all my self-control, to refrain from shifting into my Wolf and having her pulled into my grasp. Sweeping her fully into my arms, and claiming her. Her enticing scent filled the air, overtaking my senses. Slowly clouding my judgment of her a while ago. That I forgot everything about the underground ring thing and the night as soon as I laid my eye on her. I had just met her and I was already a mess. It terrified me to an extent, but at the same time, it excited me in an unfathomable way. “You do know how to drive a luxury car, right?” I asked, watching her hop into the driver seat of my car. “I guess, plus what harm would it cost if I have it bashed anyway?” Luna teased, leaning her head back with her determined gaze fixed on me. “I wouldn't do that if I were you!” I said. And in seconds she star

The scent of him was intoxicating. So intoxicating, in fact, that when he leaned closer. My deeper breath caught in my throat. • The Omega's Vow; Mine Was Never a Love Story   Letting go

LUNA’S POVStaring at myself in the cracked bathroom mirror, I took in my appearance just as I did every morning before tending to my cuts. I wasn't particularly sure why I did such a thing every day but all I can recall was that I was hurt. Knowing it's been a year since I’d lost my mate and lover Raven to the attack.A lot apparently had changed. Every now and then I may have a new cut or bruise to cover from me hurting myself. But besides that, my dark-brown hair, light olive skin and blue eyes remained unchanged. It's not like it mattered how I looked anyways, no one noticed me. A few of the Omegas I worked with would around to chat with me every now and then but for the most part of even they avoided me. Even though I was tagged an Omega, I was still ranked above them. Raven always made sure of that… But now with him gone, I was back to being the Omega girl I’d always been. My Omega scent now dulled with grief. It was dark again, and the lightning struck in areas further away.
