Amarah finally pulled away from her grand uncle’s embrace and took a step back, looking up at him and feeling relief sweeping through her body.
“Good to see you looking well,” Gabriel commented seriously. “Are they treating you well there?”
“Most of them,” she answered softly.
“You don’t lie well, Amarah,” he responded with a slight stern look. “Your father should have thought you how to lie naturally. Do you have the pendant with you that I had Kate given to you?”
