Dinner talk

Derek Harrison

Derek and Eva were chatting with each other talking about random stuff when someone knocked on the doorbell. Derek's mother; Toya walked out of the kitchen. "I'll get it!" She shouted before anyone could say anything. "So they did come," Lola said smirking at Chloe and Derek. "Told you they will," Eva said and flick some of her blonde hair over her shoulder. "You don't have to be a bitch about it," Chloe said glaring at Eva.

"Can you guys like not argue?" Mila said as she popped up out of nowhere."No, we can't" Chloe and Eva both said. "Well at least for tonight?" Lola asked. "Fine but only for one night" Eva stood beside and grab Derek's hand. "Guys look who made it" Derek turn around to see my mother walking with two figures behind her. Derek's eyes immediately landed on the brunette girl to see her smiling, funny because what he is smelling from her doesn't match her facial expression.

Derek loved the light green dress with small flowers that she wore to the dinner, her curly ponytail was bouncing as she walks behind his mother and beside her friend. "Everyone, please come to the dining room let us begin!" Toya said clapping her hands and walking in the direction of the kitchen. Derek had caught Scott looking at Stella worriedly and that seems to put him on edge.

"You came after all," Chloe said stepping in front of the two teens. "It's not like you gave us a choice," Scott said, and Stella only shrugged. "I just came because of him," She said pointing up at Scott. "And I came because of that" He added pointing at the inhaler in Chloe's hand. "I still don't see the reason why you want us here," Scott said. "We already talked about this Scott, now shut up and be a nice boy" Scott was about to say something but Stella sent a glare to him that shut him up.

"Come on in everyone!" My mother announced but somehow I couldn't take my eyes off Stella, there's something mischievous about the girl that I can't place my finger on. I look down on her feet to see her rubbing them together, she must be nervous. I also noticed that her butterfly ankle bracelet was on her ankle. Eva grabbed my hand and pull me to the dining room with her, Chloe, Lola, and Mila following us. We all took our seats as Mom place our food on the table.

"Well as you know we wanted to talk to you," My father said once my mother was seated. "Still don't know why we are dinning about it" I heard Scott mumbled. "Scott shut it" I heard Stella said before facing my father with a smile. "Sorry about him what were you going to say" Stella apologize. "Will I was curious, what were you doing out in the woods last night?" My uncle Peter asked.

"Not that it's any of your business but I was searching for a missing body," Scott said shrugging. "I just had a feeling about Scott when I was coming back to Beacon Hills and followed it," Stella said, there was something more behind the story but she wasn't saying anything else. "What kind of feeling?" Peter asked. "The dangerous kind" Stella answered back. "Okay, I'm sure we didn't come here for you to interrogate us," Stella rolled her eyes.

I found myself staring intensely at her mysterious honey-brown eyes there's something behind them, a secret but it's well hidden. I guess I was staring at them too long because I found said eyes staring at me. "Did something bite you?" Always blunt and straight to the point that's Eva Raye for you'll. "No, why" I could hear the beep in Scott's heart he was lying. "Liar, what was it?" Eva pressed. "I don't know, okay? A mountain lion I guess" He said rolling his eyes.

"And what if it wasn't one?" My mother asked, her black eyes were boring holes in Scott's skull. "Then it was a deer or something" He answered. "Wait why do I have a feeling you know what bit him" All eyes turn to Stella who had a glass of water on her lips but was staring at all of us with calculating eyes. "That we do," Mila and Lola said. "Then what is it?" Stella asked while putting down her glass of water.

"Have you ever heard of werewolves?" Scott's face had tensed up but Stella remained poker face. "None that we know of, no" Scott's heart had beeped but Stella's heart was steady, something wasn't right about the two teenagers. "Well from what we saw last night, Scott was bitten and you covered for him," My Dad said, a tiny smile cupped Stella's pouty lips. "Isn't that's what best friends do for each other? They cover for the other if they're in need" Stella simply answered.

"But you lied to your father," Lynn said. "It's just a little white lie it won't kill him" Stella shrugged. Her eyes then looked at mine and found myself lost in them. "Okay, I'm done with the chit-chat, werewolves are real" Eva simply said. "Werewolves are not real," Scott said in a correction voice. "What if we can prove it," Lucien said standing up from his chair looking at both Scott and Stella. "Okay," She said unsure of what to say.

"Stella, you ain't really believing them, are you? This is a joke I'm out of here!" For a split second, I saw his eyes flash gold before he stormed out of the dining room."Well, I guess dinner time is over," Stella said, she stood up from her chair and bow. Stella must have learned manners because her bow was well degreed. "I'm sorry for what Scott said he's just a bit impulsive today" That's when it clicked in my head, the full moon is just tomorrow and Scott's already out of his mind.

Before my mom or anyone else for that matter could ask anything Stella was already out the door. The silence in the kitchen was numb no one said anything for a while."They are very intriguing" Peter commented. "What's that supposed to mean?" Lola asks our uncle. "I can't explain it yet but we can't completely trust them" He continued. "But I don't understand" Chloe stubbornly said. "When we asked about werewolves did you see how Scott tensed up but Stella remained poker face?" Lucien asked.

We all nodded at his question. "Tomorrow Eva and Chloe talk to them but I don't want you to trust them, we don't want history to repeat it's self" Peter looked in my direction and I glared at him. "Then it's settled" We all agree and continue eating and chatting as if nothing ever happens. But somehow I can't seem to stop thinking about that brown hair girl.
