The Rejected Alpha Human Mate

Chapter 1

Chapter 1.

Damian is sitting in his room, feeling restless as he contemplates his current situation. He is the only son of Alpha George, the leader of the Moonlight pack, and at the age of 22, he has yet to find his mate. This fact drives him crazy because he knows he cannot become the Alpha until he finds his mate.

Just then, his phone rings, interrupting his thoughts. It’s his best friend, Alex, on the other end.

"Hey, what's up?" Alex asks eagerly.

"What's up with what?" Damian replies grumpily.

"Really?" Alex says, "Well, I just heard from my father that Allison will be returning to the pack by the weekend," he continues with excitement in his voice.

"Is that why you called me?" Damian asks him.

"Do you even remember who Allison is?" Alex asks, noticing Damian's lack of enthusiasm.

Damian pauses for a moment before responding, "Why should I be excited that that human is coming back?" he says with irritation in his voice.

Alex chuckles at the other end of the line. "We used to play together when we were kids, you know. Though the both of you were always at each other's throats."

Damian clears his throat and says firmly, "We didn't like each other then, and it will remain that way even when she returns."

Alex chuckles at the other end and remarks, "You just couldn't handle the fact that she always stood up to you even though she's a human."

"Whatever," Damian replies, knowing he is right.

"I have a lot to attend to now, so we'll talk later," Damian tells him before ending the call.

Damian has more important things to worry about than that human. Why was she returning after seven years? Why was Alex even concerned about such trivial matters? He decides to go to his father's chambers to find out more.

"Good morning, Dad," Damian greets him.

"Morning, son," his father replies.

"Have you heard that your friend will be returning to the pack this weekend?" his father asks.

"Which of my friends?" Damian asks, feigning ignorance.

"Allison," his father replies.

"She's finished her degree, so she'll be coming back."

"Okay," Damian says in response.

His father looks at him and shakes his head. "I know you don't like her, but please be nice to her when she gets here, okay? I don't want her to feel unwelcome because she's not like us. You know she's like a daughter to me, right?" he pleads.

Damian sighs and reluctantly agrees, "Okay, Dad. I'll try to be nice to her."

His father nods and smiles at him. Being nice to Allison wasn't going to be easy, but Damian was going to try for my father’s sake.

Allison wakes up to the sound of her phone ringing. She sleepily reaches out for the phone and answers the call without looking at the caller ID.

"Don't you think it's too early to be calling someone?" she grumbles, annoyed that someone is disturbing her beauty sleep.

"Allison," the person at the other end says and she recognizes the voice. It's Alex.

"Alex, why did you have to wake me up so early?" she asks, smiling despite herself.

"Well, maybe it's because my friend didn't think it was necessary to inform me that she would be returning home!" Alex says with fake anger.

"Calm down, Alex," Allison says, chuckling.

"It's not like I didn't want to inform you, I just wanted to surprise you by just appearing suddenly but I guess my surprise has been ruined."

"Whatever," Alex says, his laughter giving him away.

"How's the Alpha and beta Daniel?" Allison asks.

"They're fine, Ally. Why aren't you asking of him?" Alex asks.

Allison knows who Alex is referring to, but decides to play dumb.

"Asking of who?" she asks with an innocent voice.

Alex laughs before finally answering.

"I know you know who I'm talking about, Ally. Why are you not asking of Damian? You used to have arguments and fights all the time before you left."

"I don't know what you're talking about, Alex," Allison says, not wanting to talk about Damian.

I was looking forward to seeing everyone else at the pack put I’m not sure I’m really prepared to see Damian. We weren’t really close back then and I don’t know If it’ll be the same.

"I'll see you this weekend, Alex. I need to go back to sleep," she says before ending the call.

Allison is looking forward to returning home where she knows she'll be surrounded by people who love her. Damian isn't one of those people, and she's not sure if she wants to see him. They always fought as kids, and she wonders if he's still the same. She lets out a sigh and lays back on her bed, resigned to finding out.
