Reunion with Mira

The moon stood elegantly above the trees, glowing with a pearlescent light that cast silvery beams across the wooded landscape of the Blackwood estate.

The excitement of the upcoming hunt thrummed in the air, but in a quieter part of the forest, hidden from the main event, Becca moved purposefully through the trees, her steps light but deliberate.

She had seen Mira slip away earlier and her instincts told her to check on her.

Her heart beat with a mixture of anticipation and anxiety.

Mira had been tasked with one of the most dangerous missions tonight—sneaking into Desmond's private quarters to retrieve the elixir that had been controlling Eugene's wolf.

The mission had been risky.

If Mira had been caught, there would have been no way out.

As Becca pushed past a tangle of hanging moss and emerged into a clearing, she froze.

Standing a few feet away, changing from a modest forest-colored cloak back into the midnight blue ballroom gown she had worn earlier, was Mira.

"Mira!" Becca

  • The Rejected Omega's Redemption    The Price of not being with him

Becca sat wrapped in a thick wool blanket at the base of the grand staircase, the faint glow of the lantern behind her casting long, flickering shadows across her worried face. Each tick of the clock felt like a hammer striking her chest. The minutes stretched into what felt like endless hours, every gust of wind outside whispering threats through the cracks in the mansion’s walls. Her heart twisted with every creak of the floorboards, every distant howl. Had something terrible truly happened to Eugene? Had she let him go to his death?Suddenly, a voice pierced the oppressive silence: “Lady Becca!” Max’s voice, hoarse and desperate, sent a jolt of electricity through her limbs. She jumped to her feet, the blanket falling from her shoulders and pooling at her feet, her eyes straining to see beyond the darkness that lay past the open front doors.Lantern light came wildly through the stormy night until Max appeared, staggering beneath Kaelyn’s weight. The girl looked pale, her ey

The forest was cloaked in an unnatural silence, broken only by the harsh, ragged breathing of Alpha Eugene. Blood trickled from the wound on his shoulder where the rogue’s fangs had sunk in. The poison had spread fast, burning through his veins like acid. Each pulse of his heart sent waves of dizziness crashing through his mind.Kaelyn’s hand found his arm. "Eugene! Stay with me! You can’t fall now, please!" Her voice trembled with fear, but her eyes shone with fierce determination.Eugene tried to straighten himself, but the world tilted wildly. His legs threatened to buckle. He clenched his jaw, forcing his body upright even as his vision darkened at the edges. "I’m not…going anywhere," he panted, his voice rough and low. "I’ll protect you…no matter what."From the shadows of the treeline, the three rogue wolves raised forward once more, their eyes gleaming with malice. Their fur bristled, fangs bared, low growls vibrating in the air.Kaelyn stepped back, but Eugene pulled her

  • The Rejected Omega's Redemption    The Wolves of the Cliffs

Kaelyn’s legs trembled as she stood behind Alpha Eugene, her breaths shallow as the darkened forest seemed to press in around them. This situation was one she never thought she would never have to experience but the rogue wolves around her only made the reality hit harder.Moonlight fell in through the long branches and leaves of the surrounding trees, illuminating the gleam of Eugene’s silver fur as he allowed himself only shift a part of his body into his wolf form, standing protectively in front of Kaelyn. His muscles were tense, his eyes burning with lethal determination to protect Kaelyn and stop any attack that would be directed to both of them.Three rogue wolves crouched in a semicircle before them, their viscous teeth bared, their eyes flicking between Kaelyn and Eugene like hungry predators. Behind them stood a fourth wolf — taller, more powerful, with ragged fur and a single scar slicing across his face from brow to chin. Judging from his powerful stance and demenor, he

Kyra’s sobs had finally quieted to gentle hiccups, her face red and puffy from hours of crying. She stared vacantly at the wooden floorboards, her small hands fidgeting with the frayed edge of the blanket. Her eyes were swollen, her lashes stuck together with tears that still glistened in the dim lamplight.Becca reached out and tucked a stray lock of Kyra’s hair behind her ear, her voice soft but firm. “Kyra, sweetheart, you should go to bed now. You’ve been up for hours. Rest will do you good.”Kyra looked up sharply, her eyes glinting with fresh fear. “No, Lady Becca. I can’t. What if something happened to Kaelyn? What if… what if she’s hurt? What if she’s all alone?”Mira, sitting cross-legged beside them, placed a gentle hand on Kyra’s knee. “Kyra, Kaelyn is not alone. If she’s with Alpha Eugene, then she’s safer than anyone else in this pack right now. You know how strong he is.”“But what if they’re not together?” Kyra’s voice cracked, desperation raw in every word. “What

  • The Rejected Omega's Redemption    Figures in the Woods

A throbbing pain pulsed through Alpha Eugene’s skull as consciousness slowly returned to him. The damp scent of moss and earth filled his nostrils, sharp and cold in the night air. His eyes fluttered open to find himself lying on a bed of leaves, darkness draped heavily over the woods like a suffocating blanket. His heart pounded as memories slowly came back.He remembered flashes of the sudden fog that had curled around him and Kaelyn like ghostly fingers, the way his vision had gone black without warning. He immediately sat upright, wincing at the stiffness in his muscles.Kaelyn lay beside him, her chest rising and falling gently, her hair tangled across her pale face. Just beyond her, Helios—his massive black warhorse—lay unmoving, legs tucked awkwardly under his body.“What… what in the Goddess’ name happened?” Eugene muttered under his breath, raking a hand through his damp hair. He scanned the shadows around them. The forest was eerily silent except for the occasional rus

Luna Seraphina’s eyes snapped open, fury flashing in their emerald depths as the echoes in the mansion grew louder. She sat up, her hair falling in perfect waves over her shoulders despite having been asleep moments ago.“What in the name of the Goddess is this racket?” she hissed, her voice low and venomous. “I swear, if this house doesn’t shut up right now, I’ll have every single one of them flogged for disturbing my beauty sleep.”Beside her, Desmond’s eyes fluttered open, his own expression a mask of annoyance. “It’s like they’ve forgotten who lives here,” he muttered. He slipped out of bed, his feet gliding over the polished wood as he walked towards the tall, arched windows. He pulled the velvet drapes aside and gasped softly. Below, a sea of guards swarmed the courtyard, moving with tense purpose as torches and lanterns flickered in the darkness. He turned back to Seraphina, who was now standing, arms crossed. They came outside the room and met with Ava.“There must be so
