Chapter 3: Flutter

As she spoke, Amanda's eyes turned to the door, lest the door burst open and that girl would come in and stand in front of her.

"Have you eaten?" Gregori asked Amanda.

"I have not ... yet." Her stomach growled when she heard him mention food.

"Wait for me 20 minutes, I'll buy you something to eat and I'll come to you immediately." Gregori also seemed in a hurry.

Amanda just sat in the same position looking at the door, half scared, half waiting. Every now and then she would look up at the clock hanging on the wall across from her seat. The whole room was silent except for the slow ticking of the clock to the rhythm of her heart.

Just yesterday, the whole family was happily teasing Amanda, went out there and fell in love with him again, refusing to return to his hometown. Or go out and have fun and forget to remember your parents and younger brother.

Her whole room in the London branch was excitedly eating and saying goodbye. Two days ago, Amanda was still drunk when they drank too much alcohol. The guy in the room who likes her, gets drunk and cries, saying, "I always stand in the same place waiting for you to come back."

He was actually Amanda's college friend. Because I love her so much, I followed her to apply for this company. With his ability, an excellent academic record, and a smart mind like him, he would have been accepted elsewhere. Unexpectedly, after knowing that she could interview here, he came to apply and work two weeks before her, while she had to wait a month.

As soon as he entered, he was appreciated, loved, supported by his boss and paved the way for further opportunities. I'm just an ordinary employee, he takes care of everything difficult, so in the company, she also has some achievements.

This time the head of the department sent her to Glasgow to train and work outside for a while. He didn't let her go, but because she wanted to get rid of him, she agreed immediately. Pursuing for a long time, he did not have any vibes in her, just friends, deep gratitude. He also made her parents strangely endearing. Every weekend, he brings a fruit basket to the house, cooks with his aunt and mother, chats with his father. Especially buying things that make his younger brother happy.

t has also been 3 years of being together since college, from the day he announced that he would marry her, now that she was free, she wanted to go back there. Amanda was afraid of the gloomy, cold atmosphere around the room, of the unfamiliarity of a city that had not been set foot in at noon.

Knok Knok Knok…..

The bell and then the cold knocking rang through the night. Amanda ran out, peering through the hole in the door, was a man standing with his back to him. She was afraid when she remembered the child just now, who had turned her back in the same way. Is this a person who turns his head with a cold, bloody face?

Amanda just stood there looking through the small hole in the door, the person slowly turned around, her heart pounding as she waited for the face to appear before her eyes. As a young man with a delicate face, eyes with a little love and joy, wearing an active sports suit made Amanda feel more secure.

Knok Knok Knok……

The knock on the door sounded again, the person's eyes were a little impatient when no one opened the door. Amanda took a few steps back and opened the door.

She poked her head in front of the boy, "Are you...?" Amanda's voice faltered because she wasn't sure if it was Director Gregori.

"I'm Gregori, the director of the North region, spoke to you on that phone. Are you Amanda?" Quiet, very polite and kind voice of a mature and mature man.

Opening the door wider and inviting Gregori in, Amanda poured a glass of warm water in front of him. "Drink the water, please.”

Gregori looked around the room once, finally stopping at Amanda's lovely and gentle face. "You are very similar to one of my friends. Same long hair, teary eyes and oval face.

Then, Gregori sighed again with a little exclamation. Amanda didn't understand what he meant and asked, "Why are you sighing?"

"That friend of yours... how pitiful." Gregori hesitated, then looked out the door.

He recalled the fiancee he once loved with all his heart, but disappeared and could not be found. Someone said she followed someone else but he didn't believe it, still waiting day and night, waiting for a good fortune to come to him, to bring her back.

Looking at Gregori's sad face and vague words, Amanda knew that the girl must have passed away. And he certainly loves that person very much, so her passing is just a loss he is going through right now.

Amanda wanted to dispel the heavy atmosphere so she took the bag of food from Gregori's hand and said, "Let's see what you bring me?"

Gregori also remembers buying food for Amanda but keeps thinking about the past, forgetting about it. Gregori smiled and handed the girl in front of him a large paper bag. "You take it out to eat, I don't know your taste so I bought a bit too much."

Amanda took it in both hands and carried it into the kitchen, many large boxes, small boxes, cakes and milk too. "Why are you buying so much, planning to stock up on food for me for the whole week?"

"If you don't eat it all, you put it in the fridge for tomorrow, afraid that you won't be used to it tomorrow, you'll have something to eat." Gregori sat down on the sofa and talked inside.

Amanda stopped sorting the boxes, turned around and said to the director, "Have you had dinner yet? Or come and eat with me?"

“I already ate, you eat!” Gregori reached for the TV remote under the corner of the coffee table, turning it on as masterfully as he'd been here before.
