“There is nothing special between Nyxana and I.” I paused when I heard his voice and my brows furrowed as I stood by the door. “How do you expect anything to be between us?” Jarek scoffed. “She's just a worthless omega. She's as good as useless to me.” It felt like breath had been knocked out of me at his words that were filled with spite. Jarek was the last person I expected to call me that. I thought we were something to each other. Finding her family after twenty-one years should have been a dream come true for Nyxana, instead, it became a nightmare. Blamed for Rayne’s suicide, the golden daughter everyone adored, Nyxana is cast as the villain. Treated like a slave, shunned as the cursed Omega, she’s forced to swallow humiliation and cruelty in silence. But Nyxana refuses to break. When she crosses paths with the cold and commanding Alpha Jarek, she dares to hope, until he discovers her rank and dismisses her as worthless. That rejection lights a fire in her soul. She vows to prove them all wrong. Her cruel family, her merciless pack, and especially Alpha Jarek. Thrown into the ruthless world of the palace, where bullies lurk behind royal smiles and secrets are more dangerous than claws, Nyxana faces trials that test her strength, her loyalty, and her will to survive. But when whispers of treason and a long-buried past begin to surface, the fate of the pack unexpectedly falls into her hands. And just when she’s rising, stronger, sharper, untamed, Alpha Jarek returns. Sparks ignite, but Nyxana has made another promise to herself: never again will she beg for someone to see her worth.

People always said that miracles did happen and that there was a point in a person’s life when it would take a great turn. And I thought that I was having a great turnaround in my life. I exhaled sharply for the millionth time that day and I rubbed my sweaty palms against each other. The AC on the car was still on, but I was nervous. I couldn't calm down and I kept tapping my feet, my breath shaky. “I already told you to calm down. Don't be nervous.” A warm hand landed on mine and I lifted my gaze to meet the eyes of the woman that I had gotten so close to in the last month. Since I was born, she had been the nicest to me and she was taking me to my family. I had a family. “What if they don't like me?” There was worry in my voice and Azmera flashed a soft smile at me. She was the woman I had come to know as my grandmother. “I already told you to come down Nyxana. Everyone is expecting you and you don't have to worry, you will be treated nicely.” She assured me and I nodded at her. I glanced outside the car window and I was in awe of how beautiful the pack was. I used to live in a rural area with my old pack and my house was a wooden house located in the depths of a forest. Each time I left my house, it was to go to the market to steal just so I could put food on my table. I was not a thief but the situation of things made me steal as people would not agree to give me jobs all because I was a poor and wolfless omega. They treated me like trash because I was an orphan and had no family. But in a few minute's time, I would be meeting my family. My real family and the woman sitting beside me who was my grandma told me that I had a brother. It felt so surreal and finding out that the Alpha of a pack was your real father was a miracle indeed. A miracle that I had always prayed for. “What are my parents like? And brother?” I couldn't help but ask as I was dying to meet them. “You will know when you meet them, Nyxana, but know that they are very nice and love you very much.” “Then why didn't they look for me? And what about the other girl?” My voice was low and Azmera sighed. There was another girl. Azmera had been explaining things to me and said there was a mix up and I was taken away from my parents at birth and the other girl was not the real princess of the pack. The past one month had been Azmera running around to prove that I was the real child, and I was. “They had no idea. They would have come for you Nyxana. And don't worry about Rayne. We told the people that she is your long lost twin and Rayne will not trouble you.” She stated. “But—” “We have arrived. The Alpha and Luna are waiting at the palace gates.” The driver announced and I gasped, becoming more nervous than ever. “See? They even waited for you here. Come on Nyxana.” While Azmera got out from the other side of the car, a guard opened the side of my door and I nervously stepped out. My hands were shaky and sweaty and I was worried about what would happen if I didn't impress them. I looked towards the gate and there were some guards standing but my eyes were focused on two people. The queen and the Alpha. Zethra had a warm smile on her face and there were unshed tears in her eyes. Sylas was not smiling but he had a warm and welcoming look on his face. “Go on,” Azmera motioned at me to move and I moved, running towards Zethra at first and I wrapped my hands around her, hugging her. She hugged me back and I immediately felt something. Peace. “My child.” Zethra hugged me and I felt so much warmth. I was holding my mother and she was holding me back. I had a mother and a father. All my nervousness disappeared the moment I hugged her and I didn't want to let go. I broke off from the hug and I was about to go hug my father when I saw two guards running towards us. Everyone noticed them as well and they suddenly became curious. “Alpha—” The first guard began, panting. “The princess room is on fire, your highness. We have tried to get her out but the fire has spread—” “What do you mean by my daughter's room is on fire?” Sylas suddenly grabbed the guard by the collar and my heart began to race as the smile on my mother’s face disappeared. “What happened to my princess?” She asked, looking horrified. “You high—” “Stop talking! Zethra, come on. Our daughter needs us.” And that was how I watched the people that were supposed to welcome me left. They never spared a second glance at me. I felt so hurt and tears gathered in my eyes. “Come with me dear. They are worried. Don't be sad. Let's go.” Azmera tried to make me feel welcome and I followed her back into the car. I felt empty still and I just stared in a direction as the driver drove into the palace grounds, straight to the main building. I didn't even get the time to admire the beauty of the palace. Everywhere was in chaos and a lot of servants were running in panic and I also noticed the smoke. “What's going on?” I asked Azmera, who looked just as confused. She gestured at me to wait as she turned to get a servant. “What happened to Princess Rayne?” She asked the female servant who had soot on her face and smelled like smoke. “Her room caught fire. She attempted suicide and we couldn't save her. Princess Rayne set herself on fire and she is dead. She left a suicide note in the Luna’s room.” I heard a loud ringing in my ears at the servants' words and it felt like I had been thrown into a dark abyss. Suicide? Why did it have to be on the same day I stepped foot into the palace?Nyxana The moment we stepped into the hall, I could feel eyes on me. Danika was standing beside me and she waved at some people who stopped to compliment my dress and hers. “They are looking at you.” she smiled, whispering to my ear. “Or you. You are Jarek's cousin. Of course, you will be a center of attraction.” I pointed out and Danika shook her head in disapproval. “If you notice, only the girls are coming to say hi. They only want to get close to me because that’s the only way that they can get close to Jarek and probably get him to marry them. He has not found his mate yet, so the elders are asking him to choose a Luna from a noble family.” She explained and I slowly shook my head in understanding. I had not found my mate either. Most people found their mates at 18, I was already 21 and could not feel my wolf yet, not to talk of finding a mate. I needed a wolf to be able to feel the attraction to my mate. So that indirectly meant that there was no possible way for me to ever
Nyxana Wine spilled all over me and I seriously did not know how to feel or react when the girl took a step backward, apologizing to me. My day had been going bad enough, why did I have to get the dress soiled with wine? “I’m so sorry. Oh my God. I was not looking and…I’m sorry.” she apologized, attempting to dust off the wine on my dress, but it was going to be of no use. My dress was already wet and I could feel the stickiness of the wine on my skin. I just wanted to go back into the bathroom, lock the door, and remain in there until the coronation was over. “I was not looking. I’m sorry.” she apologized again and I slowly waved her off. “It’s okay,” I muttered. Yelling at her was not going to help. I lifted my head to see a sullen look on her face. She had short brown hair and there was a slight frown plastered on my face. “The coronation has not even started and your dress is already ruined.” “It’s nothing. It was a mistake. I will figure something out.” I tried to sound rea
Nyxana The last place that I wanted to be was in the palace of Jarek. The supreme alpha. He was getting crowned as the supreme Alpha king and I seriously did not want to see him. His palace stood tall in the high mountains and it was the biggest building in the whole of Silvanok. The other packs surrounded the mountains and they were overseen by other Alpha’s, my father being one. Jarek’s father just died and he was the youngest supreme Alpha to be crowned in the whole history of Silvanok. “Stop acting like you are attending a funeral. Smile and stop being a disgrace.” I bit down hard at my lower lips at my mother’s words. She seriously had to take a break. Not only did they force me to the ceremony, but they also forced me to wear a gown that I hated with everything in me. Since Rayne and I were pretending to be twins, they forced me to wear an ugly green dress, while Rayne wore a beautiful green one. It was all in the name of twins wearing matching colors. But they also wore beau
Nyxana One month later. It had been a month of endless torture and everything felt over after I went through a heartbreak from Jarek. I was not emotionally heartbroken because of love, but I really thought that I had a friend. I was beginning to trust him and he did the unthinkable. Mocked me for being an omega. After I walked out on him that day, he did not attempt to come near me to explain himself and after his rite of recognition was over, he left. I did not see him until he left, but I knew that my family all went to bid him farewell. I did not go and no one even bothered to ask. I had thought that things would be better if Rayne came back as my parents would stop blaming me for her death, but things went worse. They had stopped insulting me and had totally gone acting like I was nonexistent. My mother never spared me a second glance and her eyes were on Rayne all the time. Kael as well. They were all over Rayne and kept forgetting that I was the biological daughter. My life
Nyxana I had no time to hang around, listening to Rayne filling my parents with lies. They forgave her and said that it was a blessing she returned. They never scolded her for playing with everyone’s feelings but instead, my mother kept consoling her, apologizing that she got Rayne scared. Nonsense! I just walked away from their little family show and I needed some fucking time alone for myself. I did not go to my room but instead, I went straight to the river bank. I guessed it had become my place of solace. I had just arrived there when I heard voices. “Why are you here?” I was quick to recognize the voice. It was Rhys' voice. There was no way that I would not recognize his voice. And he was with someone. I quickly hid behind a tree to get a peek at him. He was standing with a man that I had never seen before. “You should stop this already. Leave Nyxana alone.” The man hissed and my whole body tensed up. They were talking about me. “What? It's not as If I'm going to bite. Chill
Nyxana Grandma and I left the house very early and as usual, no one bothered or cared enough to ask. And Grandma asked a maid to tell anyone who cared to ask that she was taking me out on a tour around the pack. It took about six hours before we finally arrived at CresantFall Pack and grandma knew some people there, so we were able to check in through the borders and were taken to the palace. “Will they allow us to walk in just like that?” The palace was huge just like our house and I felt a bit nostalgic returning to CresantFall pack, the people were not nice and were so hostile to me. My family was just the same as them. “Yes. I knew the past Alpha. So my face is very familiar here.” She explained and I clutched my bag tighter as a guard opened the huge doors for us, allowing us to go into the building. Crash. Grandma and I stopped walking at the sudden crash that we heard the moment we walked into the sitting room. It was the sound of a plate breaking to pieces. “What the hell
