"Where is he?" He asked as he titled his head and glared down at me. His scar on the eye made him look even more horrifying. I wonder how many scars he has on that face of his which he hides. I was terrified but I tried my best to stay calm and composed because his mere presence makes me want to run away and hide somewhere where he can never find me but I fail to hide and not only I risked my life but his too. "He...is not w-with me." I said and he raised his right eyebrow where the scar stood proudly. "Really, hazelnut?" He asked as he caressed my cheek with his pointed knife, knocking my soul out for a fraction of a second. *** Sebastian Martinez a 27 years old, cold, stern and brooding leader of a gang named 'the scars'. Chapter 1

1

I opened the window and let the air caress my face. It was drizzling outside, making the weather colder and the surroundings beautiful. I got a little outside and looked around. The shops around the area were still closed including mine.

I looked up at the sky and sighed. Dreams....I have lots of dreams to achieve and I've started the journey to achieve them. Being without parents was a lot harder.

Although I've lived in an orphanage from the age of five, I don't live there anymore because I'm twenty now but I do miss that place so much and keep visiting it from time to time.

I have a small house of two floors. I live on the second floor and have a boutique on the first floor. It is small but at least it helps me feed myself and I'm able to buy stuff on my own. One day I will make this small boutique even bigger with time.

Other than that I'm a writer. I like reading and writing books. At first I used to just imagine it and my imagination was so strong that my best friend boosted me to write it and I did write it and many people liked it. That's when I started the journey of my writing. This is the thing I love to do. Writing keeps me alive. It helps me fight through my loneliness and pour my affection into my writing.

Sometimes when my mind stops copying up with me I just look up at that blue sky and it soothes my soul, somehow.

That blue sky was the only thing I saw before losing them.

I don't know how I ended up in a garbage truck when I clearly remember I was on a road trip with them. Those memories never fade away no matter how much I try. They stick to me like glue and I've accepted them.

I wouldn't say why me? Because this faith of mine has made me what I am today but still remembering them shakes my soul to the core.

I would love to write a book on them once in my life if I ever got a chance.

"Hey..... Aurora." I heard someone yelling my name. I snapped my eyes down on the street and saw my jolly neighbor Aunt Melissa.

"Good morning." I said politely and she looked up at me with her hands covering her eyes so that she could have a proper view of me without letting any rain drop disturb her.

She loves rain a lot and doesn't go home for a second when it's raining outside. She'll keep her kids inside so they won't get sick but she won't stay inside unless she is getting sick.

She has a small cafe under her house just like mine but her house is a lot bigger than mine because she lives with a family and I'm a loner.

"Are you gonna open the cafe or what?" I asked while yelling so she could hear me easily because the rain was getting heavier and heavier after every passing second.

"I don't think so. The rain is getting heavier." She yelled back and I nodded with a pout. So, it means I won't be able to open the boutique today but guess what I'll get extra time to read my books and also write.

"Go back in, unless you want your kids to be a loner like me." I yelled at her and she made an offended face before shrugging. She looked around and passed me a smile before rushing into her house.

I shook my head and Kept staring at the place she was standing. That poor woman lost her husband a year ago. She might don't know the cause of his death but I do.

I know what lies around this small city but I refuse to think about it.

All of a sudden my phone started to ring. I lashed my eyes away from the spot I was staring at for the past few minutes. People do call me crazy for staring at a certain spot for a long time and I don't even know when I zone out.

I walked into my room and grabbed my phone from the bed. Sophia was calling. Why is she calling this early? She usually wakes up late. What a surprise, I guess.

"Hello." I said and I immediately pulled my phone away from my ear when she started to yell all of a sudden. "Slower, animal." I said and she lowered her voice in no seconds. I'm a person who never really talks much and whenever I do I'm always slow and polite. Totally opposite to her and opposite interacts the most.

"What were you saying?" I asked and she huffed out loudly. "Did you hear the news?" She asked and I frowned. Well, Sophia has been my best friend since childhood. We both grew up together in the orphanage but she is still living in the orphanage, trying to find her ambition which she truly lacks. She only likes to gossip. She knows whatever is going on around the city. She doesn't move out of the orphanage even though she is twenty years old. She works in a cafe to support herself and the orphanage that's why they let her live there.

"No." I said. "As expected." She said and I walked towards the window again. "Can you tell now?" I asked as my eyes roamed around my area. I couldn't even see a soul around and the rain was continuously pouring down.

"The Scars are on the haunt." She said and I sighed. "So, what's new about it? I don't understand why people are so scared of them. They never really harmed anyone." I said and she let out a frustrated sigh.

"They are behind someone." She said,
