Chapter Eighteen
Koray growls behind me as he spots Reign at the top of the staircase. He shoves me behind him and I roll my eyes.
“Reign,” he says through his growl.
She looks at him, her blue eyes judging him as he hides me. If looks could kill, Koray would be dead right now.
“My dear, please will you join us downstairs?” Quintin asks. The way he speaks to her was so warm and lovely.
Reign turns to him and smiles. Nodding her head once and I notice Quintin just beaming up at her. He was clearly in love with her and it was refreshing to see. Reign gracefully makes her way down the staircase meeting us at the bottom, Quintin grabs her hand before kissing the back of it. She smiles at him as she lifts her hand to his cheek. I shift my weight on my feet feeling awkward watching them so in love.

We need to get out of here. He can’t make us shift. I look around the cage for anything that can break the lock. The last thing I remember was Quintin showing me where I was going to sleep and then I got hit in the back of the head with something knocking me down before a needle was shoved into my arm. Arriving back at the pack house I notice it’s quiet. Shifting back, I walk up the back stairs and into the house. There isn’t anyone around. I head upstairs to check the bedrooms. Reign and Quintin’s room was empty and so was Koray’s’. Sniffing the room, it didn’t even smell like he had been in here at all. I head into my room and grab some clothes Reign laid out for me on the bed. I pull on the bright yellow tank top and cute jean shorts before heading back into the hall.I decide to check the office but the door was locked. I knock and put my ear to the door but I can’t hear any movement inside. I shrug before heading back downstairs.“Hello, is anyone here?” I call out but no reply.Looking around when I hit reach the bottom I figure they must have gone for a run themselves.“Food!” Nina whines in my head and I head toward the kitchen. Cassidy POVI watch as Nina fights the wolf, I can feel my heart racing knowing I can’t help. Every blow feels painful and I’m surprised she knows how to fight. Jordan POVIt was another hour before we crossed back onto our pack land. I had already mind-linked dad to let him know we were coming and he was mad as hell at Koray for taking off with Cassidy. I knew I was in the shit the second we got home so I took my time. I hated when he was mad. Vanessa POVShifting I let Athena run to our old spot. Jordan didn’t say really anything, just that he wanted to meet up and I was hopeful he had changed his mind but his voice sounded odd. I knew something was up with him. It took Athena half an hour to reach the lake where we used to hang out. It was like our own private lake, nobody else really came here. It was special to us and us alone. When we got closer to the rock he was sitting on Athena shifted back, allowing me to talk up to him.
