Chapter Twenty-Two
Cassidy POV
I watch as Nina fights the wolf, I can feel my heart racing knowing I can’t help. Every blow feels painful and I’m surprised she knows how to fight. I was never allowed at any of the training days in the pack because it was for wolves only and yet somehow Nina knew how to fight him off. Maybe it was instinct but I felt proud at every hit she landed. I spot Koray watching from the side and suddenly Nina is on her back pinned underneath the other wolf.
“USE YOUR LEGS!” I scream at Nina and she lifts them up underneath him and I can fell her use the full force of her body weight to kick him off.
The wolf collides with a tree and she scrambles to her feet making a run for the safe road only to stop when we hear Koray attack the wolf.
“We need to go before anymore come; we can’t fight them all off!” I tell her, remembering all the wolves I saw in front of the pack house when we first arrive

Cassidy POVSitting on the couch with Byron I felt safe. I know Jordan was hurt but it’s not like I expected Byron to be my mate. Vanessa POVShifting I let Athena run to our old spot. Jordan didn’t say really anything, just that he wanted to meet up and I was hopeful he had changed his mind but his voice sounded odd. I knew something was up with him. It took Athena half an hour to reach the lake where we used to hang out. It was like our own private lake, nobody else really came here. It was special to us and us alone. When we got closer to the rock he was sitting on Athena shifted back, allowing me to talk up to him. Nina POVI was tied up and a hessian bag was placed over my head so I couldn’t see. The ropes were laced in wolfsbane and they burnt on contact with my fur. Burning rings around my paws. I was thankful I had locked Cassidy away, she didn’t need to see or endure this. I whined for Chase as I felt the ropes tug and I fall over. They were dragging me along the ground. Cassidy POVI felt myself coming back up to the veil. Nina either letting me in or letting her guard down. I start to feel the pain she was feeling and I knew something was wrong. Her eyes were closed so I couldn’t see what was going on. I tried to call out to her but she wasn’t responding which was weird. I walk up to the veil and press against it before feeling myself take control and we shift. I struggle as I realise my hands and feet are tied together like I was a hog. Lani led the way through the tunnel, Vanessa was too afraid to go first for fear of cobwebs. It was so dark down here it was hard to see anything. Cassidy POVI was awoken by a hose spraying wolfsbane at me from below. I cry out in pain as it tears into my skin. Some of it getting into my throat and burning me from the inside as I instinctively swallow. I hear laughter at my pain and I open my eyes for the first time in this room. I’ve been too scared; I didn’t want them to see the fear in my eyes but I couldn’t keep my eyes closed forever. I look around and notice it’s a big concrete warehouse and I was on top of some sort of raised platform made of concrete. The room was brightly lit by heaps of industrial lamps on the roof. There wasn’t much in the room except two cars and the van I assume to have been brought here in, by the one roller door at the end of the building.
