Derek Dad is really mad this time. He normally wouldn’t scold me for drinking but I never did stay out all night. I know I am going to hear it from mom later too. She may even start crying. “You have no idea how excited I am,” I say with a huge grin. Jack laughs, “Miranda told me how much you like Harry Potter.” He then leans closer. “You’re cute when you’re all excited,” he whispers in my ear. I blush at his comment. The lights begin to die down and the previews begin to play. The theatre is packed. Jack has the popcorn in his lap. I grab a handful and begin eating some when he unexpectedly takes my hand and slips his fingers between mine. I look at him from the corner of my eye and he is looking forward at the screen. I turn my attention back to the movie as it is beginning and I smile. About half way through the movie I shiver. I should’ve brought a jacket, theaters tend to be cold since they keep the air conditioners on. I would say we all have the gene and it has to be triggered.“ “Does it say how to trigger it?” “It says in times of danger or great loss. Their life has to be seriously threatened and almost to the brink of death for the gene to trigger or someone close to that person dies and not just of old age, a horrific death. Derek The next morning my eyes feel like sandpaper with the little sleep I got. I stayed up way too late studying up on the dragons. I have a feeling dad is going to try and quiz me to ensure I actually read the book. My alarm goes off at six in the morning. I groan, wanting to throw the damn thing to shut it up. I drag myself out of bed and take a cold shower to help wake me up. After showering and getting dressed I head downstairs to the kitchen to grab some breakfast before having to meet dad in the office. Miss Kat, our cook, always makes the best food.
