Amyra's POV: My mind skipped beats at intervals as I approached the palace. It was one place I'd give up anything to not visit due to the evil people habouring there, but I just couldn't stop going. It was from here myself and my mother fed, so if we stopped working here it'd cost us a lot. Wishes couldn't be horses for once, could it? Getting into the palace, I quickly went over to join the other slaves in cleaning the palace, sliding my phone into my sling bag, but Luna Haelynn still somehow caught me. "What are you peasant doing, coming late?" "I'm sorry." I mumbled, tilting my head a bit from her gaze. "I asked for an answer, not an apology. "I had...." "You know what? Save it." She uttered with disgust whilst the other slaves stole quick glances at us. "Now get to work!" She had not finish leaving the sitting room when a guard ran inside. "Alpha Greg's uncles are here." He breathed out. The three of them? At the same time? How weird. "Hurry Amyra. Make yourself useful and go show them to their various chambers." Luna Haelynn said and I scurried after the guard. I sighted my 3 grand uncles as we stepped out; Alpha Valtor, Alpha Gatler, and Alpha Finius. Being the Alphas of three different packs, they all had their different levels of strength. I never liked any of them, cause they hated my mother and I as well, calling us outcasts. My grandfather couldn't pardon my mum for falling in love with a human and mating with him, giving birth to me - an hybrid. Instead, he drove her out of the palace, casting her out of the family. And even though he's dead, everyone still sees us as that, except for Alpha Greg, my uncle. But he couldn't go against his late father's rule by bringing my mum and I back into the palace, instead he allowed us work there, creating a mean of livelihood for us. Following along side the other slaves, I picked up one of the big bags and started back into the palace, leading the way to their various chambers. Getting to their chambers, I signalled the other slaves the different rooms they'd keep each of their bags. Going back to get the last bag which I presumed belonged to Alpha Valtor, as I'd taken it from his car, my mind started roaming through different things. When did my grand uncles get so close as to make and agreement to come together? That couldn't have been a coincidence, could it? Could this be an opportunity for me to get closer to them, so they could help my mum and I? Approaching Alpha Valtor's room, I started hearing whispers from his room, getting my curiosity piqued. I moved closer to the door and the voices became clearer. "Something should be done about him." I heard Alpha Finius say. "I second that. He's too weak to run this clan, he's only but a child. We need someone capable." Alpha Gatler said grumpily. "That's why this festival is the perfect time to strike. Tomorrow, during the festival we seize the moment and do something about him." Alpha Valtor announced. "We'd wipe them all." Alpha Gatler said. The bag mistakenly dropped from my hand, making a loud noise and I immediately picked it up and moved backwards. The doors opened almost immediately and Alpha Valtor emerged from the room, his gaze hard, probably wondering what had happened. As his gaze fell on me, I instantly dropped my head, acting like I was walking towards his room. "Clumsy half-breed, they can never do things right." He cursed under his breath, grabbed the bag from me, and walked back into his room, shutting the doors behind him. The rest of the evening was a blur to me, as I struggled to keep my emotions in check. My mind kept on racing with thoughts of betrayal and deceit. How could they do this? Couldn't they care about our Pack's wellbeing? During dinner, I watched in disgust how these so called brothers of my grandfather were laughing and smiling with my family. I couldn't just shake of the feeling that our pack was in grave danger. I thought of talking to someone in the family, but they'll hate me, besides no one was going to believe me. After all I was the "half-breed". As soon as I was done cleaning up the dinning table after dinner, I was finally allowed to go home. I excused myself and then headed for my mother's den, which was at the outskirts of the Pack. The next morning, the Pack's hall buzzed with activities. Everyone was making preparations for the festival. I worked with the rest of the workers before heading back to my mum's den. And as I did, I thought about all the wonderful tales my mum had told me about the festival. She had said it was a time when boundaries between humans and wolves were blurred, and those who were meant to be wolves would finally embrace their true nature. My mum had gotten her wolf at the age of eighteen, just as the full moon rose during the festival. She claimed she had felt a sense of belonging, capability and strength immediately. But I was nineteen and nothing yet, and that alone worried me. But maybe just maybe, this would be the year I would finally get my wolf. I had spent the whole of last week preparing for this festival, practising my poses and perfecting my dress. I had envisioned how that night was going to be and finally it was here. With the help of my mum and best buddy, Claire. I was able to make some arrangements for my looks. Claire and I have been friends since we were little, she is a blonde with emerald green eyes while I'm a brunette with big blue eyes, although she's a year older than me, I'm taller. She's an orphan who'd lost both parents in a rouge attack and was living with her Aunt. Claire had always stood by my side, both at the worst and fun moments of my life. During the time when I had lost my dad, she was there consoling me. And now she was helping me out, with my preparations for the festival tonight. "C'mon now, let's go over the list again, to be sure everything is in order." Claire said with a bright smile. I nodded in acknowledgement, as I picked up the list from the bed stand. "Nails and shoes?" "Check." I answered dryly, as I ticked on the paper. "What's up with you? Are you okay? You know I've got you covered on your makeup." Claire said as she grinned. "No doubt on that, everything is in order, I guess." I said dryly. "Yes, but then you don't seem happy." She said "What's bothering you? Spill." Claire said with a small confronting smile. She always has a way of getting me. "I overheard the Alpha's uncles planning something evil for him and the pack. I've not been able to shake off the feeling that something bad is going to happen to our pack today. Also, what if even after the full moon I'm still unable to shift into my wolf? The Luna and my cousin will make life unbearable for me!" I exclaimed. "Chill girl, nothing bad is going to happen, and if you feel like talking to anyone, you can maybe talk to your uncle Greg about it." "Do you think he'll listen?" I asked unsure. "I guess so. Maybe you revealing the truth about your grand uncles to him will change things around for you, and when you finally get your wolf, we'll show your aunt and cousin who the big bad wolf is." Claire said with a growl. We laughed so hard that we both fell on the bed. The room was messy; The bed was covered with clothes, with my peach flower gown and Claire's satin gown neatly folded and arranged. A corner of the room was dedicated to make up and hair accessories with hairspray, brushes and combs lined up like a miniature salon. After thinking deep about what Claire had suggested. That evening I set out for the Alpha Greg's den, determined to expose the plot against our pack, before it was too late. Uncle Greg wasn't as mean as his wife and child, I thought it best to talk to him instead. As I approached the den, I noticed the door to his chamber slightly ajar. I pushed the door open slowly trying not to make any sound. Inside I saw the Luna in bed with my grand uncle, Valtor, his eyes gleaming with a knowing look. What! How could this be happening? No, no, no. My blood boiled as I realized what was going on; Alpha Valtor was sleeping with the Luna, meaning the Luna was in too on the plot. Just before I could even think of what to do, the Luna spotted me.Chapter 5Tristan's POV:I sat at my high throne that stood majestically in the grand hall, its presence commanding reverence and awe. Carved from a single block of polished ebony, it absorbed the light around it, radiating an aura of power and sophistication. Intricate patterns of gold and silver adorned its surface, depicting scenes of mythical creatures and celestial bodies. The armrests were shaped like lions' heads, their mouths open in a fierce roar, while the legs were designed to resemble serpents, coiled and ready to strike. As one approached the throne, they couldn't help but feel a sense of grandeur and majesty. It seemed to whisper tales of ancient kingdoms, forgotten wars, and legendary rulers. The throne's design exuded an air of regality, as it had witnessed the rise and fall of empires. Soft, velvety cushions in a deep, rich black adorned the seat. The throne's backrest rose high, supporting my stature and bearing, symbolising my authority and dominance."Speak." I sai
Chapter 4Amyra's POV:With a swift turn, I dragged her by the collar and pushed her, slamming her back against a tree bark."It was you all along!" Anger flashed through my eyes."What are you talking about?" Claire asked after struggling to get herself back."Where's your necklace?" I asked as I noticed the necklace was no longer on her neck but rather in her hands with some of its pieces scattered on the floor. "You're the one enabling them to track us down.""Yes, you've caught me, well done." Claire clapped as she gave a wild grin, her eyes flashing with contempt. The expression on her face sent shivers down my spine. I've never seen Claire look so evil before. I was weakened to my knees, desperately hoping it was all a dark joke."How could you be among the ones scheming against our people? Come to think that I trusted you, and now this?! What have I done to deserve this?" I asked, struggling not to cry in front of her."Everything, you worthless half-breed. You're the reason wh
Chapter 3Amyra's POV:The crowd gasped in horror as Luke fell flat on his face, swimming in the pool of his own blood. Turned out Kael couldn't stand the shame of defeat. Engulfed with rage, he had taken out his hidden gun, and shot at the unsuspecting winner, blowing his head off. The once celebrated match had turned into a travesty of honour and sportsmanship.Orlando roared in outrage, summoning pack enforcers to restrain Kael. But instead of holding him down, they surrounded Kael with their eyes cold and calculating. Without hesitation the pack enforcers opened fire at the audience. The crowd scrambled to get out of their way, but it was too late. Werewolves from within the darkness emerged, attacking the audience. The pack enforcers aim were true and precise; they were targeted at the members of the Moon glow pack. Then the realisation hit me. This was the planned invasion, the planned attack. "No no no." I cried, moving my head sideways. The hall was in disarray as people scra
Chapter 2Amyra's POV:"How dare you barge into my den like that?" Luna Haelynn asked, her face flushed with guilt. Alpha Valtor quickly scrambled out of bed and walked pass me with a stern look, his shoulders brushing mine."What do you think you're doing?" I demanded trying to keep my voice steady."What are you talking about? Get out of my den!" She spat, as her eyes flashed with anger.I took a deep breath and tried to explain what I had seen, but before I could finish she cut me off."Accusing me of...of... this?" She laughed mockingly. "You really have no idea what I can do to you."Her subtle threat sent chills down my body, but I wasn't going to back down. A lot was going wrong in our Pack and something needs to be done quickly about it.I could feel my blood boil, but I kept my cool. "I'm telling everyone the truth. You're supposed to be a leader not a seductress!" I exclaimed at the end.The Luna's face turned red with rage, "You dare call me names?" She lashed, "I'll have y
