18. Keeping Secrets

Stella POV

It was a late Friday night when Maeva finally came back from the library, carrying a bunch of books. Her key card allowed her access that students don't normally have, so she was able to roam the library at all hours of the night if she wanted to. She even had access to the sections of books that students normally didn't have access to. I'm not sure what she had been working on, or what it was she was trying to find, but she usually went to the library after we all called it a night & came back with few books that she would spend the rest of the weekend reading through.

We had spent earlier in the evening picking out our dresses for the Harvest Fest Formal. I was shocked when she mentioned that she had never been to a school dance before, let alone a formal.
