For them, the world literally stopped as they were facing each other. Imagine, time of sunset, you are escaping because villains are chasing you and suddenly a pack of wolves lock your way, that really needs an explanation.
Questions are swirling in Dawn's mind. Reasonable why's and what's are the toppest. It is another questions that needed to be answer but seems like the answers she wanted are far away from her, and thus she needed to search for it.
