Chapter Three

Hate was all I could see and feel coming from Alpha Ralph. He stormed over to the bed and slapped me so hard I fell onto the floor. I screamed when my hip hit the floor. He laughed and grabbed my hair. “Please Alpha it hurts.” “ Your tears do not affect me you little wretch. You are the reason my mate is dead. You took everything away from me and now you will be the packs slave. You will clean the pack house every day until I say otherwise. You will not look at me or speak to me. I do not want to hear or see you. You are a curse on this pack. Be glad I don’t kill pups!” The Alpha dragged me out of the hospital to the front of the pack house. Where he threw me on the ground in front of the pack. I was chained to a pole like a dog. “The pack slave will be whipped every year she remains alive. You are not to talk to her. You will not help her. Bring me the whip!” He shouted. Pain so bad I cried out but I wouldn’t get anyone’s help. Three fresh gashes across my back. The pain was to much. I had passed out.

When I woke up I was in my tiny room in the orphanage. I don’t even know how I got here. I roll to my side to try to keep the wounds off my bed. “I’m sorry Ella, I know this is going to hurt but I need to clean the wounds. Doctor Kelly gave me some medicine to put on it.” “Please talk to me, Ella.” But I won’t talk to anyone ever again. They will get punished if I do. I can’t let them get punished because of me. I have to be brave and hopefully one day it will all be over. For now I would do what I needed to do to survive.

Summer break couldn’t end fast enough. I was ready to go to school. Every morning I get up and walk to the pack house. Every day I clean and every night I go back to the orphanage. I get pushed, kicked, slapped. It doesn’t matter what I did. What hurts the most is my best friend hates me. Mike blames me just like his father. Him and his friends are the worst. Always blaming me for something I didn’t do and of course Alpha hits me while they just laugh.

I was worried for awhile that Alpha Ralph wouldn’t let me go to school. But since The Red Blood Pack is a small pack we go to the neighboring town to school. It’s a human town with packs surrounding it. It’s neutral territory with humans as a buffer. Alpha Ralph had came by the orphanage a few days ago to tell Austin and Ashley that I would have to attend school but I couldn’t ride the bus. Being the pack slave I could walk the 45 minutes. But Austin wouldn’t let me. He would walk me to school to make sure I got there. He would also pick me up after.

As the months turned into years school was a nightmare. I made perfect grades. I only spoke to the teachers when asked a question. The Red Blood Pack students bullied me and even some humans started doing it. I learned to ignore them the best I could.

After my 10th birthday that summer break I was walking in the woods. I always sat at the cliff and watched the waterfall below. It was peaceful. I don’t know how many times I thought about jumping but never could. As I was walking back to the orphanage Mike and his friends jumped me. They punched me, kicked me and pulled my hair. Jacob the future Beta pulled something shiny from his pocket. I realized to late that it was a knife. “You will never forget this day.” “You should have jumped.” The boys held me down while he cut my cheek. I screamed and passed out. I woke up and realized Austin was carrying me. I just cried in his arms. Doctor Kelly patched me up but I seen it before she put the bandage on. Jacob had cut a S on my cheek. I was officially marked as a slave. I had healed over the summer but had a permanent S scar on my face.

The year I turned 11 was when I met Kierra at school. She was from The SilverLake Pack. She was beautiful and tall. But everyone was taller than me. She had tanned skin, dark brown hair and beautiful emerald green eyes. She had a calming aura and I always felt peace when I was around her. She was an omega. Her twin brothers, Landon and Luca were a year older than us. They were training to be warriors. Kierra’s mother was the pack doctor and her father was the head warrior.

*Flashback to 11 years old*

I was walking to my locker when I seen Karen, the future wanna be Luna to The Red Blood Pack, push a girl into her locker. She fell to the ground. Before Karen could do anything else I put myself between them. I stared Karen down knowing that I would pay for it later. But I didn’t care. I felt peace around the girl. I was upset and worried about her. She wasn’t from our pack and she wasn’t a human. “Move slave I will punish you later. “ snarled Karen. I stood there not moving. I will not let her hurt the girl. I don’t care anymore. I can take the punishment. *slap* Of course she slapped me. But I will not move. “The Alpha will hear about this and I can’t wait to punish you.” But she walked away with her friends. I had to make sure the girl was okay.
